Re: Most Useful Shout...
Throw Voice. Because it never fails to uplift my spirits to read, "Hey Skeever butt!" "Hey ugly" "Hey troll bait!" I mean its good to help ya keep enemies away, but really just the giggle factor is most important.

Re: Most Useful Shout...
Since my recent mod made the enemies absolutely brutal, I have now learned the joy of using shouts. Before I didn't really bother with them since I could do without well enough.
Become Ethereal and Dragon Aspect have become my most spammed shouts for now. Dragon Aspect because it pretty much boosts everything and has a very short recharge time (and also lowers it for others) so I can quickly start using other shouts. After that I have been using Become Ethereal's first word. Good way to get close to an enemy and score a hit or escape when they are about to do something nasty.
Since the character I'm currently focusing on hasn't found many shouts yet, I'm certain I'll start developing some other nice combos in the future.

I too like Throw Voice, as I like to know if there are enemies ahead b4 I get there.
Also really like Kyne's Peace for those times when u just cant be bothered fighting a bear.

Become ethereal by miles. Its good for breathing space, its great for closing in on mages and letting them waste magicka, its good for jumping off cliffs, it lets you run longer.... its a wonder shout!

Fus roh DAH!!
I like whirlwind sprint and elemental fury. Quite frankly become ethereal is more useful than elemental fury, but I hardly ever use become ethereal. It's a little girly-man shout.

Elemental fury is useless if you use enchanted weapons....

I always forget about that. I don't use enchanted weapons. Skyforge steel is all I use. Elemental fury is more of a novelty shout; but I still like it a lot.Raynil dralas wrote:Elemental fury is useless if you use enchanted weapons....

Re: Most Useful Shout...
Weird. I've considered replying to this thread a whole load of times, and somehow never managed it.
The actual most useful Shout for me personally is Kyne's Peace, because I love bears and refuse to fight them. Their behaviour in Skyrim is totally unrealistic - a threatened bear would bluff charge and then run rather than attack, unless you did something really stupid like getting between a mother and her cubs. So I use Kyne's Peace with my characters as the "make friends with bears" Shout.

I now use a sharp blades sword with no enchaments which makes elemental fury my most useful shout. I figure play style decides which shout is most useful.

Re: Most Useful Shout...
I fell in love with Unrelenting Force when I first used it with all three words, and it's absolutely my most utilized shout on all my characters but one. Dragonrend also gets a lot of use, for obvious reasons.
Now that I've been playing my mage character substantially, I've also come to love Become Ethereal. I had never bothered with it before, but once I started using it, I realized what I was missing. It has so much utility, plus for a mage it's invaluable for getting uninterrupted Master spells off.

Re: Most Useful Shout...
I'd have to say Dragonrend (for obvious reasons), Dragon Aspect (found it to be very powerful), and Become Ethereal (I only use it for falls). Though I use Dragonrend, Clear Skies, and Flame Breath the most. I use Clear Skies because it makes it easier to see dragons. Flame Breath I use when I'm too lazy to switch out for a fire spell to set some oil on fire. Someone earlier mentioned Ice Form, but I can only get 2 words for it (last wall is bugged).

Re: Most Useful Shout...
I voted Unrelenting Force and other (by which I mean Cyclone and Whirlwind Sprint). A timely Fus-Ro-Dah has saved my characters' asses more times I can remember. It's especially fun near cliffs, since that way one can eliminate a whole bunch of baddies without breaking a sweat. Cyclone I deem just a more show-offy version of the shout. Also, Unrelenting Force is good for throwing items down from ledges, if you don't feel like climbing to get them. It's good for fishing, too, and for triggering some traps from afar. No wonder it is my most-often used shout.
Whirlwind Sprint is good, too. Besides reaching ledges one can't reach by jumping, it's hugely useful for hauling loot from dungeons. Overburdened? No worries, just use the shout and you're back in the town almost as fast as running.
Modded element breaths are great, too. Vanilla ones are a bit pathetic, so I downloaded a mod that makes the three-word versions similar to the dragons' breath attacks. Now they are awesome at mowing down huge squads of enemies. For anything less than four or five it's a ridiculous overkill, though.

Re: Most Useful Shout...
Slow Time is very useful for archer characters and is my favorite shout. I also voted for Dragonrend and Unrelenting Force. I'd choose Kyne's Peace over UF, except that I already use calming spells and Voice of the Sky to achieve the same result as KP. Call Dragon was a nice role-play thing for liberating Whiterun during the Civil War, but beyond that I don't see it getting much more use. I can see some of the others also being useful, just not for my current character.

Re: Most Useful Shout...
Throw voice is by far my favorite shout. Is it the most useful? I think FUS RO DAH is the most useful because it gets those enemies away from you. But throw voice...its just hilarious watching the bad guys look for you. Its like watching a cartoon character giggle in the corner while setting up something for those baddies to taste.
