ES Time

Post by Zephyr »

Working on my CotM story got me wondering about how time is measured in TES, but I haven't found much about it. Skyrim's journal and wait mechanic show it as am/pm. Are there any actual references to time of day, in any ES game, or is it just a game mechanic? How do people in Tamriel keep track of the time?

I would say it's a game thing but the people of TES do track time via sundials and magic. As well as the position of the sun. Or know the basics and just use 4 things to tell others the time. Dawn, Day, Dusk and Night.

In Oblivion, Midnight is referenced in the quest Paranoia.

Thanks, guys! I think the more general system makes sense.

I didn't think of magic, though. Could a spell show something more specific, like an effect to represent the current hour? Then it would essentially be like another language.
