Lycanthropy and Vampirism in TESO
They have been announced as being in game but I was wondering if anyone knew anything else about it? I've been looking and I havent really heard much about it. I DO NOT think you should be able to be both a vampire and a werewolf. I do think that you should be able to get a selectable 6th (ultimate?) ability that uses your finese generated in order to facilitate your transformation into a werewolf (with its own Hotbar of skills and progression). I would like to see a detect life (increased sense of smell) increased attack speed, increased movement speed, and perhaps 1% of all damage you do to increase the duration (but if the target dies only)I would MUCH like to see stealth for werewolves as well... i hated that about skyrim(no stealth), werewolves should ambush you and rip you to shreds then dissapear. However, the vampires SHOULD get more passive bonuses, and maybe a -10% regen rate on all resources as their weakness. The vampire finese activated ability could be that they get detect life/5% increase to all their bonuses, and 30% increased movement and attack speed for like 2-5minutes and they get 5% of damage dealt back as life. They would also use vampire powers during this activated period (bats/summon gargoyle/raise dead) or just go all out and give them an adjusted vampire lord form... I didnt really get to play much of Dawnguard.
With the character i want to make and lycanthropy being in the game, the idea of sniping a caster with my bow going back into stealth, butchering another high-value target with my sword and axe, then turning into a werewolf and tanking/finishing off the other 3-5 enemies seems too fun to pass up, that would be the most epic thing ever. Every fight with me would probably go just like that. With the addition of an aoe heal/cc/spell of course, maybe the summoning of a daedra or raising of a corpse.(I love conjuration as well). (-NERDGASM-)
Anyways, what info has been released and what would YOU like to see?

I think I'm going to make my main character a werewolf, but I'm hoping not everyone will be either a vampire or werewolf. They should have enough drawbacks so that not everyone is one, but enough benefits so that there is reason to become one.

I'm under the general impression from what I've read that while vampirism and lycanthropy will feature in the game, they won't be core mechanics. More as something quest-related. In other words, I don't think you'll be able to choose to(permanently) be a vampire or werewolf.
Don't mistake lack of talent for genius.

From a newer interview, it sounded like you can unlock them with a perk. But I'd have to listen to it again.

Yeah, the impression I've got from the most recent info is that it works just like the weapon skills. It's its own style of play.
Remember that these things can change, too. A static MMO is a dead MMO.

I love being werewolves in ES games, so I'm hoping they are able to work it into the formula.
Re: Lycanthropy and Vampirism in TESO
I think, IMO, should be restricted and limited, compared to the other games like Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim, and there should be stations and places for curing lycanthropy/vampirism.

I always make a werewolf character and i will do the same here.
I don't think it should be limited to a quest line but it probably shouldn't be as powerful in PVP.

I'm just going to have a quiver of Silver arrows ready on my Bosmer Archer. Just in case
It's not like my poaching is hurting anyone, the other hunters can hardly track every deer, can they?
Re: Lycanthropy and Vampirism in TESO
I am actually very leery of this. I *want* to be human and have spent many hours in Skyrim getting back my humanity.
Hope this can be avoided or cured without too much trouble.

I very much doubt you'll be forced to become a werewolf or vampire at any point.

I hope you will need to find a cure if infected :-0
And maybe it will be a real infection that most people will want to stay away from...Who knows a vampire hunter guild might rise..

Re: Lycanthropy and Vampirism in TESO
now that the NDA is at least partially lifted, it seems a few points about vampirism and lycanthropy have surfaced and that they are skill lines. From the wording it in the passives it seems that players can convert one another if they wish and I'm guessing you can get cured at some point. It also seems that the fighter's guild will have certain 'tools' to deal with vampires and werewolves. Considering the apparent powers that werewolves and vampires will have I'd like to assume that they will be subject to the effects of the fighter's guild skills.

I want to make a Vampire Dark Elf Sorcerer Tank.
There are some Vampire skills that lend themselves very well to tanking, and Dark elves have some racial passives that might be able to mitigate the Vampires 50% extra fire damage.
