I actually think he's a good choice. He's a good actor and I actually think he played Daredevil really well (despite the terrible script).

We'll see what he's like. Might be good in the role, might not. Haven't actually seen Man of Steel yet, I will in time. I do like the idea of making a Superman/Batman and I'm glad they aren't tying the Nolan Batman films in and just letting them be their own thing.

Man of Steel was such an incredible turd of a movie that I'm just about as indifferent about the Batman/Superman movie as I could possibly be. Though I agree that Affleck is a good actor when you give him a half-decent script.

So they are in different universes? i haven't seen Man of Steel yet, but are you saying that they aren't set in the same universe?

either way, I'm not planning on watching this particular film. I've never been a huge fan of either superhero or DC in general. Ben Affleck has always been a ''meh'' actor to me. he isn't bad, but he's not really great either, just average to me.

Yeah, the Nolanverse is its own thing. From Man of Steel on they are making the DC Universe all tie together. Superman is meant to be the first public hero (Batman is in the shadows and more a myth than someone people know is real) and be an example that other heroes begin to follow.

Watchmen was an excellent superhero film but an awful Watchmen film. If you consider the whole "this graphic novel is impossible to condense into under three hours" problem then it actually comes out quite favourably. But this is also the man who made Sucker Punch and 300 *shudder* and from what I can gather Man Of Steel is not a film I'd enjoy even remotely so yeah, screw Zack Snyder. They should get Affleck to direct and produce as well as act.

I'm not going to comment on Snyder's superhero movies, because I think superheroes are lame in general, but I just wanted to chip in and say 300 was [&@%!] amazing.

I'm with Veck - Snyder doesn't really know what to do with the material he gets, but I disagree about Watchmen being an excellent superhero film (I'm not the fan of the comics and it was a confused mess to me).

I'm not sure how I feel about Affleck directing. He's done some really good films, but there were some disasters too.

That's pretty much my view. I like Man of Steel overall, so I'll probably check out the next one.

Totally. I've reconsidered holding off judgment until I see for myself how he does. I just don't see the sultry, well-mannered, lady killer Bruce Wayne in Affleck...nor the ruthless killer on the Batman side.
