Your Coolest 'travel party'?
What I mean is travelling in the great outdoors! For example once, returning from Dawnstar, one of my characters hooked up with a Khajiit caravan for safety, which was joined by Alik'ir warriors, and then the Dunmer who wants to join the stormcloaks, what a merry company, but really we killed anything that even tried to attack us. Anything similar happened to you? Tell me about it!

Re: Your Coolest 'travel party'?
My dragonborn does not merely travel with others.. he goes where he pleases.. others are just compelled to follow
To clarify on this.. I got two main followers(Serana & DB female) and once a Riekling(Papa Smurf).. but now got an armored troll(Fluffy) to be our new mascot*
So it goes without saying I rarely am alone upon my travels
However I do actually enjoy the company of khajiit caravans.. though.. I did stalk one group from one city to another... helped me raise my sneak and alteration(detect life) Granted at that time I was alone.. so very alone...
Still, if neither of those would fill the needed requirements, I did once play an "escort mission" by safely returning the Jarl of Whiterun from atop the throat of the world. I dared any dragons to try and fly by =____= plus for some time the other's were upon the same path till we reached the base
*We couldn't fit Cicero into the mix :/ he would of made us complete

Yeah, followers just don't seem to work with me "Hey Erik! Now you've got armour, let's go and see what was in that cave! Erik? Oh you're dead...time to reload again..."

Re: Your Coolest 'travel party'?
That's how my characters usually travel. I do have a mod which allows me to have several followers, but so far I have refrained from making use of that feature, because I feel that my company would end up a tad too overpowered. My latest character is having trouble deciding between Uthgerd and Lydia, though, and I'm seriously considering having both as followers. Kind of like Charlie's Angels in SkyrimUrsula R. M. wrote:Ursula+Horse+Dog+Bodyguard.
One travelling incident that stands out in my memory is that one incident where my character accidentally followed Miraak's cultists.
It happened near Solitude. I was finished doing some stuff there, went to Katla's farm to pick up my horse and started riding down the road west which leads through Dragon Bridge. I noticed that there were people walking along the road in front of me and rode on. As my horse slowly gained on them, I got a closer look at their robes, and it dawned on me that they were the cultists from Dragonborn.
I stayed behind them, occasionally stopping my horse so as not to get too close. It was so funny, the way they were trudging down the road, oblivious to the fact that their mark was right behind them.
The fun lasted until the place where the road to Meridia's shrine forks off the main road. At that point I rode in too close, they noticed me and I had to kill them.
Those incidents seem to be reproducible. I've had a similar thing happen to the same character somewhere in the east of Skyrim. It seems that as long as you spot the cultists first and stay sufficiently far behind them, you can be their follower.

Re: Your Coolest 'travel party'?
I have the Amazing Follower Tweaks mod, and I've managed to fix up some interesting groups with it. The most annoying one I had was my assassin--Felina, Lydia, Serana, Illia, Sceolang, LucienLeChance, and Shadowmere. That only lasted two dungeons before everyone got sent home, except for Serana. Felina even ditched the horse.
Sylmirie the Altmer only travels with Aicantar, and their dogs.
But my favorite travel party is Lieth the Bosmer, her husband Vilkas, and her brother-in-law, Farkas. A happy, little family. Sometimes, Aela will get thrown in, too and so there you have the Circle hunting together.

The most unique companion I've had was one of the high ranking Dremora that attacks you in the Shrine of Mehrunes Dagon. I've found out that when I cast Dead Thrall on him he would follow me around and doesn't turn to ash when defeated, so I just kept reviving him as needed. He, I, Serana, and Shadowmere made an interesting dark combo.

Re: Your Coolest 'travel party'?
Followers mod = My own party of adventurers! My current party is;
-Arathir (Dragonborn)
-J'zargo (Main follower)
-Erik the Slayer
-No'nara (Mod follower Ohmes Khajiit: Check her out, seriously.)
-Bran (Team dog! :D)
But other than them, some previous or temporary members of the team include:
-Peart Rho (Nord Warrior Custom follower, left to join the Greybeards)
-Irvine (Imperial Swashbuckler Custom follower, died helping the party defend Fort Dawnguard against a vampire invasion)
-Solaste (Drow Archer Custom Followe, died in the same battle as Irvine)
-Ralof (Modded into a follower, currently staying in Riverwood)
-Ghorbash the Iron Hand (Guarding Arathir's house and children)
I like having lots of followers, it makes the game more lively. Especially with mods that add large battles to the world.

