It was still very cruel of you. Am surprised he didn't snap at the end. when TNG 2 is up, i hope Morph and Nate make a return although, i doubt Nate will due to his ending, i think. That said, i suspect Kerr would come up with a way to use him again.

I miss SIAR. The first one. That was the only RP that I was in to the very end, plus Nick was an [&@%!]. And I had SOOOO much fun playing him.
Especially the scene where he re-appeared in the room in mid-air. BRILLIANT! (If I do say so myself..)

What would make you think Nate wouldn't/couldn't come back Dovah?
Anyway, some thoughts on WON 1.0 hope you don't take offence. It might come across as harsh. And it's been a while so I might remember things wrong:
It felt for a long time that the PCs had no reason to be together or interact with each other. (This wasn't the case in TNG. All the PCs were together from the start and knew what to do from the start. I think it handled it much better) So often they didn't, you'd just have several groups of 1 or 2 PCs which can be fine, but we were introduced that way and have idea who the other people are. Remember Uno threatened to kill my character for talking near her. Seriously, that was it. And apparently my guy was the one in the wrong. Sure.
Also we had nothing to work towards. There was just some vague threat about hunters. Wow, people hunt vampires and the like, big surprise really had to call a meeting for that. And we weren't meant to do anything about it. Just know there was one. No real clue about them other than they exist. It felt like we were just faffing about wasting time until something happened. I mean that is fine to do but as I whole it didn't feel like there was anything for us to do and no reason to do any of it. And that faffing about went on for ages. (Using TNG again as an example of it done better, we all were invited to a meeting, met, talked to each other for a little bit and then set off on adventure together knowing what we were meant to do.) It kind of came across as you set up the idea for a RP but not where to actually go with it. This interview thing in the reboot seems to work around that, and we seem to be getting to it much quicker, but even then lots of PCs are just off in their own little world which might cause issue.
It was in an alternate universe but it was vague on what was different. I think we were in London but it was also the Capital of Night World. Is that just what Supernaturals call their society and it is the capital of their society or does everyone call it that? It had a different name from London so maybe it was actually a different place, I really didn't know.
I know these are pretty subjective criticisms but they did bug me. I felt like everyone being off in separate places with no reason to interact, having nothing to do and no reason to do it and this going on for ages and some general vagueness as to details of the world itself detracted from it. Still, it was never bad enough to make me want to drop out or anything. I do think rebooting it was a good idea and it is going better so far. I'm hoping the issues I had with the original don't crop up again.
Also, TNG is just one of my favourite RPs I've ever been in.

Re: The Roleplay Nostalgia Thread
No offence taken. I realise that there was the ever present idea of lack of information for WoN, something I think I have rectified in the reboot. And thank you for the deep thought on why. =3 Hope that TNG 2.0 is just as bombastic as it's predecessor.

Re: The Roleplay Nostalgia Thread
I really regret not picking Johnny B. Goode as the song in the OP of Vault 54. Not sure what song I'll use for that Canadian Fallout RP I'm planning to make.
Also when I look back on basically every RP I've ran I see lots of stuff I did wrong and regret doing. And others that I think went badly overall. But maybe I'm being too harsh on myself.

I treat TA2 as just another thread for the original. TA didn't really end, I just didn't update it for a very long time.

Re: The Roleplay Nostalgia Thread
I love the RP survey and I feel like talking about Silicon and Sorcery, so I made a teeny little mini survery just for discussion and curiosity purposes.
Let's talk! I feel it didn't really get much closure, unfortunately. D:

Hope to get some discussion out of this, that RP was really just so great.

But there are still, like, a zillion people without epilogues.
I didn't know we could. I thought it would be a bit more appropriate here I guess? I might do that later then.

Yeah, when RPs ended we used to talk about them and give critiques in the same thread.

Re: The Roleplay Nostalgia Thread
That was stopped. It was one day suddenly decided that Matt's Tenet's were all equally relevant, including: "Never talk about anything other than the active roleplays on the UESP Forums. To do so is to invoke the Wrath of the Mage." Though, I'm cool with merging threads if it's what's wanted.
I have a half-written up epilogue somewhere that I keep meaning to finish, I just can't decide on an ending.Favorite Player Character?: Friedrich Karls.
Favorite NPC/PC Family Member?: Umm ... let's say Pavos, I can't remember all that many.
Favorite Antagonist?:Rosa. That Communist, who I forget the name of, that wanted to kidnap the mayor, who I also forget the name of.
Favorite Event/Battle involving your character?: Seducing Valsha.
Put All The S&S Player Characters in an arena. Who wins?: Rosa, she's smart.
Favourite Instance of Bioware/Cyberware?: I don't think I had any, honestly.

Re: The Roleplay Nostalgia Thread
Yes, we all loved Arthas. I'm not a player so the survey isn't for me. I'm not surprised that not everyone made character epilogues, although I was hoping more people would. After I made the epilogues I just knew there were some NPCs I forget to make them for, NPCs who should have got them. Someone (who I won't name) mentioned that I didn't have anything about Lance Kuo (the cop getting tortured in the basement), I was going to do it then but they also wanted to use him in their character epilogue so I didn't to let them make their epilogue. Then they never made an epilogue.
I really liked running it. Although as I mentioned before the main reason I made it Cyberpunk/Fantasy was that I was worried nobody would join pure Cyberpunk. The setting actually ended up being grimmer than I was originally going to make it, I was going to make it Post-Cyberpunk rather than Cyberpunk. Although following the events of the RP and the War, the MAA does improve. I did like the setting but I don't think I'll use it again. Although I am planning on making a Post-Cyberpunk Space Faring Sci-Fi RP in the future. But that won't be for ages, doing World of Darkness and Fallout first.

I dunno. I thought it was on-par for Cyberpunk in terms of grimness. Though, I guess you weren't aiming for Cyberpunk (- what's post-Cyberpunk?).Knight Captain Kerr wrote:The setting actually ended up being grimmer than I was originally going to make it, I was going to make it Post-Cyberpunk rather than Cyberpunk.
If we'd just stripped away a few more regulations it would've gotten better. Trust me.Knight Captain Kerr wrote:Although following the events of the RP and the War, the MAA does improve.

Re: The Roleplay Nostalgia Thread
No I did end up going for Cyberpunk, it just wasn't what I was going to do originally.
Post-Cyberpunk TV Tropes Link. Think of it as a less pessimistic view of Cyberpunk. Not a dystopia but not a utopia either.
