"I-I don't know." Elisa muttered whilst staring at the ground. She hoped that someone would help her with getting up to the ship and hoped that she would not end up vomiting during the journey.

Rin squeezed her small hands tighter upon the fabric as she uttered muffled words "Is it okay for' me to look now..." she asked her guardian. Mausier stopped in his pace only feet away from Vex and Elisa, awaiting for Rin unclasp from his back. In a slight depressed manner, she landed upon her feet, she looked up just in time to meet his eyes as he turned to face her "What do you think they want wit' us.." she asked her guardian in a sad innocent tone, her eyes soon to be on the verge of tears. "I.. I don't wanna' be taken away.. Mausier..."

He didn't say a word, not even of kindness, but he did offer reassurance. Clasped down upon one knee to near her height with his, he gently placed his hand upon her head, cushioned by her hat, playfully smashing it down with a rub while it messed up her hair. Her face tilted forward and to the ground as the ruffling of her hair hid her expression. Upon the end, he removed his hand from her head, her face was flushed but the tears seemed to have been prevented. She sniffled a bit "You promise to never leav' my side.." she said, holding out her small hand with the pinky extended. Mausier responded by clasping his pinky with hers, and both faintly had a smile.

Vex nearly teared up at the adorableness of it all. She knelt down, intending to be an additional source of comfort for Rin so that she wouldn't be as scared. "Hi, sweetie." she said with a smile, waving.

Elisa looked up at Rin and her guardian after hearing the woman talk to him. "Hi!" She said to the woman and slowly walked towards her but saw Vex was going to comfort her so she turned around to look at lee. "How does an airship work?" She asked him.

Lee looked a Rin, he couldn't help but think that this would be a one way trip for the lot of them. He heard what Elisa said and was temporarily taken out of him grim thoughts. He tried to think of a good way to explain them but couldn't really think of one with all that was going on. "You make sure there is enough power in the engines and then that keeps it... actually it's kind of complicated and would take a while to explain. Mind if I tell you another time?" said Lee.

Actually I'm sure how they work in this setting and don't want to make lore up or have Lee be wrong about something he wouldn't be wrong about.

"Okay." Elisa said to Lee and smiled at him. "Do you have any advice dealing with air sickness?" She inquired.

Rin immediately unclasped her hand, instead to to hide behind Mausier's size. She wrapped arms around his left arm, just below the shoulder, and leaned out her head as she met her gaze with Vex "My name ain't Sweetie.." she said with a childish pout, and her mouth partially hidden by Mausier.

The pale man looked at his partner and then back at Vex, his red eyes unwavering and vigil, but had the odd vibe that he wanted to speak but couldn't

Elisa was so close to being made a fool by Rin if she was thinking she would get a hug so close..

"Oh! Sorry." Vex said, backing away from Mausier to show him that she meant no harm. "I never caught your name. Mine's Vex. What about yours?"

Rin ran behind Mausier, only climb up on his back and set her behind upon his shoulder. "What's naggin at your noggin'?" She asked her protector, playfully poking his cheek with a finger. Despite his harsh, ominous exterior, it all mended well with Rin's cheerful, spontaneous tone. His pupils dashed slightly to meet her's, breaking some of the focus from Vex.

Rin looked upon Vex when she spoke, then to Mausier, and then back again. Her face pouted as she came mid way to conclusion "It ain't sweetie, I can tell ya that.." She leaned over to extend her reah, bearing her staff, and evidently went to hit Vex over the head with the end of her blunt tool. "And keep away from my Mausier, he's mine ya hear!" her voice laced with a bit of jealousy

"Ow!" Vex exclaimed as Rin whacked her, rubbing her head. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you so. You're very lucky to have someone who protects you so. Though, you can obviously take care of yourself." she added, fixing her hair.

Mausier looked over at Rin "What? She clearly was askin' for a good ole lump on the noggin." she said without a hint of regret. Mausier straightened his legs and stood tall, while Rin quickly adjusted her balance. Without a word, he extended his arm out, with open hand. A gesture in some manner for a shake, as if an apology. Rin quickly tried grabbing the upper portion of his arm to draw it back "No, no, no, no, no! Don't shake hands wit' her!" she stuttered in disapproval

Vex looked at Mausier. "If it will upset her, I'd prefer not. Thanks for the kindness, though!" Vex said, curtsying politely.

