Last night I dreamt that I woke up, had an itch in my right ear, magically obtained a q-tip and tried to itch the inside of my ear with it. It then started bleeding, so being the genius I am, I rolled over and went back to my dream's sleep.

I've had a series of recurring dreams in which a terrorist organization attacks a major metropolis.
Scary as [&@%!], so watch out Los Angeles, New York City, and Chicago.

Some notes on dreams:

I noticed that a dream ends (or pretends to end) as soon as I notice logical inconsistences and therefore notice that I'm dreaming.
For example, if death occurs, I wake up (or think I do) as it would be inconsistent for me to be alive.
When I was younger, I remembered dreaming about things that would likely force me to wake up nowadays.
Is my world view conflicting with my imagination? Is it a prison for my mind?

On lucid dreams (and dreams in general): Would I, as a subject, control the dream, or rather dream about having control, being the object?

"Lucid" refers to the fact that you're aware you're in a dream, rather than the fact that you're controlling it, I'm pretty sure. I've had times when I knew I was dreaming and haven't had control, but more often it just seems to go hand in hand.

Two nights ago I had a dream that I drove the car off the road and had to get it towed. I have car crash dreams every now and then thanks to rolling the car two or three years ago.
Last night I went straight from programming to dreaming I was programming. In my dream it was going rather badly, though. I actually woke up at one point between dreams and had to sort out what was the dream and what was reality.

I've had that happen before, do something before going to sleep, dreaming about it, and then having to sort fact or fiction... though for me that tends to be texting people or posting here...

I had a dream I was hired to kill, of all things, Satan.
The only thing I remember is the appearance of the thing, when I had to try to kill it.
It was just an abstract mass of fire and ensuing darkness, and it just emanated fear, almost as if it was pulsing out of the thing.

Scary ass dream.

I had a weird dream today, which took place within the game ''Bioshock Infinite''. I'll put this in spoilers just in case.
Spoiler:
I don't remember everything about it, but I do remember a couple of details here and there. I remember that Booker DeWitt appeared to be exploring some mansion in Columbia; apparently belonging to Zachary Comstock. And I remember him getting in a fight with a much younger and stronger looking Comstock, who managed to defeat Booker using various weapons. He leaned down over Booker (remember, all of this is in 1st person view, start to finish) and then Booker blacked out.

So he wakes up later, and all of a sudden he is broken out of a jail cell by a young girl. Now this was not Elizabeth. According to my brain, and some talking in the dream, this whole event was happening within an alternate reality within the game itself (as is common with the game), and in this reality, a non-sterile Comstock had a biological daughter with the same woman Booker did originally, and still went on to become the same person.

The daughter in the dream was apparently named ''Anna'', and not Elizabeth, and she had blonde hair and was about 15 years old rather than being 19 (odd, I know). However, in-game, she seemed to serve the same purpose as Elizabeth except for the ''tear-opening'' abilities, which I'm uncertain whether she had or not.

The dream led through a bunch of different areas, among them an odd office where Booker found - of all things - an audio diary of Frank Fontaine. Honestly, I don't remember what it was about, all I remember was that I enjoyed it greatly.
Freaky, but fun.

I had a dream, me and a friend had come up on a garage-type building. Thing is, it was inside a place I know by the beach. We peeked inside the building and saw what was a counterfeit operation. Curious, we went inside to check it out. About that time we hear some HOGS pull up, and we freak out. These bikers (looking like stereo-type) spotted us and we scattered. Only thing is I got caught, and shot, and killed!
So much for the myth you won't die in your dreams. Whole out of body experience and everything. I remember clearly it only burned at the entry wound for a second.
This dream happened years ago and I really still recall much of it. (reoccuring)

I often have dreams with overarching story lines - as in, I'll have one dream, and then a seemingly unrelated dream another night (or perhaps the same night, I sometimes have multiple dreams in a single night), and then on the final night, the two "plots" will link up. I feel like this is only going to get worse after seeing Cloud Atlas... I also redream the same dreams up to the point at which I realize I'm in the same dream, and like some bad sci-fi movie, knowing the outcome effects the whole timeline and the dream ends up going off in an entirely different direction.

I get quite a few of these as well, but I'm never able to remember all of the details. All I end up getting is that the dreams happened, and that they were connected, but I can't ever remember the connections.

I think I was in some kind of video game where the objective was to breed and raise different kinds of giant snails. I was almost done raising the perfect award winner snail when an [&@%!] came out of nowhere and poked all snails with a pointed stick.

On that day snailkind received a grim reminder. They all lived in fear of [&@%!], and were disgraced to live in these cages they called shells.

My snail breeding days were over.

