It kinda makes me sad because I know there'll be plenty of my friends opting for the console version that I'll never get to play with.. oh well
I know that if I was dead set on buying one of the consoles already, this would just be gravy on top, hopefully none of the platforms are favored too much...
Though PC will certainly get patches the earliest due to ease, let's hope playstation players won't get left in the dust like with Skyrim's DLC

They already will, though. Both consoles require you to use their paid service (Live Gold and PSN+) to run multiplayer games.

If they decide to bring out ESO as a free to play game, there doesn't have to be a fee on PS4. That is, if they decide ESO will be F2P (which I doubt and I hope they won't).

I can't help but think this is a poor move for the community. The console audience just isn't one I'd want to play an MMO with. I was pleased to see the ESO team providing a lot of online attention, but making it available on consoles will only detract from the elitist feel.

The consoles are on separate servers, though. If you're on PC, you won't be playing with the same people who are on a console. And I don't think the devs care about an "elitist feel" - they just want as many people to be able to get the game as possible.

I haven't decided whether I will be purchasing on Xbox One or PC yet. I'm leaning toward PC since everyone I know was already planning on purchasing it on PC.

This is a good move on there part, even if PC ESO goes the way of every other non-WoW theme park MMO (fast initial growth followed by a quick drop and then ending up in F2P hell, for example The Old Republic) they have no competition in the Console sector, I can't even think of a recent Console MMO.

I really feared that the amount of supplementary work, necessary to release their updates on different platforms, will slow the evolution of the game.

But then XB 1 and PS4 are largely PC's sold at a loss with a control pad. Updates will be much easier to do than trying the same on current gen consoles which don't have anywhere near as much commonality.

I'm sure Zenimax is large enough to accommodate updating different platforms, they would have thought this decision through and hired enough staff to fulfill their goals,

This is great news, though this game could go the console TF2 route and loss support and die quickly. Also, I'd imagine the controls would be more intuitive on the PC. I'll still aim to get this game for PC, simply because it's not worth buying another console for, and my consoles aren't even connected to the internet.

All in all, a smart move that will certainly boost sales and notoriety.

Not everything has to be only on PC Master Race. Why complain about the console audience when you won't be playing with them, and you are making the PC audience look bad by saying things like that.
