Favourite Birthsign
Here are the Birthsigns of Morrowind and their effects. I'm wondering which Birthsign in the game is your favourite and why.
For me it is The Lady. The 25 boost to Endurance is great. And the 25 boost to Personality isn't bad either. Also my favourite race is Breton so I would end up with a natural 150 magicka anyway.

Re: Favourite Birthsign
I like the Atronach. I love the extra magicka, and the ability to absorb spells cast by enemies is great, and very useful to me, because it means I don't have to buy as many restore magicka potions.
Of course, if I'm not playing as a mage, or spell-user, I will use a different sign, more in line with that character.

Re: Favourite Birthsign
When I play as a Mage I usually choose The Mage, as it has a nice little boost to magicka without any penalty, unlike The Apprentice or The Atronach.

Re: Favourite Birthsign
The Atronach is a great sign for non-magic users and magic users alike. Non magic users won't be bothered by the lack of magicka regeneration, since they're not going to be using it anyway, so they basically get 50% spell absorption for free. Not bad at all.

My favourite is also the Lady, simply because it helps in both combat and dialogue.

Re: Favourite Birthsign
If I'm using magic it is the Mage, no drawbacks and an increase in magicka. If not I normally go Lady, but only for female characters. It just seems wrong for a man to be born under the Lady. Male's will get either the Thief or Warrior.

Re: Favourite Birthsign
I only ever had two saves.. both very similar but years apart.. ended up going for the Tower, then later with the Lover. Both helped early for me in-game.. plus I was more of a thief than bloody killer

The Atronach
Most signs provide some boost, especially for new characters, but are less useful as characters level.
The 50% spell absorption works for a character from creation to end game.

For me it's the Lady, 25 personality + 25 endurance is pretty awesome.

Re: Favourite Birthsign
Since i always play as a magic based character it is the apprentice for me hands down..I don't hell care if it gives me 50% weakness to magicka. Its anyway better than in oblivion.

Re: Favourite Birthsign
The weakness to magicka isn't too bad if you consider weaknesses to fire frost shock paralysis and poison.
burden, noise, blind, drain fatigue and the rest aren't anywhere near threatening, except for damage health however

Re: Favourite Birthsign
Atronauch ftw! only if I have more than one magick skill in major/minor skills. otherwise, either thief or warrior. the ones that fortify endurance, speed, etc, I don't like because I like it being really hard in the beginning, and leveling those skills myself on level up
Nero, THE Knight of the Imperial Dragon, Vvardenfell, Morrowind Province, Tamriel.
Thank you, good day.

Re: Favourite Birthsign
I am saddened by the lack of Theif and Warrior appreciation exhibited in this thread. I've always had a weakness for the Dunmer-born-under-the-Thief Sanctuary build. There is, for me, a sense of poetic justice in turning the tables on the pesky N'wahs who call themselves hostile NPCs in Morrowind and rendering yourself more unhittable than them.

Re: Favourite Birthsign
Personally, I do like the Thief and often play it in Oblivion as well, but I more often than not pick the Lady for the same reasons as Kerr. My first character ever had the Tower, which...wasn't too bad, but certainly not very useful in the long run.

I've always liked the warrior for combat-based characters. Wayward isn't too shabby and is always helpful early in the game.

The Lady is the equal of my Astrology sign in real life. So I pick it.

Re: Favourite Birthsign
I'd never thought of it in terms of real-world star-signs, but I suppose I'd be born under The Ritual were I born on Nirn.
