Re: The General Discussion Thread
I never seen a real legit scary scene. They are all cheesy or have stupid people. "Time for me to run back outside, with my shirt open."
Camera needs to see the bra or it's not a good movie.

That made me anxious, but I wouldn't say scared. I'm too rational for that.Musicman247 wrote:Ever watched The Shining?

Re: The General Discussion Thread
The Thing From Another World isn't in the same Canon as John Carpenter's The Thing (1982.) The Thing (2011) is in the same canon as John Carpenter's The Thing (1982) but is also pretty much a remake.
John Carpenter's The Thing (1982) is great.

Anxiety is a type of fear.
And yes, John Carpenter's The Thing is great.

1982 is the best one all the way. My favorite part is when the Thing enters the dog kennels for the first time. Bye bye, puppies!

1984 is the best of all. Really wished that that happened.

Re: The General Discussion Thread
Think you could called a character in Fallout 3 R.J. MacReady and I wouldn't notice Bethesda?
The Thing and Alien could both be called Sci Fi/Horror. And while maybe not the best at being horror they are good Sci Fi. There was also an episode of The X-Files called Ice that was like The Thing. It was good too. I do like horror but sometimes I think my standards might a bit unreasonable. But being scared is pretty subjective. Something that might terrify me could do nothing to someone else. And even if the story isn't "scary" it can still be a good dark story.

Re: The General Discussion Thread
Horror by nature is subjective to what the individual has a fear of and that's different with each person. The only thing that scares me from Aliens is the facehugger, I've had nightmares about being chased by those things chasing me and trying to put that [&@%!] embryo down my windpipe. The thing kinda plays on the fear of the unknown, which isn't original but it wasn't a waste of time and I didn't regret watching it. Seriously though, [&@%!] facehuggers, I don't want no goddamn hug.

Re: The General Discussion Thread
Sure, I also end up blasting said facehuggers into poisonous bits in those dreams when I'm lucid dreaming. My dream, my shotguns, no alien is telling me otherwise and outside the thalassophobia there really is nothing else that has me running away screaming like a little girl. except maybe toenails being pried off
