I think you're not the only one, Ebony; everyone's a little confused. So I've skimmed over the thread and I'm summarizing the recent major events, where everyone is and what they were doing. I'll arrange this by location and then by oldest posts first:

Misc/inactive
Deimos (Mars) - I didn't see him mentioned here apart from the list of characters
Orome (cowleyj) - same
Carius (Greenlantern) - Got a drink at Desele's long before the kagouti attack and walked out
Frondus (Daring Fieldmajor) - Last posted when they were getting a group together, right before the kagouti attack; he wanted to join
Aythu (JVElEven) - Gudrun was leading her on a leash before the crew went to the guardhouse

Inside the Guardhouse
The adventurers arrived to find that all the guards had been slain. Gudrun arrived with her crew while they were there, and attacked, releasing a bunch of smoke. Most people have gotten outside after the fight, but Gudrun, Llevana, Llela, and a couple others are still inside. Gudrun found Llela during the attack and tied her up; she's also found Llevana and knocked her out. The smoke has mostly cleared.

Gaenidil (Hissien) - Last posted when they were examining the bodies of the dead guards
Raylis (NPC? played by Mars) - A guy who seemed to know something about the kagouti attack and destruction on the town. Llevana asked him why they share the same last name and then they were interrupted by Gudrun.
Aenar (Archer) - Tried to run outside during the battle but was punched in the face by a sailor guarding the door and knocked over
Sinyail (CBR JGWRR) - Reanimated a dead sailor during the battle, which stepped on Psyfalia (breaking her arm) and fought the guards at the door away into the street
Alindrel (JVElEven, who has left the forum for an indefinite period of time) - During the fight, summoned a sword and basically was running through blindly. Before Gudrun caught Llela, she hit the sailor fighting Llela and was last stopping to check what she'd hit
Llela (Eltee) - Was caught by Gudrun, who then tied her up and left her, so she's on the ground in the guardhouse
Llevana (Mars) - Was pinned under a dead sailor; Gudrun has just released her and knocked her out, so she's also on the ground in the guardhouse
Gudrun (Mars) - Just finished knocking out Llevana, standing in the middle of the guardhouse
Shakh (Ebony Dragon) - Just got out of his cage and is heading upstairs

Outside the Guardhouse
Arellius and Per were ordered by Gudrun to hang back. They waited outside, and when the first few adventurers made their way out of the fight (Psyfalia with a broken arm), they approached them, acting friendly but meaning to attack. Per accidentally gave away their motive and Arellius quickly held Valentia and Niralie at swordpoint. Fornar ran for help. Katien attempted to cast some spells, and Arellius tried to kill the two, but the Reflect Damage spell took hold, resulting in Valentia being completely unharmed and the attack on Niralie being thrown off somewhat.

Valentia (Unionhack) - Last posted when she was checking on Psyfalia, around the time Arellius and Per arrived. Since then Arellius attempted to kill her and Niralie, but Katien's Reflect Damage spell protected Valentia from harm. She's crouched on the ground near Psyfalia and Niralie.
Fornar (Wardo235) - Running back to Suran looking for help after Arellius held the two at swordpoint.
Katien (The-Shadow-One) - Tried to cast Paralysis on Arellius, and Reflect Damage on Valentia and Niralie. Paralysis failed, Reflect Damage worked on Valentia.
Psyfalia (Thelastdovah) - On the ground with a broken arm; is currently attempting to cast Dispel and then a lightning attack at Arellius
Niralie (Alarra) - Got her shoulder badly injured by Arellius and is currently on the ground attempting to heal herself
Per (Per) - Currently standing back a bit and waiting with his axe out
Arellius (Velvet LeChance) - After his attack on Valentia and Niralie, has moved backwards near Per to avoid Psyfalia's attempted attack

You're my hero <3. Thanks for helping a lazy slob of a DM out.

Deimos: I think I'll remove him. He was originally a character created by a user, but the user in question stopped posting, so I took over. But the character never got much substance so I haven't been doing anything with him. We'll just say he got killed in the chaos.

JV: He hasn't told me anything in regards to what he intends to do with his characters now that he's left the forum. I'll ask him on Steam when he's online.

Other inactive players: I'm aware of them. I was waiting to see if they'd come back and post on their own volition, but they haven't, so I'll PM them. If they don't come back their characters will be removed and can be treated as dead or missing.

I'm at work right now, but I'll post a thorough DM post as soon as possible.

It was actually a command spell, but no matter.
Sinyail surveyed the guardhouse, and wondered how to deal with the woman who had captured one of the dunmeri women...

