Re: The Official TES VI Wishlist thread
^ with regards to be able to become a guard.. Yes indeed, but I wouldn't limit it to that. I think that TES6 should be fleshed out with even more radiant quests. I like that one can be a bounty hunter, going after bandits at a random camp within the hold. It would be nice if each town would occassionally offer you a job as a mercenary to do such jobs, perhaps to reinforce a group of town militia. Or perhaps chase down a criminal, kill troublesome animals, clear out a mine so it can be used, clear the roads of brigands, or what ever a town might need help with. Other such radiant jobs, fitting more sneaky characters would be assassination jobs, and for mages it could perhaps be that their magic specialtiy is required to deal with some magical creature etc. Anyways, I want much more radiant quests. readily avaible, to make cash.
But I think it's important to not stray off too much with TES. The hero is an adventurer. I thus think it's unneccessary to include stuff like building houses, chopping wood, getting married etc. such things take resources after all. I want the game to focus on adventuring and heroing, and make those aspects really good, instead of trying to make it into minecraft.

Forever a fan of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and its expansions. Their glory hath yet to be surpassed!

Wouldn't things like RTS elements and construction sim detract from the open-world RPG-ness of the game though?Jeelius-Tei wrote:Should TES VI put the player as a rebel against the Thalmor, perhaps they should add strategy elements to it and making the player the commander after a few battles. The commanding would mostly be planning raids on castles, which upon taking, become friendly to the player. Before advancing so far in the main questline, the player will not be attacked when entering Thalmor cities.
They should also bring back the relationship bar. However, they should make increasing/decreasing relationships act more like the Sims, but with the added ability to do quests for the person. This would greatly increase immersion, as the people would actually have things they like/hate, as well add the ability to tell them to do things/quests for you.
You should be able to become a town guard/soldier. These would be simple quests for example, like helping someone/solving a crime, or killing/capturing bandits. Doing these would be a way to get paid. Successfully completing these without failing the objective would award gold, and successfully completing several would award a promotion to the next rank as a guard. Different ranked guards would have different quests. Grunts would have minor quests, like the ones I said before. Mid level guards would be much like the previous rank, but the bandits they fight/capture would be bandit leaders, and the crimes they solve are deeper. Highest ranked guards would do less killing, but they would be able to solve very deep crimes. You would not be able to be a guard if you are in the Thieves guild. This would add a whole new aspect to the game, giving it a much larger replay value.
The ability to build your own house out of materials you gather would be interesting. Unlike Hearthfire homes, you should be able to pick the design for your house. Ranging from tiny shacks, to large castles. You should also be able make an illegal house in the woods on a noble's land for free, however these would always have to be shacks. Building a home should not require you to have to build the house yourself. You should be able to hire builders, or build it yourself. The game should allow you to chop down the trees yourself, rather than only being able to hire lumber mills.
You should be able to open a business of your own, be it a small stand, or a massive franchise. You can choose to build a new building, or buy an existing one. You should even be able buy out NPC's businesses.

Re: The Official TES VI Wishlist thread
i'd like the game to move on from the Thalmor = evil and play someone enjoying the peace which the dominion has brought, maybe with news of rebellious states elsewhere (eg the nord and redguard lands). I dont see how their master plan can ever be implemented, unless it results in a dwemer like withdrawal from the world to their 'happy place', so for now it's reasonable to just get on with the every day business of maintaining trade through peace to fund magical research or whatever they normally do
the idea of commanding groups and the more strategic elements could be a great addition to the game though we have just had a game where there are two armies fighting so i am not sure we would see another war going on - but the idea doesn't need armies imo
From what i gather assassins creed has nailed the pirate gameplay, steer your own vessel type fun, which i think TES could have really benefitted from.
And i think for me the idea of armies or pirate ships or whatever all feeds into the notion that companions and the command of others should be overhauled. If you have a small group of followers/atronarchs/zombies/thanes, i would like to be able to tell them what to do without having to speak with them individually. Combat games (Op flash red river) have command wheels which allow for great complexity of orders (more than we'd need in TES) and thb its much more realistic and immersive if a hero says "go over there and keep quiet" via a command wheel type thing than having to stop, open dialogue, and go through all the options.
Fallout shows how this can sort of be implemented with the behaviour (aggressive stance, stay close etc) but the game can't handle the more intuitive orders interface of red river it seems, and tbh the ai is often a liability in TES (and FO)
If this could be addressed next game, then it would perhaps open up the possibility of having armies, small units of bodyguards or summoned creatures in a dungeon, pirate ships and dwemer flying machines.
Imagine walking down the main street as the new evil thane of the town, surrounded by bouncers and guards, and with a quick selection of a command wheel and a cursor point, order two guards to beat up that beggar over there... immersion-tastic

