The first saw was great because it had a lot of surprises but now it is starting to get old.

It will probably go down the drain like Hostel did.

Yeah, as usual, the first one was the best. I think from there it went downhill, but not a whole lot. II, III, and IV are all okay, nothing really great. So many plot twists...

I think the plot twists are where Saw fails. :? I liked 1 and 2, but from there on out I knew what every Saw movie was gonna be like... the actual twists themselves are a surprise, but the fact that they'll be there isn't.

exactly. and if you haven't seen the prequels around the time you see the newest one, you get lost really easily.

I looked at this guy's mini vlog about the trailer itself, he has the exact same ideas as I had, and he says "awesome" a lot.
He also tells about some 'pendulum trap', so I'm gonna search for that later to see if a clip of it comes out.

Too graphic for me, warning following sentences may have graphic content.

In one of them, a girl had a mask on that would rip off her face if she didn't get the key to it in 3 mins. She found a dead man and was told to cut him open with a knife to find the key. When she went to, she found out he was just sleeping so she had to kill him, she got the mask off though.

What do you mean necro posting? This movie just came out there is no way anyone could be necro posting yet.

Anyway I am so pumped for Saw 5. I have just recently seen the other 4 and I was amazed. Most people say the movies are just about gore but they have a much better story to them then people give them credit for. So has anyone here actually seen Saw 5 yet? I might go see it this weekend.

If we thought it was a necropost, we would have locked the topic. Ktulu017 was contributing to the discussion.

Back on topic, though, I kind of lost interest in the Saw movies after the third one. In my opinion after you get to that point in a series, there isn't anywhere left to go but down. The story kept getting more and more convoluted with each iteration and I can't believe the writers have anything left to add to it. Still, when it comes out on cable I'll probably watch it just in case, but I wouldn't spend money at the theaters.

In the U.S. III has already come out on cable. FX was running a marathon a few days ago and I think IV is showing somewhere on one of the channels for their Halloween special.