Sent PMs to the inactive players. Haven't gotten a hold of JV yet.
Inside the guardhouse

Gudrun looked at the door, and saw Sinyail. He had kept a cool head in the fight, unlike most of the others. She would have to be careful with him. A little more careful, anyway. She smirked at him, and began slowly moving towards him. She had drawn no weapon yet. Then she heard armor rattling behind her. She jerked around.

A large Orc clad in orcish armor was standing behind her. He hadn't been with the others before, which could only mean he had been a prisoner here. Maybe she would be able to get him on her side. She had no doubt that she would be able to incapacitate him and the Altmer, but there were more adventurers outside, and she was the only one left of her own team. She wouldn't be able to take all of them.

"Ho, Orc!" she greeted. "My comrades are dead or dying and I'm pinned. I'm in contract with high-up people, and my contract is to eliminate this band of thugs. Anyone who helps me gets a fair share of the reward. What say you?"

A weak attempt at persuasion, but there was no time. The Altmer could take action any second now. She was surprised he hadn't yet.

---

Raylis was crouched behind a heavy piece of furniture about halfway through the building, shielded from Gudrun's eyes. At least he hoped that she was unaware of him. His situation looked bad; Llevana had proven to be much more skeptical than he had anticipated. He had intended to file out his plan more, but he'd run out of time. And not just because of Gudrun's arrival.

But right now the priority was to get as many as people as possible out of the mess alive. Especially Llevana. He crept up to the edge of the wardrobe that was closest to the entrance door and gestured towards Sinyail, the Altmer, hoping to catch his attention.

Shakh looked upon the Nord who offered allegiance. I couldn't take my vengeance on her, he thought. He was outmatched here. Should he go against the Nord? Or wait for an oppurtune moment to strike the Nord? Shakh thought for a second, then smiled.
"Show me who these thugs are," he said, and unsheathed his greatsword. The fiery soul enchantment shined on the sword, showing that it has not run out of charge in the past two years. "I will end their lives for you."
He pointed his sword at the Nord. "On two conditions. I'll need to know your name, and I'll need to know if my cut would be enough to buy my freedom back."

Outside the guardhouse

Sethesi Releth was not a happy girl. Born in a small town to a mother and lacking a father, she didn't have a ton of career options. The house needed cleaning, and the food needed cooking while her mother was out making money. As soon as Sethesi was able to work, her mother retired early. Apparently, being birthed by her automatically made Sethesi her mother's lifelong slave. She often thought of just leaving the old hag, but who was she fooling. She couldn't do that. So there she was, going to Desele's every day, doing what had to be done. She never had anything to do with the more...seedy aspect of the establishment, though she hinted at it to the customers who were unsure. In short, she was employed as a waitress and as eye-candy. She was well-suited for the latter: her face was pretty round, for a Dunmer, her skin was smooth. The brows over her big, red eyes were naturally arched slightly upwards at the inner ends, and paired with her short, full-lipped mouth gave her a look of constant ever so slight displeasure; displeasure that could easily be alleviated, by the right words or gestures. Seemingly, at least. She had no excess weight, her bosom was "adequette" (in Desele's words), and she wore her long, wavy dark hair in a long ponytail that flowed down from the upper back of her head. As for waiting tables, well, she was okay at it. She wasn't particulalry clumsy, and her mind was quick. Her sassy and snarky attitude wasn't the most welcoming, but Desele tolerated it. Some people liked being treated that way and those who didn't...well, the ones that mattered would come anyway.

Sethesi was on her way home from work, bummed out as usual, when she heard the screams. A mixture of pain and fear. They sounded like they came from women. There were also hoarses voices, that belonged to men. Could this have anything to do with the weird Kagouti attack from earlier? She jogged in the directions the voices came from and gasped as soon as she turned the corner and the guardhouse came into her view.

A bunch of people were sprawled all over the entrance to the guardhouse. Two women right at the front looked hurt, while all the others behind them looked kind of stupefied. They weren't doing anything, just gawking. There were also two men. An Imperial and a Nord, their weapons drawn, their bodies in aggressive positions. A fight!

Sethesi approached cautiously; and gasped again. She recognized the faces of the people that weren't the two aggressive men! They had all been at Desele's earlier. Oh [&@%!], what to do, what to do? Stay out of it and go home, or help and be a hero (and potential mincemeat?).

Katien allowed magic to swirl in her hands once more, before she casted it upon herself, invisibility. She was planning to either run, or sneak attack. She tried to walk slowly, put herself in a position of power, or a position she can easily escape from.

Outside the guardhouse

As Sethesi was wondering what to do, things were happening.