Id like to see little things in the wilderness that you can interact with. Like a well that u can go down to a secret room, or a weird rock that u have to strike three times for some kind of perk.
Quicksand, dodgy terrain, being able to actually climb things, more people doing different things (again, more so in the wild).
Meteors, more birds and animals that look different to each other (I.e. bears etc, dont all look the same)

Re: The Official TES VI Wishlist thread
Not really. The construction would not be like the Sims. Instead, a parchment menu appears. It has a couple of building designs to pick, if the player has enough money, or the materials for construction of that plan. After picked, the player can choose where to build it. After built, the player can build additions to it. The additions can be any style from the menu. If the player desires, they can paint their house any color, inside or out. The player can place furniture anywhere. All they need to do is buy it/build it, then place it by carrying it to the location they want it. You can also paint furniture. You should also be able to set up a temporary campsite. All you need are a few logs, and a portable bed, which can be purchased in a town, or made. Selling houses would also be a great addition.OblivionDuruza wrote:Wouldn't things like RTS elements and construction sim detract from the open-world RPG-ness of the game though?
The RTS elements would also function differently. They would resemble more of Mount and Blade, but to pick the fort to raid would work like this. The player is given access to a command room in each castle. Before a battle, the player picks which place to send the army on a crystal globe type object. Or perhaps the player could use a map to plan the next battle. During a battle, there will be sergeants who will command squads of units. There would be no constant overhead planning. The only planning would be to choose where sergeants and their squads go. The player can choose what type on squad a sergeant leads. Sergeants can lead infantry, archers, and cavalry. The player can also lead a squad. To win, the player must kill, or capture all enemy units. Winning grants the player fame and fortune, as well as a town/castle to command. To raise an army, the player must pay a recruiter, or raise an army them self. Self raised armies would be mostly farmers. Warfare would not be like it was in Skyrim. Rather, it would be more like a strategy game. You will have to defend castles as well, otherwise you may lose them. You can intercept other armies en route to a castle/town. You may do this by yourself, or with an army. It would not require planning. Because the player would also be able to lead a squad, this would allow the player to recruit peasants to become bandits with them. You can raid caravans. Caravans will not be named, except a select few, who have more items/money. Being a bandit will make guards attack you, unless bribed, and make bandits friendly to the player. The player will also be able to create their own kingdom, in which they can pick the laws and governing style (from another parchment menu).
If these were implemented in ways like I described, they would only increase role-playing in my opinion.

Re: The Official TES VI Wishlist thread
I agree with the mention that some guild quest line could be improved. You get to the top a bit too fast in my opinion too.
I also found it "strange" that you can just use any smith forge just like that, and without investing much you become a great smith compare to the forge owner.
Same with alchemy table. Just walk in the store and use it.
A better integration of "reputation" with merchants. For example in one quest you make the inn keeper angry, she then start welcoming you with "you re not welcome here" yet you get full service and a room if you want.
I liked the idea that you had to choose a side in the war, to choose to join or destroy the thieve and dark-brotherhood guilds.. I also like the idea that joining some factions or guild makes other closed to you.
But to be honest, all that is good if you played the series and know the backgoround... A new player would like to try it all in that new game he just bought
.

Hopefully the Blades armor and equipment returns. I like them, but I notice they aren't in every game.

Re: THE IDEA THAT WILL FIX ALL OTHER IDEAS
So, Skyrim got a little old. Once I did everything, I lost interest, and that made me notice some of its many flaws. There are THREE THINGS that TES VI needs to do to keep us interested: go crazy with ADD-ONS, UPDATES, and MODS.
-Add-ons: Skyrim had 3. Two of them were huge and awesome, one was okay but still slightly overpriced. Now, I think TES IV should have a dozen or more add-ons. There can be a few huge ones, a few medium ones, small ones etc. They should be cheap so I feel like buying them all, and some should even be free if they only add one questline.
-Updates: this is where all of the realism improvements mentioned earlier will fall in. They notice something that needs improvement-boom-update. They want to add an NPC-boom-they want to make a new cave-boom-stuff like that. And there's alot that Skyrim could have improved on
-Mods: this one is the most complicated. Since I play on Xbox, I never experienced mods like my PC bretheren. Well, it's time to change that. I believe that on the main menu of the game (Continue, New, Load, Add-ons, Settings), MODS should be added. Each player has a mod account, they can search mods and download them, and turn them on and off, delete them, like them with a "like" button or dislike, recommend etc. People should also be able to upload mods that they create. Each one would be scanned for viruses and legitimacy before being cleared to enter the market. Official Bethesda Mods could have a little logo next to them to signify they are official. And ALLOW all of the p0rn0graphicaI mods, as the game will/should be an "M rated" game, and people know what they are getting in to, right?
Also added to the main menu should be some sort of ideas board or link to a forumn. Ways players can get their ideas read and maybe help other players out.

