Paras kept his eyes on the ground, "I apologize Master Thief. I was foolish for letting my temper control me at the end. It was in the heat of the moment and I tried my best to avoid conflict when I ran into your friend there, but I will assume that I failed in that particular interaction as well."

Ra'Krinrij did not avert his gaze as Maro looked on him, but did not speak up. He was not about to take any blame for what had happened. He instead glanced at the orc, who had been the first one to engage the guard in open combat.

"There's a guard attacking the others... And the others attacking the guard... I'm not sure, but I'm sure someone's life is in danger. They need your help." Valus quickly whispered. His palms were sweaty, and the fact that he couldn't hear metal clashing in the nearby room made him more nervous. Please... Nobody be dead... Please...

When Maro said the part about not relying on stealth Naragei glared at the door-banging Khajiit and crossed his arms.

Entryway

"My Argonian friend here is called Two-Shadows, and he is a member of the Thieves Guild. The man you were trying to kill is Dominic, the Weapons Master here," Maro said. "And yes, you have failed this part of your initiation." He turned back toward the stairs and said, "There are rooms at the top of the stairs if you feel you have done enough to earn one. The door to the city is behind you. Your main task has not changed."

Paras looked up at Maro, and then to Two-Shadows, and then up to Mara, and back down. "I feel like I deserve a bed, but perhaps not a good one, for I lashed out in anger. I apologize for that Dominic," he looked at the large man, "and it is comforting to know that in the future you will hopefully be on my side. Sorry for trying to decapitate you." With that, Paras shamefully walked up the stairs he had been up once before.

As Maro uttered the word "failed" Ra'Krinrij's fists clenched. He said nothing but a quick "Well fought" to Dominic, only sending his companions an icy gaze. He sheathed his sword with a brooding look on his face and followed Paras up the stairs intent on finding a bed.

Raven looked back at the Dunmer and was about to speak, but then chose to remain silent and chose not to question why. She walked across the room to where the next path would lead, she grabbed the back of her hood and pulled it up, over her head. She didn't completely ignore the situation, but deemed that it wasn't of her concern either. She waited for Lalussa "Come on, I think an exit may be closer than we think.."

Raven & Lalussa

Raven and Lalussa eventually came upon the entryway.

"You two may claim a bed upstairs, or find your own way in the city," Maro said when they entered. "The door at the far right end of the hallway is a common room with ten beds. That would be the safe bet."

Tsiani glanced at Dar'Virr, rather seriously. "Tsiani is the habit of running away from guards, not the other way around. We should go."

Tsiani
"As is Dar'Virr," the Khajiit replied, "but this guard is known and not really a guard." He began leading Tsiani toward the entryway.

Valus was confused, but followed anyway. He felt a little safer knowing he was with someone who knew his way around.

Raven tilted her head for a bit on the sight of the others "What in oblivion went on down here?" She peered her eyes toward the Khajiit as he walked away, almost like a punished child being sent to bed without supper, and leaned but a half inch while she pointed at him from afar "Don't tell me ole 'bushy brows' over there got the rest of you into to trouble?"

Lalussa nodded and followed her companion untill they came upon the others. "What the oblivion happened?" the Bosmeri thief asked the others.

Nitpicking time! Beta, hell isn't a word in TES. It would have been Oblivion instead of hell. Sorry, i'm just being a nickpicky sod, Beta ChocolatCakes.

Tsiani hesitantly followed, wondering what was really going on.

Tsiani & Valus

Dar'Virr, Tsiani and Valus entered the entryway, joining up once again with the rest of the initiates.

Entryway

Dar'Virr surveyed the scene, then nodded at Dominic. "This one is glad you did not kill any initiates this time," the Khajiit said in greeting.

Dominic smiled knowingly.

Maro went up the stairs and turned right at the top. He went into a room and shut the door, evidently done with the initiates for the night.

Two-Shadows stayed at the bottom of the stairs, waiting to see who would else would be brave enough to stay the night in the same building as the man they had tried to murder.

Naragei followed Paras and Ra'Krinrij up the stairs. All he wanted right now was to find a bed and be done with it.

Ra'Krinrij arbitrarily entered the first door on the left, ignoring the chatter from downstairs.

Valus was completely lost in the situation. First, a guard attacks them. Then the guard becomes friendly. And then Maro goes storming off? Valus shyly stepped toward the guard. "So... Am I allowed to go to bed? Surely the guild has more to offer than couches, right?" He asked, hoping he wasn't wrong in asking so.

[Rook]

After Maro had left the room, Maugrim strode over to Dominic, offering him the stolen blade.

"I apologize," he said, somewhat sullenly, "I wasn't thinking clearly."

[Eltee]

"Sheggorath's whiskers." Tsiani murmured, shaking her head.

She glanced at Dar'Virr. "We have investigated the ruckus. Dinner now?"

Ra'Krinrij

The door Ra'Krinrij opened revealed a small bedroom, complete with bed, dresser and desk. It seemed it belonged to someone, though. The fur gave an indication it might be Dar'Virr's.

Valus

Two-Shadows approached Valus and replied, "There are beds upstairs, door at the end of the hallway to the left." He extended his hand to the Imperial. "You were one of the few who decided not to fight, and for that I think you deserve some rest. I'm Two-Shadows."

Maugrim

Dominic looked Maugrim over once, then accepted the sword. "It's been four years since I've been disarmed, and never by an unarmed opponent," he said, looking into the orc's eyes. "I am impressed."

Tsiani

Dar'Virr smiled broadly at his female companion and nodded. "Yes! Dinner!" he said excitedly. "Dar'Virr will take you to the best restaurant in the Imperial City!" He put an arm around Tsiani's waist and began leading her to the door. "Unless you like bad food, and then Khajiit will take you to the worst pub!"

"The best restaurants are always too stuffy, and the worst pubs are always too loud." Tsiani said evasively, leaning her head on Dar'Virr's shoulder. "Dar'Virr should bring me to his favourite. He knows this city, yes yes!"

"Dar'Virr knows just the place for two sneaky Khajiits to enjoy fine food and company," Dar'Virr said, opening the door to the city.

Outside the street was bustling with merchants heading home, guards patrolling, beggars asking for handouts, and other citizens moving about, going here and there. The Theives Guild was located in the Waterfront District of the Imperial City, the harbor directly in front of it. Three ships were currently moored there, each with a guard at the gangplank, keeping watch for thieves.

"We will be going to the Elvish Gardens district," Dar'Virr said as he walked with Tsiani, "to a place called The Rose House."
