Dragon, welcome. Weasel's is but one opinion, so please decide for yourself if you think this is a friendly community.
Also, comments like Weasel's are how we get new users who either decide not to stay, or immediately go on the defensive here. If we don't want that to happen, perhaps we should post accordingly. If you don't want to be nice and welcoming, perhaps there isn't much reason to post.

These forums. I've seen a lot that hasn't sit well with me personally, and I feel as thought I've reached a bit of resolution. As Avron has said before she left, a constant form of passive aggressiveness has been permanently brooding throughout these forums. You can't sign without having a snide 'It's ok we're joking chill out' conversation with someone.
Originally when Avron left, I was incredibly surprised. She was the nicest user here, and easily one of the overall nicest forum users I had ever met. That being said, when she left I began wonder why she had left, so I did some digging. The more I delved into this story, the more baffling it got. I have heard, from multiple users, that a forum administrator, Musicman24/7, had supposedly gotten a bit of a swelled head with his high rank. I've gotten bizarre replies and messages from him overtime, as well as these other users, that make us feel as though he is not quite fit for the position he currently is.
Now some of you may ask, "Why do you care about what the mods do or what happened behind closed doors? Just chill out and chat!" Well, a friend once told me that I'm a mentally hyperactive pieces. I can think about around 30 things at once, and I just can't shut out the part of me that knows I'm chatting with a two-faced person who has driven away, and displeased so many good members. It's as simple as that.
Now, why am I leaving? It's not because of any sole person or thing, rather all the things I've listed adding up, and for that reason, I'm out, permanently. Don't bother PM-ing me or anything like that, because I don't plan on ever signing in to this particular site again.
Farewell.
Edited to remove Avron's PM quotes, as I'm quite sure she did NOT give permission for these to become public knowledge. Any problems with my actions here can be brought to my (Believe), or scribbane's, attention. As he was the user who first drew this to our attention, and I was the Mod who took action.

Re: Welcomes and Goodbyes
Goodbye, Link. I'm sorry to see you leave; you were definitely the positive one.
With that, I'd like to say something:
When I was asked a few months ago if I would like change to come to UESPF, I of coursed answered yes. Why wouldn't? It's no secret that I've never really been a fan of moderation in general, but I also felt that it could be improved. Anything can be improved, right? We'll just discuss it. We'll give a little feedback, they'll give a little to us. We'll try to understand each other's positions. Even if nothing happens, we've said our piece.
But that's not what happened at all. Instead, I've come to a UESP where people are now bickering back and forth, verbally attacking each other, the tension can be felt here, and I'm thousands of miles away. It was easier to deal with in the beginning. Hearing about how fun the forums used to be. Hearing about how radical moderation has become. Seeing people, including me, willing to take up banners, acting as if we are warriors when we are not. We're just keyboard knights, here for a video game series, and this really isn't how it's supposed to be. This is, honestly, not what I wanted to see. UESPF meant something to me the moment I joined here, and it wasn't this. We shouldn't be fighting with each other.
I'm one of the most emotionless, sarcastic, and smart-mouthed people here, and even I can't take it anymore. This place honestly has some of the coolest people I've ever met, or likely ever to meet, and if I've never said that before, I apologize. If I've talked to you personally, you're one of those people that I respect, and that's not easy to become. It may not really mean anything, but I respect you, and I wanted you to know that. I think what really made me continue to comeback here was the knowledge that I would never get to speak to you guys again. To just chat as if we actually knew each other like old friends, because we kind of were in a way, you know? Even if you didn't see me in that way, and you probably didn't, I saw you in that way. To others, I apologize for any abrasiveness that I may have shown towards you, that wasn't the intent. I didn't mean to make your UESP experience any lesser than the one that I wanted for myself. You didn't deserve that, if I have shown you that, and I'm sorry. We should all get to come here to enjoy the Elder Scrolls and talk not just as fans, but as human beings who understand each other as human beings.
And I know that I've said it a few times before, whether jokingly or contemplatingly, but I think I might be done here. Not as a joke, not for a while, not in protest, and not because I want attention, but for a very long time, if not forever. I tried, I honestly tried, to be happy. To keep up the usual Br3ad-shtick of not caring, but I can't anymore. I do care, and I can admit that. I don't like seeing people that I would like to pretend are actually my friends fight amongst each other. And as the people that kept me here left one by one, and even Avron leaving which I took personally as fault of mine, I still do, it's become a lot easier for me. Gradually, for a long time, I've been coming here less and less for a reason; I've come to this conclusion: that I'm no good for you guys here at UESPF. I'm not the kind of forum user that you deserve or need. I can't be the kind of person that can help you find out info, or chat with sometimes. But I've also come to another: that UESPF isn't good for anyone. It isn't. I don't want to deter new users, but it's not a place that anyone should want to come to right now, if they came here to enjoy themselves or to meet new, great, and amazing people, though they are there if you look hard enough through the current bickering. It's a place that can turn the nicest of people into some of the most cynical, condescending, and hurtful. And that isn't what a video game forum should do. Me leaving here won't stop this, this is well pass any one person and I may have never been in the center to begin with, but it'll definitely stop this for me. I don't want to leave, I don't want to leave those that I talk to on the regular behind and never see them again, never speak to them again, but even more than that, I don't want to deal with what UESPF and I have become. Perhaps sometime in the future I might return. Once this has all ended, and after I've cooled down for awhile, but right now, it's become increasingly obvious that this is in the best interest of everyone involved, and so I won't agitate it anymore.
I can honestly say that I have enjoyed a lot of my time here. I wish you all well into the future, and I hope that you do me the same kindness, even if I don't deserve it. It honestly hurts me to leave this place behind, along with some of the best friends I'll probably ever make. I'll miss you guys. A lot. A lot of a lot. Deep down, I hope that somehow, somewhere, and someday that we might all meet again, and on that day I'll be happy, even though I know that it's not likely and near improbable.
Goodbye.

Bye Link, you'll be missed.
Bye Bread. Whilst we have had our differences in the past, you'll be missed and i'm actually annoyed that the recent stuff is starting to drive away users.
I really hope that the bickering and passive aggressiveness will stop soon as i don't want to see this place turn into one of those forums instead of what UESPF was before the stuff happened. Now, I'm not going to name anyone but i feel that if it doesn't stop soon, a lot of people will leave and i really don't want to see that. I hope we can resolve this soon and no-one else leaves because of it.

Br3ad, Bread, Br3admax. Now this hit me by surprise. I'm really sorry you feel like you leave, and I'm going to miss you, man. I hope you decide to come back in the near-distant future.

Wow, pretty soon all the newbies(me included) will be the only ones here. Hey, try to stick with the ES discussions and stay out of the BS sections. That is my advice to the newest peeps, and you seasoned folk would love life better if you did not take the bait.
Br3ad, you will be back to help with questions I hope. until then Thank you and happy travels.
Welcome all the newest members, you will get the hang of it soon.

Let's not bring the drama in here, guys. Posting a fiery comment doesn't help the situation any. If you want to post about yourself leaving, fine. If others want to comment: do it with respect. Back to helloes and good-byes.