PC gamer just posted a well written article on what they want from TES VI. Almost all of their suggestions, especially the co-op with a small number of players, are very good. Here's the article:http://www.pcgamer.com/gallery/what-we- ... lljoysch2/

This. I always play in first person and I find it really annoying that every time a ride a horse, I am forced to use third person. Why Beth didn't bother to implement such a simple thing in skyrim? For those who play on the pc there was a first person horse mod for skyrim, but it was broken by the 1.6 update.the Savage Hippie wrote:Bethesda, bring back first person view while being on a horse.

Re: The Official TES VI Wishlist thread
Honestly, the next game should have a better enemy that draws us into the game and makes us hate them and desire to slice their throat.
I'm thinking that some point in the main quest, there needs to be one of those scenes where the black comes from the top and bottom of the screen making it wide-screen mode, clearly indicating that while it is like that, there is like a little movie clip thing that we have no control over... all we do is watch.
The clip will show our character getting up in the enemy's face and the enemy getting up in our face like we are about to fight. Then as soon as our character discretely puts his hand next to his sword about to draw it, something gets in the way (a dragon, member of the enemy group) and prevents a real conflict until our final battle. This enemy must be very stuck up and annoying and just plain hate-able. Alduin was mean, but there was nothing personal really. This enemy, which will likely be the top member of the Thalmor, should also be very sneaky and be able to get away with it all, and perhaps he should kill children and a really nice yet hot lady who we would want to defend.
I also think that our character should get a voice. We could chose their voice, accent, pitch etc. while creating our character, and I'm sure that modders would love making Batman, Darth Vader, and super model voices too
*I got the original idea from another site but it did not go into detail. It was an item on a list

Re: The Official TES VI Wishlist thread
I hope we never get voiced heroes as it would ruin the roleplaying aspect of it despite the choices of the voice. More or less every hero would end up sounding the same at some point.
I would love to see an antagonist that we intially hate but end up coming to respect and prehaps even feel sorry for. For example, X is doing what they believe to be right for the province and there's proof that he/she has done a lot of good for it in the past but due to the something, they are getting desperate. Make us question if we are really saving the day or not.
The return of leg slots in the equipment section and the ability to mix and match clothes with armour. There's no reason for them not to include it. Assuming TES VI is out next gen, they will have 8GB of ram to play around with and should have no problem allowing it.
For the hero and the main quest to require nothing but hard work. Make us earn the title of the hero! Skyrim we were literally handed it within a few hours. The hero should be an average joe again instead of being the chosen one or at least hide the chosen one bit very well so that when we do discover our fate, we would be surprised.

horses are still awkward and i think would benefit from inclusion of spears in the game. I still get on a horse, circle an enemy hitting the RT until they are dead and then think "why bother, walking is more fun and more effective". Horses don't feel like living things I would keep them out of the game as mounts until they earn their keep tbhOrz wrote:This. I do understand the voice thing. It was just a suggestion, but I feel that an enemy that we felt sorry for would ruin the game. Why would we kill someone we felt sorry for, or let him live and continue his ways? If his ways were good, the quest would have no point in the first place.Thelastdovah wrote:I hope we never get voiced heroes as it would ruin the roleplaying aspect of it despite the choices of the voice. How about we re-think weather. The weather in Skyrim does little or nothing. How about in rain and snow, fire spells do less damage (only 50%-75% of the original damage), while frost spells get a boost in the snow (125%). Also, in the rain, there should be run-off and puddles. Maybe there could be some special spells or similar specifically for use in the weather, like a water monster or wave or something to rise from a puddle. Furthermore, and I'm not saying I advocate the idea, but weather could affect our movement too, like we may move slower or slide or not be able to walk up hills easily during any precipitation. Finally, we could use the Clear Skies shout, or if there are no shouts, a Clear Skies power, to get rid of the weather for a short time.

Re: The Official TES VI Wishlist thread
I tend to enjoy the daedric quests and getting into the religious lore of the Elder Scrolls. I hope to see interaction with mythos of the daedric princes even more exciting than Skyrim's. Although the Divines tend to be more hands off (end of Oblivion as an exception) I'd like to see deeper delving into their faiths. The Knights of the Nine expansion was fun along those lines; however, I'd like to roleplay through the lore as much as quest for holy relics. Choices of aligning with any given Divine or daedric prince may bring ramifications or conflicts with other factions (or other religious orders). There's a lot of room for fun questing and deep roleplay here.

LOVE these. The less that potential is limited, the better. The more things we can do, the better. Variety is good, options are good, realism is (usually) good, randomness is good, progress is good, good graphics are bad XD JKJeelius-Tei wrote:Should TES VI put the player as a rebel against the Thalmor, perhaps they should add strategy elements to it and making the player the commander after a few battles.

I wholeheartedly agree with this one!MJJ wrote:I tend to enjoy the daedric quests and getting into the religious lore of the Elder Scrolls.

