See, that's it - I can believe that I'm killing dragons, I can believe I'm being helped by a sorcerer who is also a giant cat, I can believe the fire can't hurt me, because I've drunk a magic potion, but I can't believe I'm doing all that while wearing a one-squirrel-thong and nothing else. That's not bada**, that's stupid. I want my fantasy universe to make at least a tiny bit of sense.

Agreed :), although this 'universe' you speak about is different for everyone of course.

I will most likely post some images wearing different pieces of clothing; just started the long process and painful process of character creation.

I blame anime.

Amen to that. I can suspend my reality pretty far, but I draw the line there. (Maybe because I am also a woman? Although I don't exactly like to see bandits running around shirtless, either... I mean, you have a bare chest and I have a pointy metal stick. We all know who wins that one.)

If your on PC there are several armor mods that are not of the skimpy variety. Some of the skimpy ones also include options for full armor. One of my favorites is the Silverlight armor set. You can go skimpy or you can add a set of chain mail under the skimpy version to cover everything up. If the silverlight set is too flashy for you there are a bunch of scout/ranger armor sets around.

Some other possibilities are the Nights Watch armor, Less sexual female armor, True Thief Armor, Witchplate - Armor Set, plus uncounted variations on Thieves guild and Nightingale armor.

OK, I know there are several mods that include just clothing. I do not know the names right off hand. I will do some looking when I get a chance.

Problem is that I play Skyrim on the Xbox, so mods are no option at all I guess :( . I am using the Tavern clothes at the moment and I am pretty happy with those. I'll post a picture later on; works out pretty well with my character.

This is exactly why my characters that wear armor have two different sets they carry with them. One set for the coldest parts of Skyrim, and another set for warmer areas like the Rift, for example. And what irritates me the most are those powerful Forsworn that somehow are (almost) able to kick my ass while wearing a fur bikini. Don't think so man, I'm pretty sure my fireball spell blew your exposed midriff all over the place just now.

^ With Frostfall mod it's actualy necessary to own a warm set of clothes/armor. If you try to run around Dawnstar in a fur bikini, you're going to freeze to death.

True. Though I got rid of that mod because I was tired of not being able to finish quests in the coldest parts of Skyrim even with all the survival gear. But that is one of the good things about it is that warm clothing is essential, though really almost any clothing item can be crafted to be the warmest.

Shrouded Hood (Mage) goes well with most dark clothing for sneaking. I think I'm currently using Guildmaster armour at the moment, fits a thief/sneaky character that's suitable for you.

I was going to mention the red/blue 'bartender' outfit, that's one of my favourites for casually walking around, not sneaking.

@Dohva - you can change the settings, so that exposure doesn't get you so fast. I actually did that because with default settings even a short trek up a mountain required a stop halfway there to build a fire and warm up a bit. Anyone who's ever done any hiking in winter will tell you that this is not exactly realistic - if you're bundled up and keep moving, you're not going to turn into an icicle in a couple of hours.

I dunno. I do that sort of stuff while wearing a Santa hat.

First off you have to understand the function of the forsworn armor for women.
1. Its distracts you from noticing how ugly there faces are, if you dont believe me take a good look at one the next time you kill one.
2. It distracts the defender who doesnt see the sword in his gut untill its to late.

Now in my opinion the dawnguard armor is some of the best looking and realistic armor in the game for females, next guard armor and lt. legion armor, after this steel plate for heavy also the heavy legion armor and in someways nordic also fits the bill but is fantasy looking.
Most of the others beside fur are to fantasy looking versus realistic except iron but it looks awfull. All though dwemer armor is my fav. for the fantasy look, it looks silly on women for some reason.

As for sneaking clothes there arent any really great choices unless you want ugly or dirty looking clothes. or robes or a dress which is not ideal for stealth. but if you look at it like a super hero with a cape, which is stupid and dangerous, but comic artist love it so we get capes as the designers of skyrim choose the clothes we get. I mean I understand the poor being dirty but not the wealthy so why not some nice clean clothes that a thane or rich person could have who can afford to have some one clean there clothes for them. How dirty can you get sitting in the Blue Palace all day.
sorry for the rant.

I like the Shrouded robes myself. They look good with bows & daggers.