Psyfalia's Dispel spell failed, as she was unable to concentrate it on a specific target, in her hazy state of mind. Katien turned invisible.

This means Arellius was not struck by lightning.

edit: also, to clarify: Sethesi is the waitress from Desele's that served everyone. I decided to bring into it.

Inside the guardhouse

Sinyail, not liking how the events with the new nord were going decided to prepare a fireball spell, with which he intended to take them both out, but not kill them. he wanted to find out why this woman and her sailors had attacked them.

Arellius Afer III

Arellius bit down on his lip as he watched the four - and then, suddenly, three - survivors. His right hand was outstretched and the blade pointing at the enemy. The left was also raised, though in a way so the tanto ran parallel with his chest. It probably looked stupid, he knew, and not the typical position taken up by a swordsman but it worked for him. Anyone who got near would be cut to shreds, or at least that was the plan.

He quirked an eyebrow after the Bretons vanished, and then took another step back, putting Per between him and the woman. She was dangerous, or so it seemed, and the only one who seemed anyway capable among the four. He glanced in the her general direction, looking for that distinctive shimmer that would give her away. He'd slit her throat once he got hold of her, the mercenary decided, grinning now.

"Give up now 'n' I migh' just let ya's all live," he snarled. His eyes continued to shift around Katiens presumed position. "No'ne has t'get hurt."

@CBR: Keep in mind that Shakh (who is an Orc, btw) is at the far end of the room, Gudrun is in the middle, and Sinyail is at the door. Llevana is somewhere between Shakh and Gudrun, and Llela is somewhere between you and Gudrun. That fireball would also injure Llevana. Also, Raylis is hiding behind a piece of furniture and is trying to get Sinyail's attention. You can still do whatever you wish, I'm just making sure you have all the info. If you don't want to do anything yet, I can post first, of course.

Outside the guardhouse

The Imperial and the Nord seemed to be in a pinch. She didn't like the look of them either, and so she decided to attempt to incapacitate them. She picked up a heavy rock from the ground, and started creeping up on Arellius from behind.

The two dunmer will be ok, they're dunmer so essentially will ignore a fireball spell, and Gudrun will be the one he's firing at. Hmm.
As Sinyail moved to get a clearer shot, he noticed Raylis trying to get his attention, and he went over to him.

Oh you're right, fire resistance. Cool beans.
"Yeah, distract 'em. I'll cut Llela loose and we'll have one more body on our side," Raylis whispered back.

Gudrun was speaking to the Orc, but kept Sinyail in her field of view.

Katien frowned, she slowly moved to the side, trying hard to not give her position away. She didn't know what to do, no spells that directly affected, or harmed. But she could demoralise.. that might help demoralise, then dispel it upon her friends. Yes. She waited until she was in a position to get everyone in a spell, before dispelling her invisibility and tossing the brunt of the spell, straight for Arellius.

Niralie gritted her teeth as a fresh wave of pain rolled through her shoulder. The healing spell wasn't going as well as she'd hoped; the pain was making her mind foggy, and she was having trouble holding her concentration long enough for it to take effect. Oblivious to the action around her, she closed her eyes and tried yet again.

As to quote Twilly: "Hiyas!"

I will still be around here after a little persuading. But only here. Unless some proper shizzle opens up down here innit, bra.

Sorry about that.
Meanwhile, inside

Alindrel, having fallen headfirst behind a chest in the corner of the room a few minutes earlier, was assessing the situation at hand. That is, completely preoccupied with trying to make her nose stop bleeding.

"Maybe I could..." she whispered, "I'm not good at destruction, but I could try..."

She put a single finger on the tip of her nose, closed her eyes, and tried applying a slight frost spell.

The ensuing ball of ice broke her nose upwards as it accelerated to the ceiling.

"Ow!" the altmer cried, trying to stand up next to the crate, confused and bewildered, nose now bleeding even more.

Overtaken by survival instinct, Valentia threw up her hands and unleashed the first spell that came to mind; flames; hoping that the torrent of fire would be enough to repel Arellius so that she could get a better position of attack, and perhaps a get a chance to turn invisible.

Arellius Afer III

Arellius' grin never faltered as Per reminded him of as the original objective, though saying that it was only the precarious situation they currently found themselves in that stopped him smacking the Nord around the head. His lips parted to give what undoubtedly would've been some snarky and/or threatening response instead, but before the words could leave his mouth he was distracted by not the one, or the two, but the three freakin' spells that were heading in their direction. Gods, he hated mages.

Almost instinctively the Mercenary dived backwards.

Per hadn't even noticed the spells coming at them until Arellius' sudden dive. He didn't have time to react, his only hope being that the spells would miss.