Re: Your Coolest 'travel party'?
I use AFT, and of the two characters I'm playing currently, only one has followers at the moment (the other's a thief who hasn't made it to the Thieves Guild yet; he'll likely get one or two from there). I like have two or three just to liven the game up.
My Redguard Mirisa's current party is:
- Tierra (fellow Vigilant of Stendarr who I roleplay as her younger sister)
- Erandur
As I go, she'll probably add some and lose some as her story continues, but I'll keep it as small as I possibly can. It is a lot of fun to have a whole group of adventurers, though.

Re: Your Coolest 'travel party'?
I once followed the lady with the dog who's on the pilgrimage to see the Gildergreen and pray to Kynareth, and we ended up being attacked by bears, wolves, sabrecats and finally a blood dragon right on the outskirts of WHiterun.
After a fight which drew in guards and farmers form across the hold (the dragon flew all over the place and didn't land for a while), we killed the dragon and went into town - I thought the dragon had killed the dog but luckily it was faffing around with some mudcrabs half a mile away
traveling with npcs can be dangerous for them

I had Vigilance with me the last time I did Clavicus Vile's quest, and it made Barbas almost tolerable. The 2 dogs worked together at certain points like real hunting dogs.

i enjoyed having Barbas along but he sometimes attacked neutrals. He killed one adventurer i met in a dungeon for no apparent reason

Re: Your Coolest 'travel party'?
Another AFT user here. My Bosmer archer Marilyn in her last (vampiric) incarnation at one point had her own little gang of undead including Serana, CuSith, Cicero and Jenassa, the latter two of which she'd turned into vampires herself. My Breton witch Sylvaine Emrys, on the other hand, had her own coven, her travel party usually consisted of her husband Cosnach and any two of Aranea Ienith, Eola, Muiri or Madena (erstwhile court wizard of Dawnstar, made a follower thanks to AFT) + Feralflame, a modded sabre cat follower.
Marilyn II, restarted and not (yet?) a vampire this time, has had various followers up to now, mostly from the Interesting NPCs mod, for roleplaying reasons and for the duration of their respective quests, but prefers to travel and work alone or with one follower at most because, frankly, with more than one everything gets too easy. At present her entourage consists of Meeko, Frost and two packhorses-cum-follower-mounts, nicknamed Leathermane and Dwemare (after their respective horse armours).

I have the trusty Argonian miner, Derkeethus, by my side. He got a glitch that makes him essential, and he's a pretty good fighter. Although, I just keep him around because Argonians are cool-looking. He's got awesome one-liners, too.

He becomes available as a follower (and potential spouse) in vanilla Skyrim after you escort him back to Darkwater Crossing - that is, he's supposed to but is rather buggy and will often disappear or otherwise not react correctly.

Re: Your Coolest 'travel party'?
For most of my current playthrough, my Dovahkiin has been solo (except in cases where a follower was forced for a quest), but now with both main quests done as well as the DLC's done, I found things were getting a bit dull so I'm now experimenting with a team. I got AFT and I'm building an epic little squad.
Doing it full-roleplay style as well, picking up followers one by one as we meet them and devising a whole story arc for it. I've gone and made an entire headcanon for my team of misfits complete with backstories for everyone and whatnot. Even gave them all unique horses. It's made my Skyrim experience INCREDIBLY more fun~
So far my team is as follows (in the order of acquisition): Tyrra (my DB), Uthgerd the Unbroken (the tank), Serana (destruction mage), Derkeethus (archer), and Teldryn Sero (spellsword). We're planning a trek to Winterhold now to see the college, and I'm considering adding J'Zargo to the team.

Re: Your Coolest 'travel party'?
My Imperial Legion Healer likes to travel with her own Legion Task Force-Adelaisa Vendicci as follower, in her Heavy Legion gear, with 2 'Legionaries' (reanimated Imperial Soldier thralls)- sometimes Bran tags along too. She's a pacifist of sorts, and tends to throw out Illusion buffs and Restoration Spells whilst the unit does the smudging.
I had a similar playthrough with an Orc, Ghorbash, with two Orc Bandit Thralls, our own raiding party, and my Bosmer Hunting party with Faendal and Bosmer bandits... Basically, thralls mean +2 companions, and it's GREAT.

It's not like my poaching is hurting anyone, the other hunters can hardly track every deer, can they?

Two giants, a thief, Serana and her zombie fox
It was only a brief moment but rather memorable. Though Cyril actually traveled with the thief rather long. He earlier persuaded the argonian to ditch his fail plan of robbery and then they kind of happened to head to same direction. Killed sabrecats and bandits together too.
