Keep going, do it early and it's a very high paying quest if you can be bothered to sell on all the gems you find. Good for smithing too if you have enough silver and gold ingots.
My main has around a thousand hours over around 10 versions, other characters add another few hundred.

Re: How many hours have you played skyrim?
Definitely over a thousand. And I have only finished the MQ once, and still haven't played the expansions. That's what happens when you keep starting over, playing 40 hours and starting a new character again and again.
Not to mention having two corrupted saves with 80+ hours on each.

Re: How many hours have you played skyrim?
How many hours in total or each save?
180~ hours each on two main saves 15 + 16MB
100~ hours combined on others 6-9MB
So about 450-500 and in total less than 60MB of save data, thankfully...

Re: How many hours have you played skyrim?
700-1000
2 characters, current levels 75 and 19
Neither is Dragonborn.
X360 game with no DLC
Despite all those hours,
- I haven't advanced the MQ beyond "Before the Storm"
- I haven't joined a side in the Civil War
- I haven't advanced very far in the the College of Winterhold
- I haven't joined or destroyed the Dark Brotherhood
- I probably haven't done half the side/miscellaneous quests, either. (edit)
Someday, maybe I'll create some new characters to do those things.
There are still plenty of locations in the game I haven't explored. My 2nd character should allow for more free-form exploration, as my 1st character needs a good reason to go to locations that aren't near a tavern.

Re: How many hours have you played skyrim?
Easily over 2000 thousand hours, and I haven't completed the Main Quest, Thieves Guild, or Dark Brotherhood yet. I guess I'm easily distracted.
EDIT: I don't have the DLC either.

Re: How many hours have you played skyrim?
I voted the wrong one, I meant to put 300-500
however, most of those hours would have been cut down if I hadn't been forced to restart my game.
I've played one character twice, forced to repeat him. and another out of choice.

Re: How many hours have you played skyrim?
I have 1,044 hours total, from something like three dozen characters.
--Haven't finished the Civil War or Dawnguard
--Finished the MQ, TG, and Dark Brotherhood once each
--Just got Dragonborn a few days ago
--Also a few days ago, cleared Halldir's Cairn for the first time

Around 500+ hours on 4 characters. Dawnguard and Dragonborn add the fun even more.

I have to be somewhere around 2000, probably not above it though. I think we need some more options. Most people on here have probably played over 100o hours.

I'm on just over 1700, and have only just completed Unfathomable Depths for the first time in the last week. Amazingly, there's still things to do in this game.
It's not like my poaching is hurting anyone, the other hunters can hardly track every deer, can they?

Re: How many hours have you played skyrim?
I don't understand how people can play this game for over a thousand hours and not be done with everything.
honestly, i had already explored the whole map and did everything by the time i reached 200 or so hours, and by then was pretty bored of the game. it always amazes me how people can just keep playing them.

That's not even possible, especially considering loading screens and conversations. I'm calling your bluff on that one.

so i don't know what to tell you.
maybe my game is buggering something up, but I'm quite sure i never played it too long before finishing most stuff.

Re: How many hours have you played skyrim?
I think perhaps it's because we might not be in a rush to try, it's not as if I have never come across that quest before, just that up until now, I've never chosen to pursue it. There's been more than enough to keep my going till now, and I suspect there will be more than enough to keep me going in the future

Re: How many hours have you played skyrim?
I don't really care too much about quests, I just like to explore, kill, and make new characters/builds

Re: How many hours have you played skyrim?
Exactly! There's so much to do in this game, why rush it? Doing nothing but burning through the quests just isn't fun.MadAndyD wrote:I think perhaps it's because we might not be in a rush to try, it's not as if I have never come across that quest before, just that up until now, I've never chosen to pursue it. Re: How many hours have you played skyrim?
Another thing that seriously extends the time played is picking a stealthy character. Even a small, simple cave can take 15+ minutes, instead of 5 it would take with a head-on approach. My fighter characters after 20 hours of playing are about as "advanced" as my thieves after 40. Another thing - serious roleplaying and no fast travel. After installing some immersion mods I spent half an hour with my new character just hunting, gathering supplies and crafting camping gear for the next trip.
