I disagree actually, having a long speard out empire like sourrounded by potential enemies would be an extremely dangerous position, the length of their borders alone would take a massive and expensive army to maintain. Due to the spread out nature of such a position it's unlikely that they could deal with any more than one threat at a time without leaving their borders dangerously undefended.
I seriously doubt that they could rise that kind of numbers.
But their only potential enemies would only be Nords, (Khajiit and Bosmer would be still fighting each others, while Altmer not showing any activity. Of course Redguard/Breton alliance would think Altmer are trying to be neutral, so they would not see any potential danger by cuting Empire into 2 parts) so most of the army would be in Cyrodiil (also because it's the center).
But you are right for one thing. Exactly because of that, Altmer would defeat them later.

This seems meaningless, because it's only your favorite race that can conquer (Like Mazers Redguard/Breton alliance.) whole Cyrodill, but when they have done that, Altmer siply come in and kick their Arses.

Why would Redguard and Bretons make an alliance? Why wouldnt they be fighting eachother?
Why not make a alliance with Altmer, or Dunmer for thats sake?

Actually i hate Redguards and don't like Breton, my favorite race are Nords.

I said the same too :]

Altmer wouldn't make an alliance with anyone. Dunmer could. I wasn't sure for them from the beginning.

I haven't seen any favouritism in this thread, all the people who delay the inevitable defeat of the Argonians ( :Twisted Evil: ) actually believes that.

Don't really remember exactly... But I think I said it would be Altmer, Bosmer or Dunmer a few pages back. Somewhere in the middle of the argument over Black Marsh being invaded. :P

Edit: Said the complete opposite of Bosmer I think, but I did say Altmer and Dunmer. :P
Maybe we can do something else now? Like the Dunmer have moved out and need to defeat the other invasion forces within Cyrodill?...

I was thinking more of them slowly moving out of Morrowind into a Cyrodill which is already inhabited by the other, warring, races.
Meaning they'll most likely come into some 3-way battles.

So, first up in Cyrodill is Cheydinhal, closer to Skyrim than any other province, so Mazer get's his Nords. :P

We can assume the Nords stationed here are in pretty good condition, they have not gone too far and this'd be one of the first places conquered by them, so well-rested. Tough fight. :D

The Dunmer would not send too big a force, but they wouldn't be stupid enough to under-estimate the Nords. But the Nords have quite a defensible position.
I suppose once it came down to the last few Nords there'd be a bit of in-city fighting... If that matters.

I know. Don't forget that Redguards and Breton would be in Cyrodiil too, and probably give most of their attention to Nords and Dunmer. But they would probably try to remove Nords from just-conquered lands. Maybe Dunmer could use this situation somehow, because they don't have any lands in Cyrodiil territory, and alliance from north-west would give a bit less attention to them.

Nords could also have a easy time taking Bruma.

The Nords in Bruma could eventually make a riot and kill the countess and conquer the city.

Well, I think Cheydinhal would first fall to the hands of the Dunmer. The city has a high Dunmer population due to it being so close Morrowind. They could do the exact same thing the Nords would do in Bruma. Riot, possibly distract the guards, will their comrades take over the city. Now once the Dunmer took over Cheydinhal, their best bet would probably be to move south, towards Bravil. A port city would be a big advantage, and it's not near any eminent threat. Unless of course you consider Khajiits a threat.

Seriously, what does everyone have against Khajiiti?

They cant win because you dont like them, simple enough..

Just because you dont like them, doesnt mean that they cant fight at all.
Sure, you dont hear about Khajiiti heroes or anything like that, but they're still a fighting force.

Well, I'm not really saying that the Khajiit wouldn't be a respectable foe in a War, I'm just saying that in a battle between Dunmer and Khajiit, Dunmer would win. Both races are exceptional warriors, but Dunmer have a mastery of destruction magic on their side. Not to mention the fact that they successfully enslaved Khajiit.

I think it would depend on the place where they fought. Khajit have the desert living thing. I always thought they would fight like the Fremen from Dune.

Dunmer would win against Khajiit for sure (and Khajiit is my second favorite race, if you think i hate 'em). Because Dunmer are stronger in face-to-face match, unless Dunmer would invade into Elsweyr. Khajiit could defend very well then.
Khajiit could try occupying Leyawiin, since it's near the border. But i don't think Khajiit would attack actually.

Hmm..It would be like a Khajiit vs Argonian for Leyawiin fight..
Unless they joined forces and attacked Dunmer.

This goes around in one big circle, many posibilities..

But a Khajiit Argonian war over Leyawiin will be neverending..
Argonian's with their skills in assassination and Guerilla Warfare overfor Khajiiti with good skills as a warrior or assassins..

I could see a Khajiit and Argonian alliance happening. They're both beast races. Looked down upon by the other civilized races. They'd probably see the Empire disbanding as their chance to take control over those who wronged them, mostly the Dunmer I think. And in my opinion, both races would be willing to admit that neither of them could take control over Tamriel alone.
Leyawiin would be easily taken over. This could give them complete control over access to the Niben River. Obviously Bravil would be their next target. Now if the Dunmer had control of Bravil, this would lead to an interesting battle. Khajiit and Argonian versus Dunmer. I honestly think this could go either way.

Where would the battles be taking place? And although the Dunmer seem to be my favorite, I cant see them winning a offensive seige into a city with Kittys and Lizards camped in the heart of it. With that said thought i couldn't see the Beast alliance winning in a head to head battle outside of the city either. So.... Hmmm who knows? Good scenario by the way.

Khajiits and Argonians hate each other more than anything else in the world.

Maybe that was just in Leyawin(sp.), the place where they had that racial war, khajiits wanting to kill argonians and vice verca?

The racial tension between Argonians and Khajiits in Leyawiin, is due to Eitar. He purposefully stirs up trouble between them.

Dang, your good.

Oh well, I still think no race would ally themselves with another.

So what kind of progress has been made in this debate? I think so far, Bretons and and Redguards have formed an alliance. A khajiit and Argonian alliance also makes sense. So Bretons and Redguards have taken control of Skyrim and northern Cyrodiil. The Khajiits and Argonians have their provinces, as well as Leyawiin and most of southern Cyrodiil. The Dunmer, Altmer, and Bosmer are still in it. Where could it go from here?

What happened to the Orcs in all this, personally I see them becoming a mercenary race performing hits and killing people for whoever has the moolah. This could also be combined with the Nords.

Or.... They could form an Orc/Nord Force and go through similar things to the other alliances so far. The point could be made that the Nords and Orcs wouldn't have either the knowhow or the leadership to command such a force, but Orcs can be quite strategic in battles, look to lore for examples, and I think they could pose just as big a threat as any of the other Alliances. Even though I'm rooting for the Breton/Redguard Alliance (My two fave races).

If Orcs would like to unite with Nords, Orcs would have to unite themselves first i think :P Also i don't imagine Argonian/Khajiit alliance. But i don't say it's impossible, who knows? Maybe they would control southern forests and river in cyrodiil, wouldn't let anyone to go through unseen...
Altmer could try their luck. Starting from Anvil, finishing in... Skingrad maybe?
