Shiva
The flame carried on on its path towards the vehicles, but at some point seemed to pass over a rough patch of soil. The thin oil line, in addition to the soil, caused the flame to burn out before reaching its target. Luckily, it seemed the small flame had gone unnoticed.

Shiva carefully made her way towards the spot where the flame had gone out whilst trying to remain out of sight. She relit the trail and carefully made her way back towards the trench whilst trying to avoid being spotted.

Grabthar nodded and said, " Thank you." He began to walk through the door, but then stopped halfway through. He turned to the guard again and asked, "You wouldn't happen to know which direction Durren's camp is, would you?"

Grabthar
The officer looked over to his comrades, most of whom shrugged back. ''Should I really tell him? I'm not really in the business of sending folk to their death, after all.'' He spoke to his fellows.

''He's one of the new arrivals. They met Durren on their way, and he knows what awaits him. Who're we to stop him from making this choice, and meeting whatever fate he may?'' A female officer replied to the first. ''Besides, he was bound to find out anyways...''

The other guards nodded in agreement slowly, before the original speaker replied to Grabthar. ''Well, I dunno exactly where he sets up camp, all I know is that it's in the forests to the north. That's just common knowledge around here.'' The officer shrugged once again as he finished speaking.

Shiva
The trail sparked to life again as Shiva lit it. From her vantage, Shiva saw the new flame continue just as slowly as, if not slower than, the original flame.

As it made it's way to the vehicles, a single guard turned around to witness the flame crawling along. He quickly walked over to it, and as he arrived he stamped it out a moment later. At this moment, something seemed to catch his eye and he knelt down to the ground. He ran his finger in the dirt before raising it to his nose. ''What the...Oi, you!'' The guard called to one of his fellows. ''You seen this?'' he pointed to the trail.

''What's that? petrol?'' the second guard could be heard quietly asking in the distance.

''Motor oil, I think... and it leads up to the cars...'' The first replied, his voice just as distant, yet clearly suspicious. ''Either one of these guys was playing a [&@%!]' stupid joke, or some other dickhead rolled through and set the whole thing up...''

''I'm gonna tell D.'' the second said with a wave of his hand, before jogging off into the main tent.

I don't know why, but this just made me laugh.
Shiva looked at the cages to determine how many guards were near it. If there were none and she didn't risk getting spotted, she would make her way over to the Daemons and quickly attempt to free them. She hoped that the guard would be dumb enough to not put out the slow moving flame.

"Thank you," Grabthar said to both of the guards before walking out of the door, his course set for the woods to the north.

Shiva
The cages remained guarded by just as many men as before, no one having made any move from the trench. The ''dumb'' guard had already stamped out the slow moving flame, having done so as soon as he had approached it. He was now searching the surrounding area.

Grabthar
The guards waved goodbye once to Grabthar with a straight face, before closing the door behind him.

The first trees of the forest could be seen in the far distance. It would perhaps take an hour or so to make the trip over there.

*****************************************************************************************

After the walk through the late morning sunlight, Grabthar now stood at the edge of the northern forests. The land within was clearly beyond the reach and influence of the people of Roik, and no trace of Durren or his men could be clearly made out just yet. A dirt road went on into the woods, though there was nothing pointing to where it might eventually lead.

Shiva realised that the flame had been put out and knew that she would need to create another distraction. She slowly and carefully made her way towards the shack whilst trying to remain out of view. If she managed to get close enough, she would set it on fire and proceed to do the same to a few tents whilst trying to remain out of sight in an attempt to cause a big distraction.

Shiva
The shack and tents were on separate parts of the camp. Shiva might be able to approach one and light it, but both after each other would be a much more difficult and dangerous task.

Shiva decided that the tents would gain the most attention if they were on fire. So she made her way towards them whilst keeping out of sight and would set them on fire before making her way back towards the trenches whilst remaining hidden.

Shiva
Shiva was able to successfully reach the tents undetected. The nearest few tents to the bushes were easily lit by only moments of torching. Shiva was able to light small fire on 3 different tents, and the flames grew quickly, soon encompassing two of the tents with the third soon to follow, and if left alone, the fire would likely spread to the other tents close-by.

However, the large flames also caught the eyes of the many guards in the area, and they were all quick to run over to the fire and attempt to douse them with whatever water sources they could find, running over with water bottles and running off to fill buckets.

Shiva was hidden for the time being beneath cover of flame and bush, and was able to avoid the eyes of the guards who remained distracted. Arriving at the trench, Shiva spotted 3 guards running out to look at all the commotion. While the 4 guards who remained within might have lifted their attention ever so slightly from their cages, the main entrance to the trench was still watched.

Shiva looked for another way into the trench and if she spotted one, she would enter it provided it was safe enough for her to do so. She knew she had mere minutes unless an explosion happened but it was better then nothing.

With the few options available to him, Grabthar decided to walk into the forest along the path.

Alright, enough of this. I feel it's about time I cut the head from this RP and ended it's misery.

DMing has been easy, and it's actually quite simple for me to think up storylines and events and things to occur and happen to players. I created this world as a child and I love it, as such I had high hopes for this roleplay, and I was prepared to carry on DMing it for a long while. However, I never got as many characters as I wanted, I wasn't able to connect players, I have slowly been bleeding players and characters, and now a general lack of enthusiasm floats around the whole RP, to me at least.

I would attribute the failure of this RP to 3 main things: player characters being too far apart geographically, characters being slightly unsuited for the world itself, and a bad start date.

So, I'm sorry to say I must shut this down. Sorry for all the trouble, folks.

I'm really sorry to hear this Phil, but I understand where its coming from. I know that I, for one, was really enjoying this RP, shame it had to end so soon.

:( I was having a super fun time. My character isn't the most exciting, but don't take that as the way I feel about this RP. I love the world, I love your writing style, and I love the amount of detail you've presented thus far. I was very much looking forward to having Grabthar try and talk to Durren and see what happened. If that was something you didn't want to happen you could have stopped Grabthar at the gate of the city. I really hope you reconsider. And if you want something to be different in regards to Grabthar I would be happy to change, or go back, or whatever.

No, Grabthar was fine, Musicman. I liked writing for him. In fact, the only event that really threw me off in regards to my plans was the death of Lust. Mostly, I just felt that there weren't enough players representing the different factions and races, and the overarching story and events would have fallen flat with these particular characters.

I'm very disappointed as i was enjoying this. Shiva was very enjoyable and I was looking forward to some insight into Sactumn and the captured Daemons. Lust was too restrictive for me and was way beyond my abilities as a roleplayer due to me needing to actually convince someone. Like, Musicman, i do hope you'll reconsider it or do a reboot of it one day. If I had been given a few subtle hints, i may have not got backed into a corner where i got a bit bored as that is what happened with Lust. :(
