Possibility of carrying on with the Dragonborn?
Unlike most other TES games (Arena being the only exception), the Dovahkiin has been yet to be written out of the story in any meaningful way. The Champion became Sheogorath, Neveraine went to Akavir and Daggerfall had the Dragon Break, but the Dragonborn's story, and indeed a lot of Skyrim's story (the Thalmor) has been left open - almost on purpose. Do you think in the TES: VI, you might actually carry on with the Dragonborn as the PC? If so, will it be a Mass Effect style porting of the character, or will he be the Dragonborn only in name?
I'm on a rollercoaster that only goes up

Re: Possibility of carrying on with the Dragonborn?
no I don't think so because if they are true to form they won't want us to be tied to a hero from an old game. The devs/their partners might explain some stuff in a book or mini movie/animation (that might be cool) in the mean time
it's interesting that the empire has been vanquished by the dominion and i think theres every chance our heroes in the next game will be Dominion citizens but when you look at what happened to the Dunmer between oblivion and skyrim, anything could happen
as people will no doubt be weary of me saying, i think the game was wrapped up early due to the next gen consoles being released so dlc which would have satisfactorily tied up some significant loose ends was not produced. I could be wrong but that feeling has stuck with me since they made the announcement

The dragonborn's story is over. They ended up becoming a champion of Mora in canon but most people will give the dovahkiin their own ending. It would be too much trouble then it's worth to carry the Dovakiin over to TES6 due to the variables in the game. The odd mention, i can see them doing. But just via "The dovahkiin did this" instead of by the default name.

That would not remove them from the picture. Miraak didn't become imprisoned from being Mora's champion.Thelastdovah wrote:The dragonborn's story is over. They ended up becoming a champion of Mora in canon.

True. But it seems Bethesda intends to remove the Dovahkiin via that method. But they failed to give us a decent explaination to why the Dragonborn would end up doing the traditional disappearing act.

I don't see how. There was no dlc that said the Nerevarine would go to Akavir. They don't have to explain it in Skyrim.

True but they did end the COC's story in Oblivion with the Shivering Isles. And it did seem like they were going to do something similiar with the Dovahkiin before Dragonborn was released.

That's only one example.Thelastdovah wrote:True but they did end the COC's story in Oblivion with the Shivering Isles. And it did seem like they were going to do something similiar with the Dovahkiin before Dragonborn was released.
Like Br3admax said, there were no hints given in Morrowind that the Nerevarine would be going to Akavir, and I'm pretty sure no one predicted the whole ''warp in the west'' thing would be the official ending to Daggerfall (though who knows, I could be wrong here). It doesn't necessarily need to tell you exactly what's going to happen in the future. It's open to a number of options; some we might not even have thought of.
As more of a personal preference, I'd rather not play as the Dragonborn again. I was sick of hearing that before I even bought the game, so I really don't want another game with it.

Re: Possibility of carrying on with the Dragonborn?
I would be severely surprised if the Dovahkiin was the hero of TES:VI. The canon ending is fairly obvious when playing Dragonborn, and the whole importing your character thing just seems like too much trouble. I much prefer have different heroes each game, it brings variety. There will be more than one hero throughout Tamriel, so why should we be forced to play only one of them?

Re: Possibility of carrying on with the Dragonborn?
I can't see them doing it. But you'll probably be able to "head canon" it if you can ignore the whole not shouting at people thing. My Eternal Champion and Agent were the same Redguard and my Nervarine and Champion of Cyrodiil were the same Breton.
Just because they didn't hint at the Dragonborn's faith doesn't mean they won't. In fact they might have hinted at it, we just won't be sure what it is until the next game.

Re: Possibility of carrying on with the Dragonborn?
It is very possible for Dragonborn's story to continue, yes.
Dragonborn could perhaps ally with the Stormcloaks and bring the fight to the Thalmor, or join the Imperial Empire and do the same.
Then again, the Emperor could be assassinated and the Dragonborn may be seen as the rightful heir to the throne, since St. Alessia, Reman Cyrodiil, Tiber Septim, and other descendents of the throne were Dragonborn. Ulfric Stormcloak may be quick to pledge allegiance considering his reverence for Nord honor and traditions, and the new Dragonborn could then lead a unified empire with the reformed Blades against the Thalmor.

Re: Possibility of carrying on with the Dragonborn?
Of course it's possible, just like it was possible to carry on with the nerevarine. But they won't, hopefully. I'm sure we'll be given some explaination of how the dragonborn ended his/her days when we get TES6, just like we were with the nerevarine. I prefer to have us start over again with a new hero.

Re: Possibility of carrying on with the Dragonborn?
From what I got from the Dragonborn DLC was that the Dragonborn was now Hermaeus Mora's personal slave. I doubt they will continue his story, and if they did it would break the way the game works.
