Which children do you adopt?

Post by Pisik »

If you're going for worst situation, its Sofie hands down. Left by herself in Windhelm, selling flowers just to survive? Definately one of the worst off.

I personally always adopt her, and then pick someone from the orphanage, usually Runa.

My elf picked Lucia and Sofie, my Imperial chose Samuel and Runa, and my Bosmer chose...um...I can't remember. I think it may have been Francois and a little girl. Whoops can't remember my own virtual kid's name. But I would say all the Hearthfire children have it the worst. I can't remember the kid's name that lives in the stables in Solitude, then there's Alesan in Dawnstar who sleeps on the inn on the floor! :(

too many children in bad situation. :( is there any way to adopt more than 2 children? for example, if I get enough money to buy house in Solitude (and also have house in Whiterun) can I adopt two more children or just 2 in total?

You're on PC, right? I'm sure there's a mod that allows you to adopt more than two. If you're not on PC though, you can only pick two.

No, you can only adopt two at a time which is bogus.

I've looked for mods to add on for that subject and I found one that was 'meh' and didn't seem to work quite right (still refining). I'm sure someone will make one someday.

quick question;

if a child's parents die, that child continue to live in his/her own home or go to Honorhall Orphanage?

They'll go to Honorhall, eventually. I will admit that I've..... orphaned some children so I could adopt them.

Valentina's kid, Mila or whatever, never went to the orphanage after my assassin took her mother out. Maybe it hasn't been long enough yet.

I dunno. It worked for me after a bit. Killed that guy in Rorikstead with the two daughters, so my vampiric assassin/mage could adopt the nice child.
I think you have to kill Grelod first, though.

She did kill Grelod. Oh well, its not like the kid would've taken my assassin as a mother or anything. She hates her since seeing the arrow go through her mother.

I generally go for different child combinations for different characters, but I'd say that the one who has it worst is Sofie. I'm also fond of 'disposing' of the father of Sissel and adopting her.

OP: Merhaba! ;)

On topic... I agree with Norroen: I love Sofie. I adopted her on my last character and she just tends to be my favorite. My main character adopted her and Samuel from the orphanage. I like the mix, but they always argue every time I come home...it's cute.

Hey hey, Avron Merhaba

one more question. when I arrived Riverwood, cultists attacked me. I just hide and watched fight -villagers attacked cultists-. anyway, cultists killed Dorthe's parents, she is so sad but still living in riverwood. is that a bug?

If you talk to her, do you have the option to adopt? Also, have you killed off Grelod and finished that quest?

That's why. They won't move to and you can't adopt from the orphanage until Grelods dead.

Curnac adopted Lucia and Aleson, Soairse adopted Sofia (because she is sooo pathetic) and I doubt Stinky-Fingers will just because he's a bit of an [&@%!] ( he got run out of Blackrose for being such).

I also killed the guy in Rorikstead who hates his daughters, and adopted both of them. I don't think I'll tell them that, though.

There was a time when the disposing was done for me. A dragon attacked Rorikstead, and the guy died. All I had to do was abstain from my usual policy of resurrecting every NPC that dies in a dragon attack.

My Bosmer vampire, Marilyn, adopted Runa and Lucia - Lucia because she happened to run into her in a mellow mood, and Runa because she couldn't have Aventus and Runa was sort of second best. I suppose she was moved to do so by memories of her own orphaned youth, but truth to be told she's a rotten mother and the girls are pretty much left to themselves most of the time.

Comes-Up-Last and Shahvee have a modded hatchling for obvious reasons.

My other two married couples - Rennath Mauso/Mjoll the Lioness and Sylvaine Emrys/Cosnach - are too busy adventuring to raise kids, although I've toyed with the idea to have Sylvaine adopt Sofie the flower girl because a Forsworn adopting the orphaned daughter of fallen Stormcloaks and raising her to be a witch would have a certain poetic twang, but unfortunately Syl hasn't bought or built any house and has no plans in that direction; she considers Hag Rock Redoubt/Dead Crone Rock her home, and I haven't found a Kids Can Live Anywhere mod yet.

Interestingly enough, my assassin adopted Britte after their father died. Such a shame the sisters had to be separated though...but Sissel is too sweet for my Imperial's taste. She needed a brattier child, so welcome to the family, Britte. :Twisted Evil:

PS: ^^Finn, what I would like is a mod to adopt more than 2 kids. I can see my assassin's warm and cozy home filled with screaming children that drive everybody nuts.
