Is it forced PVP? As in anyone can attack you anywhere at any time? Or do you have to manually flag yourself?
I dislike pvp myself, and would like to avoid it.
I play The Old Republic right now, and they have a PvP server where anyone can attack you at any time. But they also have another server where you have to be flagged to be attacked, and there are specific pvp zones. Is it like that?

One PvP zone and one for PvE.
Cyrodiil - where PvP is on permanently.
Rest of Tamriel - where PvP is impossible and you will only meet characters from your own alliance.

Re: PVP....
How does the part about only meeting characters from your alliance work? Say a Dunmer wishes to go to High Rock. Would he be unable to access it? Or would it be a special version only for your alliance? It would be terrible if you can't explore, as that is one of the main things that draws players to the Elder Scrolls.

Re: PVP....
Well, the beta's limited and so we only have access to our own alliance's areas. They've said that in launch once we reach the level cap we'll be able to travel to the other Alliances' places, but they haven't told us how it works, whether that'll make you be able to be attacked or not.

Re: PVP....
Just going off an assumption<_< if they do permit 'invading' players to in some manner attack you, or vice versa, I would presume there would be dedicated safe havens for your faction, maybe even deny access to the very people your running from. What I really want to know, is if players within the same faction can fight, if at all. Not to sound cruel.. but it would be nice to kill some stranger that just so happens to be with me in a dungeon.. and thought he/she could steal all the loot...

Re: PVP....
One server only, first off. so no pvp server or pve servers... one giant server where everyone will basically be
PvP will only happen in Cyrodiil (at launch at least it's the only place with pvp). If you go into Cyrodiil you will be subject to pvp... there no flagging or not for pvp, if you're in that region you're going to be subject to pvp conflicts.
In the rest of the known game world there is no pvp. You won't be leading invasive siege assaults on Stros M'kai or Mournhold as part of the Aldmeri Dominion, let alone the only times we will be able to go into cross faction territory is after the level cap in what will likely be a separate version of the region. You will not have to worry about getting ganked while doing whatever random tasks as part of your own faction questing outside of Cyrodiil.
TLDR: forced pvp in Cyrodiil. No pvp outside of Cyrodiil

Re: PVP....
Every game since Arena has only allowed you to visit one or two provinces - ESO allows you to visit 4 provinces on each character, at a size pretty much the same as they are in Oblivion and Skyrim (Morrowind isn't comparable, as the entire of Morrowind will be available in ESO. Daggerfall equally isn't comparable) Ok, it is more like 2 to 3 provinces per Alliance at first, but eventually DLC will fill in the gaps.Jeelius-Tei wrote:How does the part about only meeting characters from your alliance work? On top of that, 5 and a third of the provinces are completely new, and two of the remainder were only partially visit able in their game.
As far as Exploration is concerned, this will be the best game yet, assuming they do TES justice.
