That's part of the problem, because I got a high enough score on my SAT as well to skip placements tests, and that screwed me because I didn't learn the material. I learned how to take the test instead, so I'm currently struggling with a lot of calculus in my classes, same with my english classes. I can write for a passing grade, but I have a poor grasp on how to write a comprehensive academic argument because I didn't learn how, again I studied to work around it, not work through it. And that's the problem with some of these standardized tests, they don't reinforce your knowledge or even accurately translate your academic level to something measurable. It grills you on irrelevant questions, and if you don't do well in it's skewed grading system you're branded a defective product and forced to work harder than you need to just compensate for a score that doesn't reflect your actual potential. With tests like the SAT and ACT, a good part of your future resides in the ability to work a system, not test the knowledge it claims to be testing.

Without wanting to offend any americans here, I never understood why you don't have A-level style written exams, rather than those multiple-choice, fill-in-the-dots abominations that you have.

Today I came home from a weekend getaway at freezing cold Cape Cod. I did however, eat a delicious sandwich, lose practically all the pressure at my temples, get relaxed, and practice driving at the Harding's Beach parking lot.

Now it's off to the irradiated coastal marshes of Maryland to kill some hillbilly mutants in Fallout 3, but first some LOTRO.

After that (or in between) I will have pizza for dinner, I hope it isn't burned!

Today was a big day for me. Our little class of 9 students graduated from Anchorage's first Ayurveda program. Whoohoo! It has been a glorious day of Indian food, cake, presents, tears, and plenty of pictures. Our teacher set up a spiritual ceremony for us and we chanted for 45 minutes. Its nicer than one would think. We each brought donations to our class altar. We also went around in a circle and each sent our loving intentions on what we're considering with our practices and spoke of our experiences in the program. I can't believe its been 2 years! Its been a lovely day. I am so proud of myself and my classmates for completing such a challenging program.

I get to purchase my business licence on Monday. My business name? Bhakti Ayurveda, devoted to balancing your body's well being. <3

Friday I had a Halloween party at the neighbors'. Saturday I spent making edits to a website I created a few months ago.
Today I made *most* of my bow for my Tauriel costume.

So yeah, I've been helping move my dad's entire business for the past 5 days.. this means industrial gear and the lighted of loads would be Neon which may I add is more than easy to break.. an expensive..

But yeah, 4 days back to back, managed to have some help with some friends for 2 of the days... which may add is ironic they got paid $30 each and I was doing free labor :/

But anyways after all that heavy lifting and such.. it never really hit me hard till now... when I got out of the shower... and noticed majority of my ribcage is browsed up badly, with my upper arms slightly... so that explains why my sides hurt so much...
So now I must choose.. strong painkiller.. or whiskey... mmmh

Other than that, I played some Spore, lifted weights, and went for a walk.

Yesterday I woke up, did the show I'm in for little kids, went home, napped. Napped. Napped. I then played Portal 2 for a while and went to the evening performance of my show. I then got back, played Portal 2 until later than I should have and slept.

Went to do my shift at the charity shop i volunteer at. Twas mostly dead. Stomach tried to play up. Did the rest of this week's shopping and picked up AC:BF. It is excellent and much better then AC. It doesn't drag out. So far.

Did stuff around the house, bought tickets for the first showing of Catching Fire at my theater, got my elf ears in the mail, and went to the video gamers' club.

Didn't do too much today. Just played Skyrim, did some reading, lifted weights, went for a walk, played more Skyrim, made tacos, watched another episode of Face Off... Yeah. Not much. I was just slightly annoyed during the day. My only half decent set of headphones quit, so now I have to use the crappy little things that came with my iPod. They're painful.

Complaints about headphones aside, I'm off to bed. I was up late last night and I'm tired. Have a headache, too. I sneezed so much earlier that it gave me a headache.

Just fought off a virus that McAfee failed to detect or stop. It's the "qone8" virus, and that thing is annoying, with the apparent potential to [&@%!] your computer up. So heads up McAfee users, and everyone else I suppose, you won't catch this one with your protection. It's apparently one of those freeware viruses, but I don't know what I downloaded that it would have gotten me. Anyway, you'll know you have it if you restart your browser (any browser) and you have a weird new qone8 homepage.

I was gonna go to sleep like an hour ago, but instead I was dealing with that. Thought I would share and if anyone reads this, hope you're alert now. If you happen to have the damn thing and can't get rid of it, shoot me a PM and I'll do my best to help.
