TES Cosplay

Post by Almsivi »

Well, to start, I'd like to say that this is my first post here, so hello, everyone. I was very surprised that this username was not taken (and hopefully there's no rule that I missed that prohibits me from taking the name of Morrowind's beloved mer-gods!). :)

Anyway, I'm an obsessed Elder Scrolls fan, and have been searching the internet for cosplay ideas and such. Alas, I was disappointed to find only one pair of Dunmer and an Almalexia. You see, I'm looking for something of a Halloween costume -damn you if you say I'm too old- but don't really know a lot about costuming.

My ideas for characters are these:

1. Almalexia - It's been done, but it seems like a fun costume. And she's crazy. Ears seem like the main problem. Body paint and contacts can't be that hard to get.
2. Sheogorath - Because I just love him that much. The costume is crazy complicated-looking. I could probably get my hands on some fake hair/a beard/contacts.
3. Some sort of random Telvanni sorceress thing? Therana is funny, but I don't much like her costume/hair. Body paint with a freedom of costume choice, I guess.

As you can tell, I have an affinity for crazies. I'd list Big Head, because he's adorable, but humanoids seem like better costumes. Do any of these sound like good ideas? Anyone know how I'd go about starting costumes? Halp?

Welcome to the forums.

Sheogorath looks like he'd be the hardest one to find a costume for as his regalia is very intricate. Almalexia would also be difficult as finding armor like hers would probably be difficult as well as her face/body paint looks intricate. A Telvanni sorceress would probably be the eaisest of the three. You could get blue face paint as well as some robes resembling theirs.

I'd be Crassius Curio if it were me... but you could do anything... If you had lots of face/bodypaint and free time, you could do Vivec, by painting half your body bluey-grey and half goldy-yellowy-brown.

I'd just be a regular high elf mage. I've got the perfect face to dress up as an elf, but you don't see many elves with blue eyes.
( I chose high elf because they're my favourite race, they're quite tall, and I'm tall as well. )
Also about the name, it probably wasn't taken because it's spelled almsilvi.

You can make almost any kind of "armor" with foam rubber, hot glue, and spray paint.

My girl wants me to go to Otacon (an anime/rpg convention in Baltimore) with her next year and I was seriously thinking about trying to make a costume simmilar to Mannimarcos cloak and making my own staff of worms.

I'm gonna make myself some King of Worm's Robes for Halloween this year. I have some scary eyes already made out from last year [basically a coulple red LED's attached to a dark pair of shades. If worst comes to worst, I can use one of my riders as a seeing-eye-freeloader.
