Today I finished the Connecticut Driver's Manual. I was glad I read it, and I did learn a few things too. I plan to get my permit some time next week. The damn DMV closes on the 11th and reopens on the 15th because of Columbus day (why the hell do they get such a long time off?).

^ I'm gonna call it now: you'll forget half the info in that book but it won't matter. I remember taking that test here in FL. I had that book and for fun I'd quiz my parents to which they wouldn't know many of the answers. They're both 'good' drivers (in the sense that they haven't been in wrecks or ticketed).

Good example: I have no clue how to properly approach a roundabout. Frankly I don't think anyone else over here does. A 4-way was replaced by a roundabout around 6 months ago and it's really crazy going through it. It's exactly like that scene in Independence Day where the mothership defends itself by sending out all the little fighters and they run into those F-16s or whatever they were.

I'm assuming nobody here gets that analogy... But it's a good excuse to bring up that phenomenal movie. Greatest. Movie. Ever.

I disagree. It's good but it's not the greatest movie ever. I think there were rumours of a sequel to it floating around the net a few months back. Also, did the aliens forget to install an anti-virus software? ;)

Yep, the roundabouts are everywhere here now.

Well, if they close at the end of business on Friday the 11th, they will be observing Columbus Day on Monday the 14th and reopening on Tuesday the 15th. The DMV isn't open on the weekends so this isn't unreasonable.

The DMV in Anchorage moves pretty fast. Granted, there's several of them in town but the main one has always been speedy. And the workers are nice, too. Totally not what you'd think to experience in a DMV.

The sad part is, the next season will be around when you're just starting this one.

I just finished catching up on TWD a few days ago, and my body is ready for Season 4. Since I have hockey every Sunday night when the episodes premiere, I'll have to record most of them to watch the day after. But hey, I'm okay with that - I didn't even know I had AMC until a couple weeks ago!
Start the groove.

Walking Dead was fun until it became all about love and [&@%!]... I didn't make it through season 2... too much soap opera, not enough gore or even zombies...

I'm pretty sure I just went to the best restaurant in the world and I only had to wait an hour for a table. Basically I had an alcohol-free Cosmopolitan with my mind-blowing four-course meal and it still managed to taste like the real thing. And I've never met table staff who seemed so genuinely pleased to have me in their establishment. Sure, it was an act, but like I give a damn.

The downside is that I may have to go hungry for the next two weeks because it pretty much cleaned me out. But oh my god the place genuinely changed my worldview. Its like that SCP which is able to provide the user with the literal 'best meal in the world' except there's less suicide involved. That was an obscure reference, and I apologise.

On every other week, I would say "Yes, I'll do"

On Halloween week itself, I say "Didn't I do this crap already before?"
Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.

Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.

When I first saw the Walking Dead, I always thought it was going to be some sort of ''The Lone Ranger, with zombies!'' kind of program, where he rides around with the floating goal of ''I need to find my family'' and along the way, gets into various situations with zombies and survivors. It may sound silly to some of you folks, but I was really looking forward to it.

I watched the first season all the way through, it was ok. But not really enough to suck me in, so I didn't bother with the next seasons.