"Damn right it would!" Rin yelled out, bursting with immaturity and a fist to shake. However before she could say anything more, was cut off by silence.
Mausier returned his hand, only to reach into one of his pockets, an unmistakable noise that made Rin's ears perk. And thus out in his palm he held a single sweet coated in a colorful wrapper. Rin held up a finger to her mouth, intently watching her 'prize' and resisting ever urge to drool

"Umm.. Mausier.. are you goin' to.. I don't know.. eat that sweet?"

He shifted his palm and placed the sweet between to fingers, and purposely held it away from her reach. Rin responding pointlessly reaching out for it and playfully begging. Without an expression every changing, he dangled the piece in view. "You're no fair..." she said in a blush. He responded by dangling it once more "Fine...."

Rin pushed herself off his shoulder and landed on her feet, just before Vex. She looked shy and didn't want to look her in the eye. She held her staff with both hands behind her back horizontally, swinging her body back and forth in with the awkward moment "Ummm.. I'm sorry I hit' ya on your noggin..." she was only a bit sincere with her words, but sounded guilty no less

Of any 'dividual' style characters I've seen, Rin and Mausier are by far my favorite. This is adorable. <3

Vex smiled softly. She couldn't fault the girl; she was in a rough situation and she was right to distrust strangers at the time.

"It's fine." Vex responded, nodding. "I understand that you're not... comfortable right now. I promise I'll help keep you safe wherever we go, alright?"

Vex stood back up from kneeling on the ground, looking at Rin. "I never got your name. Can't keep calling you 'sweetie', can I?"

Rin blushed and started to hide her face more as Vex spoke, but then heard that lone word "I ain't no sweetie" she said, pouting her face and stomping on the floor. However before she could rile herself up, she heard her precious 'prize' get unwrapped. She quickly turned just in time to see Mausier about to do the unthinkable. With mouth in clear view for once and open wide, his eyes closed shut, and teasingly about to toss the sweet straight into his mouth. Rin instantly started to gloss her eyes and look upon in a begging sight like some dog.

Mausier peaked one of his eyes open to see the scene, as if fully intended. He closed his mouth, gave a shrug with a sigh, and playfully tossed the sweet slightly to the side but not afar. Rin, as if in the middle of a life or death situation, dived and leaped ahead to catch the sweet in her mouth "Your mine!" She was agile enough to catch it midair, as if she's done it thousands of times before, gleeful with the taste. She landed upon both her feet, and turned to face the others with a sense of victory as she marched back to her guardian.

She went behind him and climbed up his back, once more making her seat on his shoulder. She childishly kicked her legs about, clearly happy with her reward, and hummed a bit before she could speak "My name is Rin.." she said as she pointed to herself with a thumb "..and this here is my valiant knight, Mausier!" this time she patted beside herself upon his shoulder "He's all the protection I'll ever need!" she giggled slightly

Elisa had overheard Vex and Rin's conversation. She walked towards both women and saw Rin hit her on the head. She didn't comment and listen to the conversation afterwards. "Aw!" She said after watching Rin climb onto Mausier's shoulder. "You are adorable!" She complimented the woman. "I feel sorry for the poor sod that tries to harm you as he looks like he can break anything in half." She said to Rin and shot the pair a smile. "I'm Elisa, it's a pleasure to meet you both!" She said to both people. By focusing on the pair, she started to feel less nervous about the inevitable trip to the airship.

Rin puckered her sweet in her cheek while she savored the taste while she sheathed her staff. Mausier shifted slightly to see Elisa as she walked, aware of her presence long before Rin did. She slowed her kicking as the stranger talked, trying to process her thoughts. Upon her reply, she clasped Mausier's collar and gently shook it a bit "Mausier.. the strange old hag says you' could tear a sod' in two.. is that true?" She sounded so innocent with her words, completely ignoring the fact she just resulted to calling Elise a hag.

She looked upon her guardian as if hearing a response, only for Rin to break the moment with an action that could neither be described as a giggle nor a snicker. A slight vibe of foul intent resonated off of the child, she continued to look at Mausier, raising her hand and continuously poking him in the cheek "Hey.. hey Maus'y.. are you a sod?" A grin reached ear to ear, clearly laughing at her own joke. Then suddenly she lunged for his neck with move arms and lost her balance, evidently hugging him while she dangled from his neck and over his torso "But your my sod' you silly nilly!" The unmistakable laughter of a little girl could be heard, and Mausier could not help but look down upon her with a small smile upon his pale face.

"Aw!" Elisa said as she watched the adorable girl. "You're so adorable!" She said to Rin after watching her dangle from Mausier's neck. She was smiling at Rin as she observed the pair.

"Ummm... word to the wise, I'd refrain from the 'adorable' words." Vex quietly mentioned.
