Does anyone know of a source for the hint book that came with the deluxe edition?
I am really interested in the mechanics behind the game and the main sources lack a lot of information on how things work. EG, Acrobats have boosts to Climbing, Jumping, Running etc but they don't say what the other classes get.
The only on-line sources I can find for the Codex Scientia are fake links that try to trick you into downloading some dodgy utility.
Some guy in Russia is trying to sell the complete deluxe edition on e-bay for $999.00 and declined my overly generous offer.
Cheers!

Re: Codex Scientia
Thanks,
Unfortunately, I've seen that review and it doesn't say much. Personally, I would actually like to know the mechanics and don't consider such data "dross".
Cheers.

Re: Codex Scientia
You could try contacting Bethesda and see if they'd be so kind as to scan a copy.

Re: Codex Scientia
That's an idea. But if they could do that, surely they'd sell it as a pdf?

Re: Codex Scientia
Who would buy it? It's worth a shot, seeing as they've already released the game itself into the public domain.

Re: Codex Scientia
Hmm,
Well, I did find a scan of the Codex Scientia on some russian website
not so long ago. If the moderators wish to erase this message, please
at least get the (darn) guide and decide later if you can upload it,
because I do not think Bethesda would be interested, mostly because
it's too complicated to go in the past and reach people to attempt agree
on the rights for a re-release. They would have done it by now, really.
Oops: this forum refuses that I post a link to Sendspace.
Should I just shut up about it?

Re: Codex Scientia
Well, we have a strict no-piracy policy, so if it's not a material that is available for free from Bethesda, then we really can't allow it to be shared on the UESP forums. It goes against our partnership and relationship with the game studios, of course. I haven't seen any evidence of the Codex Scientia being offered up for free yet, so I'm going to have to say no, sadly!

Re: Codex Scientia
I see. That's probably why it isn't here already, anyway.
At least now people should know that the place to look for it is
not here, but that it does circulate. Can't say I really understand
Bethesda anyway. Just the fact they won't release the Cd-Rom
version of Arena is ackward.