Re: The Official TES VI Wishlist thread
I would like to see some new fighting styles. Add a martial arts questline where there are different schools in different cities, and the style could be determined by either the city of choice, the player's race, or they just get to choose. The styles could include Judo (larger movements), Hapkido (smaller movements), and other in between (like Kung Fu or Karate), and each differs in the balance between reaction time and damage the player inflicts. Each quest could include learning, practicing, then using new moves to clear increasingly hard dungeons while unarmed until they finally must defeat their master. Each quest would rank the player up until he must face and defeat his master. There would be one button for defense (countering) and one for attacking. To improve the skill, the player's reaction time must improve, but he inflicts more damage and can counter more types of attacks. Gloves/gauntlets worn by the player affect them also--heavy armor is slower but more damaging. Furthermore, we should be able to learn how to use a staff as a weapon. Classmates could be other citizens who interact with you, help you learn, and learn from you, and members of the opposite sex would be more inclined to marry a martial arts master.
Something like this, but anything to make unarmed combat fun and exciting

This please!!!Assassin540 wrote:Oh and after becoming the leader having more controll over the Dark Brotherhood or any guild for that matter but for the Dark Brotherhood you could recruit members into the brotherhood you could also open up new sanctuararies and then in the dlc's if you go to a new province you could start a sanctuarary there. You should also be able to spar with the members of the Dark Brotherhood and have them spar eachother. Another thing is you should be able to promote assassins and be able to appoint a leader of that particular sanctuarary, and appoint speakers unless there already are speakers. Then you should have to send a letter out to all of the Speakers after talking to the Night Mother so they can tell the assassins who to kill. Then for the speaker in your province you should physically go to him and tell him the contracts for that week and then he sends the assassins on contracts and after they do a certain amount they could make them rise in rank.
And make people actually talk about and fear the dark brotherhood.

Re: The Official TES VI Wishlist thread
They really hit the nail on the head with point 10. The Elder Scrolls has taken a massive step back over the past to titles in-terms of the UI on the PC, with Skyrim being more console than PC orientated, and a real shame (one of the first things I noticed about the game, and one of the few major negatives). Morrowind had a very functional and modular system, and while not perfect, one that felt deserving of the PC platform. Advances in monitor resolution and sizes have made the UI potential far greater than back in 2002, and PC users deserve to see a dedicated UI, rather than a console port.Orz wrote:PC gamer just posted a well written article on what they want from TES VI. Re: The Official TES VI Wishlist thread
I hope by VI we have a new Emperor and the start of strong Dynasty. I hope the Blades are reformed/reintegrated back into the Empire and the Penitus Occulatus are kept as secret agents in a "hidden sector" type of sense (espionage, interrogation, assassination, etc).
I hope the plotline is congruent and doesn't rely too heavily on Skyrim or Oblivion (obviously the effects of both events will be touched upon and felt throughout the game, but I don't want it to be the focal point). I'd like to go back to Daggerfall and have the game start their or possibly in Stros M'kai and have the player character somehow mixed up with the empire/emperor (as has been the case with Arena to Skyrim). I want the Dark Brotherhood to be back and either be joinable as usual or the big bads of the game, perhaps maybe a splinter sect of the DB that is hellbent on killing someone important.

Seems VERY legit.Sahqonnax wrote:And think about it, TES 6 Elsweyr and Valenwood, TES 7 Hammerfell and High Rock, TES 8 Tamriel (All provinces, systems should be capable of supporting a gigantic continent with great graphics, And then TES 9 Akavir (Always wanted to go to Akavir, meet their people and possibly meet Nerevarine who was last seen traveling there...?)

Re: The Official TES VI Wishlist thread
One thing I sort of look forward to<_< for preserved food and ingredients to be rather abundant, namely within ancient ruins<_< because lets be honest.. fresh apples shouldn't be in a place where life hasn't stepped foot for ages.. Same thing with ingredients, for it could simply be a variant of another plant or other.. maybe giving it different characteristics, be it for better or a lesser quality. Also wouldn't mind seeing potions and other perishables spoil, namely losing potency or turning toxic.. or to the unlucky transmit a disease
On a similar note, I also feel literature should to a degree seem less out of place within ancient ruins. I mean, if you show signs of an adventurer or something<_< maybe.. but I'll much rather see ruined books, dusty tombs, manuscripts with a fitting language and theme.. than come across some book that seems too modern. Just my opinion though

Re: The Official TES VI Wishlist thread
Here's an idea:
The dwemer/dwarves should be the "Dragons" of TES:VI
They should return and wreak havoc with the Empire, Aldmeri Dominion, and Rebels if that is the setting.
I'm not saying they should be the main quest, but should switch places with the Civil War of Skyrim.
The rest is up to Bethesda
