You are an ordinary (or possibly slightly extraordinary) person, currently staying in the city. Perhaps you live here, or perhaps you’re here on a business trip. Maybe you’re just a visiting tourist. Whatever your purpose, or lot in life, you and a group of other random people will soon be thrown together in a struggle to survive; for you will soon discover that the dead are no longer staying dead. And on top of that, they’re hungry for living flesh. Will you be able to survive the zombie apocalypse?
The World
Our real world is the setting for this RP; all places, organizations, and products that exist in real life also exist here, unless otherwise specified. I may choose to invent some very minor fictional details (names of local shops, for example), and of course all the characters will be fictional, but aside from that, the world is as you would find it today. Although you will start in the city of Anchorage, the RP is entirely open-world. Where you go to survive is ultimately up to you to decide.
The Zombies
The undead will be the initial, and most obvious, danger in this story - although perhaps not the only one. At the outset of the RP, you will know nothing about the threat you face, and will have to discover their nature and origin over time as you progress.
The most you will know at the beginning is that there is a contagious, and so far incurable virus that has been spreading across America and the world. It causes a high fever and other flu symptoms, and if not treated consistently, can cause death in as little as forty-eight hours. It has been declared a worldwide pandemic, and is one of the biggest stories on the news at the time the RP starts…
The Mechanics
Most outcomes will be decided by me, including all combat situations. I will make as fair and realistic results as possible, taking into account the character’s skill as well as the circumstances. If luck is a factor, I’ll determine it through dice roll. You will notice that there is no Speech (Charisma, etc.) skill category for your character: therefore, in situations where persuasion, charisma, or smooth words are required, what your character actually says (as well as the nature of the person being talked to) will be the only way to influence the outcome.
If your character dies, you can rejoin as a different character if you wish, as soon as there is a realistic point where the rest of the group could find your new character. The wait time may vary depending on the group’s situation, but I’ll try to reintegrate you as soon as possible.
Hunger
Based on your votes, the hunger system devised by Musicman247 will be used in the RP as a way of potentially adding realism. You will need to eat, drink, and sleep in order to survive, and how long you go without eating will affect what actions you can do.
SEPIA, derived from Knight Captain Kerr’s CASPIE system, stands for the five primary statistics that will govern most of what you can do in-game: Strength, Endurance, Perception, Intelligence, and Agility.
Strength= Raw physical strength. A high Strength is good for physical characters, and also affects what you can carry.
Endurance= Stamina and physical toughness. A character with a high Endurance will survive where others may not.
Perception= The ability to see, hear, taste and notice unusual things. A high Perception is important for a sharpshooter or scout.
Intelligence= Knowledge, wisdom and the ability to think quickly. A character with a high Intelligence will be able to have more knowledge of science and survival skills, and is a good candidate for a leader.
Agility= Coordination and the ability to move well. A high Agility is important for any active character.
Each attribute starts with a default value of 1, and then you will get 25 more points to distribute between all of the categories as you see fit (so it should add up to 30 in total). The highest value you can have for a skill is 10, and the lowest is 1.
Your Character
Here is the character sheet template for you to use. Try to be detailed and provide as much information as necessary.

Personality:
Background:
Extra Information: (put family/friends, pets, and anything else here)All the usual rules will apply, such as:
-Keep OOC posts under hide tags once the RP has started.
-No godmodding.
-Try your best to use proper spelling and grammar.
-One character per person.
-Characters must be approved by me. If you want to join after the RP has begun, or rejoin if you die, PM me about it.
-No Mary Sues. Your character will not be an in-their-prime health and safety expert who also knows engineering and physics, carries multiple weapons on their person, is in peak shape, and is a stone-cold logician.
As well as some extra ones that I want to add:
-Like I said before, all combat outcomes will be decided by me.
-Only one attack per post when in combat, unless they are actions that can (realistically) be done simultaneously.
-If you are unsure of whether or not an action is possible, want a better description of something, or notice that I’ve made an oopsie, don’t be afraid to talk to me about it. Use OOC hide tags, the General Roleplay Discussion Thread, or a PM, whichever you think is most appropriate for what you want to say.
Final Notes
-Don’t expect a fast-moving RP. I’ll be catering to the slowest common denominator. I’ll generally be waiting for everybody before I do entire-group posts, unless somebody is taking an unreasonably long time or they don’t have anything to say.
-Also, always keep in mind that this is an entirely open-world RP. I’m looking forward to seeing people think outside of the box, so don’t ever feel as if there’s a particular thing the DM wants you to do in a certain situation.
-Feel free to PM me at any time with any questions or thoughts you may have. I’m always listening.
-Finally, have fun! If you aren’t enjoying yourself, I’m not doing my job. And remember, since this is my first time DMing, any feedback will be greatly appreciated.
