Re: Pokemon!
I played around a bit with each starter before settling on Fennekin. I'm a bit dismayed at how many pokes evolve by trade(four that I've counted). Loving it, though.

Re: Pokemon!
One gripe: You level up way too fast. I don't think any battle in this game is going ever be a challenge. I have got a level 20 combusken and frogadier just getting into the 1st city after the 1st gym.

Re: Pokemon!
Too fast? I sorta doubt they changed the algorithm that determines Exp. gain from the previous games in X and Y. I love the beginning of the game, great place to get your Pokemon leveled up, and the intro is actually interesting. To me, X and Y are the best things to ever happen to Pokemon ever, they're just perfect.

Re: Pokemon!
On the one hand, the quicker leveling makes it a bit tough to get XP off wild pokes. On other hand, B&W was quite similar; a system they changed for B2&W2, much to my annoyance. It took a lot more grinding in 2 to stay ahead of the game.

I'm not seeing what you mean, it was always hard to get XP off wild pokemon in every game.Taters wrote:On the one hand, the quicker leveling makes it a bit tough to get XP off wild pokes. Re: Pokemon!
Well no, Gen 1 through 4 you got a fixed amount of xp depending on what pokemon and the level of that pokemon - in B and W they changed it so that your pokemon's level had an impact on the xp gained, making the grind take much longer.
Re: Pokemon!
I bought Pokémon X and Y on release date. It's, like, the best game ever. It's the best Pokémon title I've played since Pokémon Gold and Silver on the Gameboy. Like, THAT GOOD.

That's my character.

Nope, I passed on Bulbasaur. I'm a Charmander guy, myself! That was my first ever Pokémon in Pokémon Red.

To further displease you, I feel the need to say that Bulbasaur is my least favorite starter in Pokémon Red. :p

Re: Pokemon!
I passed on Bulbasaur too...even though I already have a fire and a water starter and a grass would make more sense. I like charmander that much
Speaking of like, I love the new affection mechanic. It actually effects battles now. For example my charmander healed itself of paralysis in the middle of battle because of high affection

I still haven't played very much yet. ^^' That's what happens when you're in your senior year of college, though, not much free time. I liked Fennekin and its evolutions, but I started with Froakie because of the Torchic event and the fact that I like Pyroar, and I also plan to get Charmander out of the three gen 1 starters because Charizard X is awesome.

I need to add all you dudes on my 3DS. PM me if you wanna add me.
I'm with born2beagator, Pokémon Amie and Super Training are both awesome additions to the series.

Re: Pokemon!
Yep, and you get to choose a Kanto starter at the beginning of the game in addition to a 6th gen one!
I'm a little confused with Super training, since it's looking to me like, unlike EVs, you can have as many EVs or "points" in a certain stat as you want.

Re: Pokemon!
Charmander FTW!
I'm not sure a charmander is worth getting a 3DS and a freshly released game at it's highest price though...
