Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
I can't remember what I did this morning, but in the afternoon, I know I had to do some shopping. Forgot a few things on the weekend that needed to be picked up. Plus, we had to meet my brother at the vet for his nuisance of a dog's last shots. Apparently he decided to bring the kids of the woman he lives with. They kept chatting away and one of them tried to steal a cat toy.
From what I've heard, one of their cats had kittens. -For some reason, I just tried to spell cat as Kat, and kittens as Cittens.- Only one survived.
What happened to the others? Well, let's see... One was killed by a python that escaped from its cage. A couple of others were mauled to death by a vicious little Chihuahua cross (of all things). The kids think they "got sick and died."
Somehow, I doubt that one remaining kitten will survive. Especially in that pig sty of a house and in the hands of careless children who evidently haven't been taught hygiene (not to mention manners). I pity anything that has to live in that place. Well, except for the people. They're the ones who cause the mess. They seem to lack the basic ability to clean up after themselves. It's disgusting.
I really think that somebody should come and take away all their animals. That place isn't fit for humans, never mind animals that are much more fragile than any person. Also, the animals should all be spayed/neutered to stop future litters of kittens/puppies from being conceived in that horror of a house. That is clearly no place for baby animals of any kind. Have some sense, people. Blasts.
Anyway, I came home after that and decided to play some Skyrim.
I tried to let the Hedgehog out (this hedgehog, by the way, came from the same house of horrors mentioned above. I consider it a rescue) for a wander around the house, but everybody just wanted to scare it. Leave it alone. The critter is timid enough without all of you trying to give it a freakin' heart attack. I had to put it back in its tank because it became too frightened to move. Next time, I'll wait until my father is gone. He's the one who did most of the scaring. Bloody fool.
Hmph. It's time for me to go to bed now. I plan on cleaning the hedgehog's tank tomorrow, along with the wheel it insists upon crapping on. I also have to mix more food for my guppy fry. I've run out, so they've been getting plain crushed flakes. That's a good portion of what I give them anyway, though I mix in some freeze dried worms, shrimp/krill, and algae disks. All crushed so the tiny fish can eat the mixture.

That's awful! Sadly, i'm not surprised by your brother due to the various things that you've mentioned. I can't believe that they would find scaring a timid creature entertaining! That's [&@%!] disgraceful and your brother should be banned from owning pets as he doesn't seem to care or look after them.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
In this case, it wasn't my brother. It was the people he lives with. It's their animals that aren't properly cared for. As far as I know, my brother does care for his. All his snakes, scorpions (because he has multiple baby scorpions that he plans on selling to the pet store), and his dog. We seem to wind up with his dog rather frequently because the people he lives with (mostly the [&@%!] who sees herself as in charge of the place) don't like her. Because she's untrained and will jump/bite. Yeah, like that little Chihuahua mix (named Burrito) demon-dog was any better.
As for the hedgehog, my dad was the [&@%!] who insisted upon scaring it. I tend to keep my pets away from him for that reason, especially the cat.
Anyway, I just got up so I haven't done anything yet. I just want to go to the bathroom... And I can't because it's currently occupied.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
Why do i get the feeling you just kicked plently of people in the balls whilst shouting "I AM SPARTA!"?
Anyway, today I did my voluntary work, had a customer try to get something that cost £7 in total reduced to £5.50. It was a shirt (£5) and a pair of shoes(£2). We are a charity shop and the stuff we sell is always cheaper then the big name shops. Such as New Look, Peacock etc.. They didn't get it for £5.50 in the end. Then I looked for jobs and will play SR2 soon. Then lurk in the forums and watch Storage Hunters at 8pm(UK time) then lurk in the forums and read more of a dance with dragons then watch Bad Education then forums.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
Stupid moment at dinner last night:
Me: "Well, that commercial is better than the one where the guy was pretending to be a ventriloquist with his kid as the.... um... the... what do you call it?"
Mom: "Dummy."
*pause*
*Mom starts laughing*
I was supposed to have my capstone project by today but the teacher still doesn't have it set up. At least someone just joined the class late and will be my partner; that'll help a bit. So I only had an hour-long class and here I am at home with a whole free day. Which is nice and definitely won't happen once this class kicks off, but I wish the free time wasn't because I don't yet have a project.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
I just learned that I'm apparently Draco Malfoy. Alright, then.
Anyway, my mom had a reaction to the medication she was put on for her thyroid. She actually had to stop taking the pills on Sunday, and since then, they've booked her in for the radioactive iodine treatment sooner than expected. She gets to drink a glass of water with radioactive iodine in it on Thursday afternoon. Sounds... Tasty.
I finally got around to cleaning out the hedgehog's tank this morning. Took ages to scrub the crap out of it. As soon as I put the hedgehog back in the tank (after letting it run around for a while), it started burying itself through the new cedar shavings. Apparently the critter likes the change of bedding.
After that, I spent most of the day messing around on my PC.
I also realized not too long ago that I forgot to take an allergy pill this morning. Claritin. With sinus relief.
Now my sinus congestion is back. Ugh. It's been basically on and off since spring. Starting to think that it's something like hay fever or whatever. Annoying either way.
Hmph. Well, I'm off to bed. I'm getting tired and the sinus headache isn't helping things.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
Really?
Aaaaaaanyways, technically this hasn't happened yet today, but I have to go for another x-ray on the finger I broke last week.
It keeps randomly going numb for no reason, and then coming back, so the Dr wants to find out if there is in fact another break somewhere, that might be impacting the nerves, because it should NOT be doing this.
Yay for science!

If you were being serious about that, I would have been inclined to send a book all about playing the insane apocalypse survivor. Sadly, you're still reminiscent of shotgun/ripped jeans guy cliche from every zombie movie ever.

Oh, gods... There's more. Apparently I'm also Seven of Nine. Don't recognize any of the others. Well, except for Malfoy.
Anyway... I just realized I forgot to make more fry food. Blasts. I'll have to do that quick before I feed the fish because I've got none left.
Ah. Right.
I did some writing and played some Skyrim/Oblivion. I've been too congested today to really do anything else. Ugh. It just keeps getting worse. Hopefully the herbal store is open on Saturday because I require something from there. I can't remember what it was, but it was one of the few things that helped this. They've been closed for several days now for "mechanical upgrades."
I've got some more things to do, then I'm off to bed.
Also, it's really cold in here... Sort of. It's 75 in the rest of the house, but in here with the open window... It's cold enough that my fingers are slightly numb.

Working from home is always nice! I work for a radio station and about 90% of what I do could be done remotely. Looking forward to the day when I move and they let me do that.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
I just want to work for myself. Almost there....
Our weekend hiking plans have been foiled by my dear father-in-law who needs help moving lumber this weekend. So...I guess I'll just do lots of yoga and hike on my own (sorry husband)...but I have to get out into the wild or else I'll go crazy. Its been weeks since I've done a proper hike because I was sick.
Anyway, I have the hard task of selecting which beautiful business cards I want for my Ayurveda practice. I have a name picked out for the business so I'll be going down to the proper office on Monday and getting my business license. Yippee! And I'll be opening a separate bank account and making handouts...ahh its so close! In two months I'll be seeing patients, its going to be awesome.
