Re: Will you buy The Elder Scrolls: Online?
This topic makes me angry, simply because the OP missed the opportunity to set the poll options as:
Yes.
No.
Maybe.
I don't know.
Can you repeat the question?
It is a waste, my friend.

Strictly speaking, a tomato isn't a vegetable. It's actually a kind of dolphin

Re: Will you buy The Elder Scrolls: Online?
I might buy it. There aren't too many games I think I'm going to get this year, so ESO would give me something new to play. I'll probably wait a couple days/weeks after it's released, so as to see the reviews - whether it's any good, if it's an authentic ES experience, etc. - before I decide.
Start the groove.

Re: Will you buy The Elder Scrolls: Online?
Now that it is coming to the next gen consoles, most likely. I'm not much of a PC gamer, but playing TESO on my console? Sounds good to me.

If you mean purchasing the disc, yes. Purchasing an account/ID E.g. Konami ID for online, then perhaps, yes also.
But if you mean... regularly, paying, per-month..., goodbye TESO.

Re: Will you buy The Elder Scrolls: Online?
Never played an MMO.
I only considered this MMO because Elder Scrolls is in the name, a marketing ploy that looks like it's working.
If reviews of the single player experience are less than good, I'll pass.
EDIT Damn the reviews, I'll not pay subscription fees!

Re: Will you buy The Elder Scrolls: Online?
Since I am not a big fan of shooters, and since most of the games on market are shooters, I will probably try TESO; I love The Elder Scrolls series more than any other game.

I just heard it's going to be on consoles. That's tempting but I'll stick with PC.

Let me just update my instance in this matter now: I'm not going to buy it. Unless it becomes Free To Play later or Buy To Play, because of reasons.

Re: Will you buy The Elder Scrolls: Online?
I've been in a guild waiting for this game for almost a year now so... yeah
Re: Will you buy The Elder Scrolls: Online?
I might look into buying it somewhere post-launch, but 15e per month kinda hurts already tight student budget. I'll be getting extra cash until next year though, so a brief period is definitely possible.

Re: Will you buy The Elder Scrolls: Online?
Combat feels clunky, bows are uneffective, payment model is awful...
I dunno, when people flip [&@%!] about their payment model and they have to change to BTP only, then I'll buy it.
Before that? Not a chance. I had high hopes and am severely disappointed with how much potential they've butchered for people who don't have an infinite bank account.

Re: Will you buy The Elder Scrolls: Online?
I WANT to, but I am unsure.
1. With work and other responsibilities I don't know how much I'd be able to actually play the game, and I'm paying for every day.
2. I don't feel like I can justify or afford buying a PS4. I don't have a lot of money and I've lost interest in playing many games anymore besides Elder Scrolls.
3. I'm thinking of getting this for the PC, but I have no prior knowledge of PC gaming and I will have to figure out how to play this on my computer when it comes out.

Re: Will you buy The Elder Scrolls: Online?
Now that I know their pricing model (at least what I make out from accumulated posts), pay, rent, buy dlcs, I doubt I will get it. I will probably buy Fallout 4 instead.
Still unsure though, because they may change that model, doubt it though.

We have to buy the DLC? It's not an obligatory handout for paying to play?Jeelius-Tei wrote:Now that I know their pricing model (at least what I make out from accumulated posts), pay, rent, buy dlcs, I doubt I will get it. I will probably buy Fallout 4 instead.

I have to say, they are trying to financially kill the Elder Scrolls fanbase.

Re: Will you buy The Elder Scrolls: Online?
With many MMOs, most 'DLC' is indeed included with the subscription, and is rolled out as a patch (like the Skyrim updates, but with substantially more content than those had). The "DLC-sized content every 4-6 weeks" will be part of this.Leckan wrote:We have to buy the DLC? It's not an obligatory handout for paying to play?
It is likely there will also be large-scale 'Expansions' released less frequently; say one every year or two. If you have to pay for any extra content, it's likely to be only these large expansion packs (say 'TESIV: Shivering Isles'-sized and larger) that you might have to pay for.

Re: Will you buy The Elder Scrolls: Online?
Oh no, I did not say you have to buy the dlc, I just stated that there will be pay dlcs on top of the mandatory subscription+purchase. But like Enodoc said, most will probably be free "expansions", and not true dlcs.

Updating my stance on this - no I will probably not buy the game.
Not a massive fan of MMO's, even if they are Elder Scrolls... Can't afford it anyway.

Re: Will you buy The Elder Scrolls: Online?
I will. Ever since I was introduced to the Elder Scrolls series with Oblivion, I have loved it. I'm curious to see how they handle a multi-player version, but more than that, I want to see the history of Tamriel with my own eyes.
Oh for the love of little green tomatoes...

Re: Will you buy The Elder Scrolls: Online?
It's not really going to be a multi-player Elder Scrolls. It's really going to just be an MMO with some Elder Scrolls elements, and Elder Scrolls lore.
