If anyone wants to hit a lot of stores in one day, read this

Post by dancam1 »

So, my Character woke up at 8 am in the College of Winterhold. I went to the 6 vendors and got them. Then, I went to the store in Winterhold. From there, I ran down the mountain and hit city of Dawnstar (2 more vendors).
From there, I ran to Whiterun and hit all the stores (5 more).
Then I hit Riverwood and got those 3 stores.
Finally, I ran to Falkreath and hit those 3 stores. And I did this from 8am to 8pm and hit each of those places. And I did this with no horse. So, if you have a ton of stuff to sell and don't want to have it spread over days, you can hit every store.

I wasn't sure if everyone knew this or not, so, I wanted to share it.

Oh, another thing I noticed, in the same spot that the Dragonflies spawn in the water, usually 2-3 of the special fish also spawn. From the home near Falkreath, I always end up with 7+ alchemic fish by the time I hit Riverwood. If you run to the water from your house, you hit the island with the Bees nest (and the hunter). I always find at least 2 fish, then a short ways down is another 2+ fish. Then, across from the hunter down from the Standing Stones is another 2+ fish. Lastly, right before the rock is another spawning site. I got 12 fish once that way. Was quite happy and got 8 dragonflies to boot.

Lastly, If you start at Falkreath, you can hit Whiterun in about 5 hrs of game time and that includes getting the fish and stopping at the stores. Make sure you take the river down, not the path. You save a ton of time going down the waterfalls.

What special things have you guys found out?

I find that dragonflys are very fast and hard to catch. A good place to catch fish is by Ivarstead also.

Oh yes, I totally agree with you about the Dragonflies. They are very very hard to catch and you have literally one second to click on them most times. I have found that having a real ps3, not the knockoffs gives u the best chance, but, I know the real ones are like 40+ and the cheap ones are like 15, so, is it worth it?? I don't know. for me, it's no b/c I can't open locks either. The knockoffs don't work well in skyrim for me...

I always thought that catching the dragonflies on the 360 was a royal pain in the rear end, but I find that I have an easier time now that I play on the PC.

For catching dragonflies, I have noticed that if I harvest all the dragonflies or they fly away, if I leave the special fish alone and swim a short distance away, the dragonflies come back / respawn very quickly. If you are in a large lake, like Ilinalta, you can swim around going from patch to patch of the little fish, and by the time you come back around the dragonflies are back and you can catch them again.

If you have Dragonborn installed, the quest 'Unearthed' has very helpful loot in the form of Ahzidal's boots of waterwalking. It is the only piece of equipment in the game where you have the ability of waterwalking, minus any mods for the PC. You can get a couple samples of a potion of waterwalking, but I'm unsure if the person who gives them to you will ever get any more. Also, the boots are perfect for catching leaping salmon for the salmon roe, which is only available if you have Hearthfire installed.

You can do a stealth roll with out the perk by unsheathing your weapon and hitting Sprint while sneaking.
