Melee Templar Planning
So after farting around (yes, that's a technical term,) with various classes and various races, it came time to narrow things down and focus on a certain style. I wanna play a melee-based Templar, and I'm looking for suggestions from the more practiced players on how best to do that, what weapons and armor would be a better fit.
If you're nice and helpful enough, I'll give you a sweetroll.

I think you need to provide some more food for thought. With the open-ended ability system of ESO there are a great number of "best ways" to play. "This isn't WoW you know", and that analogy has probably never been more accurate.
What do you want to do exactly?
Do you plan for PvP or PvE? Tanking or damage? Group support or solo focus?
Also, when farting around, were you in-game or just using a skill calculator? If you've played you should be able to pick a weapon style that suits your own preferences.

Re: Melee Templar Planning
I do a little bit of anything, generally whatever catches my fancy at the moment. I do lean more PvE than PvP, though I don't ignore the latter, and I'm generally playing alone, but I don't say no to parties.
And I wasn't even aware there were skill calculators out already. Sheesh, doesn't take them any time to come out with those these days.

For a little bit of everything ... uh, I don't know. You really have a lot of options there.
Help yourself to some calculators. They were in the works for months before the NDA lift of course.

When messing around with the calculators, remember to keep in mind any and all possible passives. There isn't really a cap on how many you can have at once beyond how many skill points you have available to spend on passives. I've seen some people show off builds that apparently ignore some obvious things from the pvp skill trees (the skills work anywhere I believe but some of the bonuses are obviously restricted to cyrodiil like Reach)