I had a dream a while back where I was female (Didn't see myself but I knew I was. Not that strange anyway.) and I was in the sitting room of my house. I heard someone in the kitchen so I went to check it out. There were two burglars there stealing our stuff and they picked up our red screwdriver and told me to stay there until they left and not to follow them. A few seconds later they left I went to close the door from the kitchen to the hall, which is the way they left. But as I got there one of them came back and stabbed me in the chest with the screwdriver. I fell backwards to the ground and after a few seconds died and woke up. But for some reason as I was dying I was really annoyed that it was my own screwdriver that they stabbed me with.
So we have come to solve every squabble in the village personally?

I had a dream that I was playing a weird type of Morrowind where stuff other people were doing on other saves affected npc's disposition towards me. So the only way to be able to talk to people, sell, etc, was to start hunting down other players and kill them.

I dreamt that my sideburns had grown slightly too bushy so I decided to cut them. I searched my entire house in the search for a small pasir of scissors to use, but they were gone.

My Skyrim character Alarra, who I took my forum name from, also made an appearance in my dreams last night. Something involving a ship and a storm.

I just had a dream where I lit up and smoked a cigarette for the first time.

Then again I, having never smoked a cigarette before in my life, had no idea what one should taste like. So the one in my dream was tasteless.

You're asking me to put burning leaves to my mouth. How screwed is that?

This will be long and weird. Most of my dreams are.. this is the most terrifying nightmare I've ever had. It is morbid and a bit gory. It was a couple of months ago and its mostly about my dachshund pup Dexter. I believe it was set off because I was called back to work for the first time after getting him and came home to him having a gimpy leg. Hes fi e now, pulled a ligament somehow, but I was sure he broke it and was so frantic at the time. After hours E-vet visit and all. Well anyways.
Hidden:
My fiance and I were in the upstairs of my grandparents home. On the floor were about six different Dexters, motionless, in varying degrees of decay. One was sunken in and dried out, almost mummified looking. Another had fresh lacerations all over his body, deep, large gashes just everywhere. The others stages in between those two. But one looked unharmed, just curled up as if sleeping. Next to them was the corpse of an old man, obviously dead. His skin was pale and lips blue, face gaunt. I wanted to get his body out of the way so I heaved him up and into a closet that was nearby. I placed him standing up facing out, like the draugr in skyrim. When I started to back out his eyes opened wide and he grabbed my arm very hard amd yelled. "What are you doing!!?" I screamed and then he started to laugh and kept saying "I got your aaarrmm! I got your aaarrmm!" My fiance came and smashed his head in with a hammer. And I shut the closet door very fast. When I returned my attention to the Dexters they came to life.. sort of. All were dying and suffering, squirming and twitching and writhing in pain. I was horrified, and snatched up the Dexter that was still curlled up unmoving. Hopingthat he was the right one and that he wasnt dead. I ran downstairs with him into the livingroom and my grandmother started to talk with me. I spoke to her and then looked back down at Dexter in my arms and suddenly cuts, hidden by his hair began to ooze blood everywhere. They were all about 5 inches long, on his back, neck- like a slit throat, stomach, all over. My world was crashing in my dream, my heart was sunk lower than I ever have felt. It was a feeling of pure horror and anguish, and it was so real. I could feel the hot blood soaking my arms and chest. I screamed for my grandma to call the vet and my fiance and I ran out to the truck. I drove. I backed out of the driveway and started to drive as fast as I could, but the road was blocked by two trucks parked right in the way. I freaked out but could do nothing, time was invaluable. I put it in reverse sped backwards down the whole road to leave the other way. In my dream I was going at least 50mph in reverse. My dream cut and we were there. I ran inside and screamed, "SOMEONE HELP ME MY PUPPY IS DYING!" The vet came out, a woman in a long white doctors coat and she took him from my arms. She took him to a metal table, layed him down, and drew a curtain around him and came back to me and said "I'm so sorry, there's nothing I can do." I dropped to the floor and screamed and cried, and just whaled and bawled. I kept thinking, why is this happening to me, why did this happen" as Dexter lay bleeding to death on the other side of that curtain. Again, I felt my whole world xollapsing around me, real raw emotion, emense pain, and a hollow feeling as if my heart was ripped out of my chest. It was so real, and again I could feel. I felt the cold concrete floor against my skin as I laid there in a ball sobbing with my arms over my face. I felt the blood on my arms now deathly cold, and the hot burning tears on my face. And then I heard the vet say, "Well I need to leave now if I want to make my vacation before the storm hits."
And then I woke up screaming, drenched in sweat, shaking uncontrollably. And then the tears came as I frantically searched through the mess of sheets and blankets, almost yelling Dexter's name. And then he got up from a little chair by my bed (he jumped out in the night) yawned and stretched, and I grabbed him up and cried, and cried, and seriously just held him and cried forever. And then i loved on him forever and thats it. Happy ending. Lol

Oh and I woke my daughter up, who was in bed with me. And she was like "What's wrong mommy?" And I said nothing was wrong I had a bad dream that Dexter got hurt. And she said "Ohh........ Mom.. Its going to be okay, you don't have to cry. It was just a dream, and Dexters fine, see?" Wisdom of a five year old. :)
