Re: Good Armour? or Good-Looking Armour?
Technically, UESP is a US site, so it is armor.
OT - with how Skyrim works, the two are the same, if you want them to be, so it varies with the character and what fits them best.
With my altmeri main, she uses fur at the start, then elven/some mod armours until Sky Haven Temple, then switches to Blades, then after main quest Dragonscale/whatever seems like a good idea at the time. Currently she isn't using armour, as she is using the clothes version of Tribunal Robes mod from the Nexus.

Good looking for me.

That's a very good pouint, I'll remember that oune for future reference. lol.Redguard OfTheEmpire wrote:Witchery, why of corse it is. Wait a minute, did i mean course? that's right, U's after O's are important.
Also, it's good to see that many people agree with me, because it really annoys me that the better armours are generally worse-looking.
If things were spelled how they are pronounced as I was taught as a wee lil' ankle-biter, then armor would probably be spelled "armer." I also found the British "ou" inclusion to be strange; when I read it, I have a tendency to read it as "armoor" since "u"'s have a tendency to elongate "o" sounds. Which, in itself, almost makes the two variants seem like different words.

Can't really vote on this since my favorite happens to be Dragonplate (honestly the quintessential dragonborn armor, and just overall badass).
And because of that both go hand in hand, often times I'll try to switch armors for the sake of variety, but tough foes will usually force me back into it out of necessity.

My cat, Felinia, is trying everything out. So far, Hammerfell Garb looks good, no headwear, just the braids. Totally vulnerable except for Oakflesh. Going for the looks on this one.

First time I played it I went for good armour but every other time it has been good looking armour.

I go for visual appeal. My stalhirim armor gives me an armor factor of somewhere over 2k, several times what I need. I think it looks cool hey how better to sneak in the snow than wearing it?

Re: Good Armour? or Good-Looking Armour?
I go for what fits the character best.
My main is a mage, so he wears the best looking robes. I don't like the arch-mage's robes though so I prefer to stick with other ones.
My vampire assassin usually wears thieves' guild or dark brotherhood armour. She's currently in the Nightingale set.
My mercenary just got started, so he doesn't have many options yet. He's currently in heavy armor, minus the headgear for RP reasons.

Re: Good Armour? or Good-Looking Armour?
Definitely looks and roleplaying aspects over protection. I'm even guilty of this in Dark Souls which is a really unforgiving game. Though my first character often tends to be a jack-of-all-trades type of mess who I'm not really roleplaying so I usually go for what's best. After getting used to how the game works, I can "afford" to take more challenge which comes from choosing the better looking, yet less effective, options.

for me dragonscale was my favourite armour so it's a bit of a moot point
however, i like the look of ancient nord armour this time round (the helm and cuirass rather than the clunky boots) so will be styling over substance
@CreeperX, yes that's how my games seem to play out - jack o t first and then things start to get interesting
