Re: What makes you mad in Skyrim?
The damn Delay. Why? Why is there a bleeding delay between switching to the spell or sword via the favourites menu and actually being able to use it? Why? If I need a ward spell, i damn well expect to use it within 2 seconds at most. Not when I've just been blasted in the face with flames or frost as it's too late then. And the unsheathing it twice is just [&@%!] me off! Why does this exist? Oblivion didn't. Also, i hate not being able to attack due to the damn delay!

This may be known to you, in which case I apologize, but why don't you hotkey the ward spell? Open favourites menu, light up the spell with mouse and press a number button. In my experience, switching from a spell to another via hotkey is pretty much instantaneous. Switching from a spell to a weapon is frustratingly slow, however.

This. Somebody in Bethesda needs to be kicked. Also, how on earth do guards know I'm a member of the Dark Brotherhood? I mean, come on. It's nice to have a reactive environment, but that doesn't mean you have to break all immersion to do it.perylousdemon wrote:Oh, yeah. Or "You're the new member of the Companions, right? You still get two hotkeys, but they don't help anything. The favourites menu on that platform is horrible.

Re: What makes you mad in Skyrim?
Ah, I see. Sorry, I'm so used to playing all games on PC I assumed you also played Skyrim on it.
On topic, the menu system annoys me. Nowadays I've more or less got used to it, but there's no denying it's horrible. Oblivion's system was both more practical and more appropriate for the game's overall style. On PC, too, the favourites menu isn't the most usable thing. Hotkeying, of course, makes things as easy as in Oblivion and Morrowind, but it's not mentioned clearly enough in the game manuals or menus. For my first twenty or so hours I thought they had scrapped the hotkey functionality and fumed over it. I only discovered how to do it on the UESP wiki. Besides, why the character's picture isn't in the menu? Who wants to see half the screen hogged by pictures of all kinds of junk? I want my character portrait back, damn it!

I've done that and it's still slow. And there are only 2 hotkeys on the consoles.Nord85 wrote:This may be known to you, in which case I apologize, but why don't you hotkey the ward spell? Blue Palace's garden is actually quite disappointing. Three thistles and that's all. I've expected a little more for the High King's residence.

Losing a weapon to the Disarm shout, which has happened multiple times. Whenever I know it's coming, I unequip my weapon via hotkey. Fighting the last draugr in Bleak Falls Barrow becomes a reflex game, since (at least with SkyRe) he has Disarm in addition to Unrelenting Force. The shout's annoyed me enough that I never use it, and don't plan to.

Re: What makes you mad in Skyrim?
Reminds me of when I had an unarmed mod installed. "Unarmed" was actually an equippable weapon, but it had no visible graphic...and it could be disarmed by that Shout. I had to reload so many times while fighting Draugr, it wasn't even funny. I think that ended up being my reason for uninstalling it.Zephyr wrote:Losing a weapon to the Disarm shout, which has happened multiple times. When you start chopping wood and have your woodchopping Axe equipped, and you are chopping wood with the same Axe on the side of your hip and in your hands. It totally kills my immersion.

Re: What makes you mad in Skyrim?
You know what's really silly? That you can only get Lover's Comfort from your married spouse. Wake up, Bethesda, this is the 21st century! (To preclude misunderstandings, I'm married myself in real life and happily so, but why can't I roleplay a promiscuous slut and get a little boost to my élan vital from a passionate one-night stand? Sure, Mara would disapprove, but I'm sure Dibella would smile on me.)

Lost Dawnbreaker to one of these [&@%!]! Using bound weapons around them now, that seems to work fine. I use fire breath on them too, they really [&@%!] me off. Nnnnnggggaaaahhhhh!!!!!! Archers is such *silly cows*. They turn me into *sauce* instantly with its bows, but if they have used swords it will be much slower. This makes me *frumple*.

I am not a silly cow. Just making that clear.
I've found myself disliking how empty the wilderness is. There are no inns out there, and very few wandering people.

I agree that there should be more inns. Maybe not in the wilderness, but definately along the roads.

Would you have to wear an Amulet of Dibella to signal your availability? Because given that those also boost speechcraft, I can imagine some hilarious misunderstandings. "No, no, Belethor, I just wanted to get some extra cash for these sapphires; leave me alone!" "Do come back." "Guards!"Finn Wolfshorn wrote:You know what's really silly? Another one that annoys me is how deeply quest-locked Morokei is. Being so restricted in getting all the dragon priest masks is a pain for roleplaying.

Same with trying to collect the Stones of Barenziah... Having to join the CoW to do that quest is irritating.Zephyr wrote:Another one that annoys me is how deeply quest-locked Morokei is. Being so restricted in getting all the dragon priest masks is a pain for roleplaying.

My master destruction mage
, who wanted to master the fire breath shout
, has to join the Companions
, in order to have access to one of the word walls.
