Re: Cyrodiil Confessions
I start all my new characters out with nothing. I've got a save named No Gear parked at the sewer exit that I use when I want to build a new character. His only possessions are the sandles, pants, shirt and manacles he was wearing in his prison cell. He doesn't have even a single gold coin or lockpick to his name.

Re: Cyrodiil Confessions
When I first got Oblivion, and started playing it all that time ago, I used to think that the Xivilai were not Daedra, but actually Dark Elves who had been taken by the Daedra and twisted into their current form.
and to be honest, I prefered it that way.

-On my 100+hour play through the majority of that is just roaming around the wilderness.
-I kill all the beggars after the thieves guild then hide the bodies... I feel like I'm cleaning the streets.

Re: Cyrodiil Confessions
I avoid Skingrad like the plague. Really hate Glarthir X.x
Also like to hoard notes and letters because they're funny. And the shopping list that says "beer, lots of beer" I litter about my house.
Hm, I won't steal most stuff that's out in the open (in inns and houses) because I don't want to disturb the world too much, so unless it's something I really want, I'll just steal from barrels and chests and whatnot. I like the table-setting! (Unless that particular character gets angry at something, then she generally trashes the room, lol)

The one thing that scares me most of all in the game is when my torch suddenly burns out. Makes me jump every time.

I eat and sleep like I would in real life, and never fast travel.

I bring the Skeleton Key with me only during the Ultimate Heist. Then I leave it behind on Chancellor Ocato's dresser before I make my escape. As a calling card.
Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.
Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.

Re: Cyrodiil Confessions
At the start of a new game, before I do anything else, I absolutely have to go straight to Weynon Priory, then rid Kvatch of the Daedra and then escort Martin to the Cloud Ruler Temple. Otherwise I feel guilty, like I'm betraying Emperor Uriel's trust or the Empire itself. Not to mention it wouldn't make any sense to just run around doing fetch quests while you have this mission of quite literally cosmic proportions unfinished. When Martin is safe in the temple, I just go and do whatever I want, figuring that realistically it would take Jauffre quite some time to spy out where the Amulet is kept. Then, when I've achieved everything I want with that character, I do the rest of the main quest without interruptions.

Re: Cyrodiil Confessions
As all new characters, after leaving the sewers, I fast travel to Weynon Priory to drop off the amulet. Afterwards, I ignore the main quest.
I also feel like I must take all alchemical ingredients in the forest, if I pass one I saw, I usually rush back to collect it.

Re: Cyrodiil Confessions
Since everyone else are doing there's...
When I leave the sewers I always cross the river and kill the 2 mudcrabs by the docks (NE from Vilverin) and take all the jewels. Then I go to Chorrol to sell my stuff, usually ask about Jauffre and then...
Ignore it

Re: Cyrodiil Confessions
I used to do that to, but then I took... Oops, wrong game. But yeah, I tended to do that, too, but then I got fed up of carrying a ton of ingredients I won't ever need. So nowadays after reaching a reasonable prowess in Alchemy I only collect ingredients for potions that suit my playstyle. In the early game, though, I still take everything to grind the skill as fast as I can. Don't know why, but I absolutely love using poisons. There's something very gratifying shooting your opponent from long range with an arrow coated with a two- to four-effect poison, then watch them keel over before they can lay even their little finger on you.I also feel like I must take all alchemical ingredients in the forest, if I pass one I saw, I usually rush back to collect it.

The reason I take ingredients is because I make potions to sell, not for usage myself. That is why I feel pressured to take all the ingredients.Nord85 wrote:So nowadays after reaching a reasonable prowess in Alchemy I only collect ingredients for potions that suit my playstyle.

Re: Cyrodiil Confessions
Im also obsessed with ingredients. I has begun with an atronach character I played long ago, so....lots of Steel Blue Entoloma....sometimes I find myself in the middle of the great forest (near gottlesfont) searching for them, but then I realize my current character is not Atronach....lol. I've never completed the fighters guilt too, got just to Azanni Blackheart I think. This is what make Oblivion a fantastic game...there so many different things to do, and the game "respects that freedom"....

Re: Cyrodiil Confessions
My only oblivion character is for a completionist run. I did the arena early on but I've never spent any time around the Adoring Fan.

Re: Cyrodiil Confessions
On my most recent play-through (as a RP technique) I have decided to not complete any quest line. Act like a commoner and only achieve mediocrity in each guild; while I gain wealth and property and become famous as adventurer/traveler not as 'the worlds best thief' or leader of the Mage's/Fighter's Guild/s. To me becoming the leader of the Fighters and Mage's Guild seems like a contradiction (unless you're playing a battlemage or a similar class of course).

On a particular save, I have slowly emptied out every city of its citizens, utilising the Command Console to make sure they STAY DEAD.
All killed in their beds at night, one by one, even the beggars. Now every city is a ghost town, save the confused guards.
It's every relaxing.

I always play along With Glarthir's scheme, and then when ordered to kill all the Three "spies" go straight to Captain Dion, and let him and the city guard sort out Glarthir.
