Alien wrote:Ya the movie will probably suck. I can't believe that author is actually making the same book, just from a different character's perspective. It is outrageous.

Sorry for the off-topicness.
Nonono, I didn't mean the movie WILL suck (although since it's got an absolutely HORRENDOUS CHOICE of an actress to cast as Bella... it probably will... and wtf is up with the actor for James over-acting EVERYTHING?!... anyway...), I just meant that if Stephenie did certain things in Breaking Dawn, nobody- and I mean NOBODY- would go see the movie unless they'd never read the book. That cuts out like... 90% of the revenue the movie would make whether it sucks or not (I'm hoping it doesn't... but I just seriously can NOT agree with their pick for Bella... nononono. Might have something to do with my mindset that one of my best friends fits Bella to a tee... except for the being involved with vampires and werewolves part... >.>).

As for what Stephenie's doing with Edward's book. You just don't understand how amazing that will be. Trust me Alien, if you liked the Twilight series, Edward's book will f-ing blow your mind. Can you not imagine a hint of what Edward went through in his own mind and with his family when Bella arrived in Forks? (Seriously, a hint is all any of us would be able to manage unless we all had an insane blood-feeding lust for the love of our immortal lives... )

*twitch* Must... read....

Dunno. The biggest complaint I hear from the people that read the book is that it was written for a relatively young audience....

.... Which translates roughly into "Why is there nothing above PG13???" (or even more explicitly stated depending on the person saying that; I just think that uesp has censors for those kinds of things).

Lol yeah, the author wrote it for a young audience, but it's nothing adults wouldn't care to read.

There is one thing in particular though that probably sent a bazillion fangirls into a sexually frustrated frenzy when the author didn't let it happen in Eclipse and probably (only a guess, I haven't read Breaking Dawn yet  ) either didn't go into detail about it in the fourth book (much like the Roleplay thread rule of fading to black if there absolutely NEEDS to be an intimate scene), or still didn't have it happen. Haha... my sister was mad as hell at Eclipse when it didn't happen.

But for non-sexually-related stuff, the series does have quite a few bloody moments in it, and if you have a good imagination, some disturbing sounds, images and smells (end of Eclipse, lol) too.

But you know what my biggest complaint of the book is? I'm ashamed to share Native American ancestry with Jacob Black. :x I hate him. ***SPOILER*** And it's because he has no concept of respect or honor, and that makes me immensely angry that he exists.

Ya Jacob really was one my most hated characters of the book(s), like when he ***SPOILER***
kept on saying "Bella loves me, she just doesn't know it yet."

***This Entire Post Is A Spoiler***

Actually what did it for me was forcing himself on her the way he did... and then telling her he'd let himself die on purpose if she didn't kiss him. Because honestly, I'm in the same boat as him in reality with someone trying to deny their feelings for me, but you don't see me forcing myself on her or threatening to kill myself trying to prove it. :x (I don't mean anything explicit by the phrase "forcing himself", he just kept on kissing her and not letting her get away when he did.)

I know the response is very late, but here's my thing. :P

Name: Race of the Dragons.

Plot: A pair of orphans get drawn into some strange world that holds a close resemblance to the fantasy we know of, with dragons, trolls, elves, and the like for inhabitants, and then become friends to two dragons they meet; but both of which are powerful leaders of two entirely different cultures, and are willing to kill each other over some magical thing named the Electric Orb, as their people's face one that can't be solved without supernatural assistance.

The immediate protagonists are Joseph (One of the orphans), Sarah (the other orphan), Ebrek (the dragon patriarch of his society), and Arisis (the dragon matriarch of her society). The less obvious protagonists are Saaj (a gargoyle who made the world that they do their adventuring in), the Electric Orb (It acts as the world's battery, as the world's god. Saaj did a lot of negotiating with it to convince it to be a battery god, if you think of it that way.)

http://www.raceofthedragons.com/ Website to prove it too. You saw nothing of the in-completeness and out of date-ness. No I'm not in the 8th grade, I'm in the 9th grade, and I'm 14, not 13. >_> Those pictures are also out of date.

Yay... we can be Novel buddies!

I suddenly came up with a Key Mechanic, and a Name, but I absolutely suck at writing seriously... I entered a short story competition at my school, you had to write about "The Encounter", they expected a horror story, so I gave 'em a bit of Douglas Adams-ish-ness! HAHAHAHAHA! (and I came second... although there was a rumour that first place copied her story off the internet)

I'll tell you chapter one of my Novel, since I decided to keep that, and I know it off by heart. I think I might break the fourth wall a few times in it though, just for laughs.

Chapter One
Sleep.

I slept.
Travelling the same course, I felt myself stir, and knew my awakening was at hand.
Still I slept.

Dramatic huh?

As for what I'm reading, I think I'm going to re-read Reaper Man.

Keep your progress with it slow, and try to add a lot of filler details, and you should be good. (Filler details as in taking note of everything you're thinking of.)

Academ's Fury, also by Jim Butcher. I prefer the Dresden Files, to be honest, but this is still a really awesome series. Definite future purchase for me.

I know it isn't quite appropriate to just post to complain... but I hate Jacob Black so much.... I finally got around to starting Breaking Dawn last night... and I've read through about half of it now... and I hate him... so... completely... much (and for an even MORE specific reason than I had before).

Good book though... by far the most adult of them. O.o Anyone with a decent imagination would consider this an automatic 'R' rating if it was ever made into a movie. At least if they did it right it would be.

:x Stephenie Meyer... I wish to send you hate-mail. :x :x :x

I just finished Memoirs of a Geisha, I'd somehow managed to forget that I was reading it when there was about 20 pages left :?
Btw, Cactus, how's the story coming along?

Although not the kind of stuff I normally read, it was okay. I forgot I'd even read it until you mentioned it, Mrs. T.

Not as well as I'd like, but it's coming along. So far you're house has been destroyed by a freak storm, you've been struck by lightning, and drenched in fresh animal blood. So yknow, pretty good.

I'm still working on Academ's Fury (ha! on topic)

I'm considering reading the V for Vendetta comics, my brother can get them for me but don't ask how  Though apart from Elfquest I've never actually read comics, so I'm not sure... Any one know if it's worth reading?

While I'm pretty sure it is very worth reading (if the movie was based off of it and became that great). However, it is pretty much aimed at the people of the 70s and the political conflicts that went on at that time.

If that doesn't bother you, go ahead...

...and get me a copy.

Woah... I was completely oblivious to the fact that there were V for Vendetta comics. I'm gonna be reading those as soon as I can get my hands on some. :Twisted Evil:

And I'm pleased to say that Breaking Dawn is amazing. (I honestly don't feel that way about anything unless it can make me hate it just as much as I love it. )

And now... I wait for the third Inheritance book... I hope it isn't bad. (Or did it come out already and I'm just amazingly ignorant of it because of the Twilight series...?)
