It is not the best Armor, but it is not Crap. The Heavy Dragon Armor is between Dwarven & Orcish. The Light Dragon Armor is the same as Chainmail.

They have decent enchantmens. Not the best enchantments (common), but not all that weak either.
Boots - Resist Frost 20pts
Cuirass - Resist Magic 11pts
Gauntlets - Resist Poison 11pts
Greaves - Resist Fire 20pts
Helm - Resis Shock 20pts

If you get the Heavy Dragon Armor, do the The Jemane Brothers quest(s). The reward is the Escutcheon of Chorrol
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Level ... of_Chorrol
Although it is leveled, and you get the best one a levle 25+.
Wt - 36, Health - 1500, Rating - 22.5, Fortify Endurance 10pts - Reflect Damage 35%

Throw in the: Necklace of Swords - Fortify Blade 25pts - Reflect Damage 33%
Ring of the Iron Fist - Fortify Hand to Hand 25pts - Reflect Damage 33%
You end up with 101 points of reflect damage. Hell, it doesn't matter what type of Armor you are wearing then.

Add in an: Elemental Ring - Resist Fire 20%, Resist Frost 20%, Resist Shock 20%
or maybe a: Mundane Ring - Reflect Spell 35%, - Resist Magic 50%
You end up with some Decent Magic Protection.

Seriously people, what is with all the complaining about equipment?

If you are a REAL Champion, then it souldn't matter what you are wearing. :P

If you really just want to be able to cut through the baddies like butter, just enchant some leather with 100% Chameleon.

I think it's crap because you should be able to give it your own enchantments. I thought it was such a waste. Sure, it's just weak enough so everyone's going to be wearing different armor now so all our characters won't look the same, but at least let me change the enchantment on something I'm already resistant to...

Hey Jeff,

not really complaining about the equipment, More of a whinge about the poor quality of items reserved for finishing the main quest. As to being a real champion I could not agree more. A real champion would need petty things like weapons, armour, spells etc.... He should just run round in some sack cloth jocks, punching on with trolls, bandits, orges and such. :D

the armor is simply too weak, my character has 50% armor with just two items, and 50% resist fire too. (my character is a mage, so it just uses CE sheilds on clothing) also the dragon armor has pretty bad enchantments, just resists? sheilds are better, and i think ppl want to enchant it themselves.
mages, the alternitive to poking things with metal sticks.

the best thing i've ever heard, it sucks, chainmail quality? i got better quality stuff off lvl 12 bandits, and it still weighs more than i'd like it to (best mileage per weight is a mage's hood+shirt+pants+shoes, all enchanted with elemental sheild  )

I was pretty excited about this armour...until I saw it was all pre-enchanted...and enchanted with crap. (Resists, not shield, wtf?) So I carried it all with me to go sell it. But somehow most of the armour pieces just disappeared from my inventory(glitch, I guess). So I didn't even get to sell 'em. What a rip off.

Don't like it, the colour is horrible, I thought I'd get some cool stuff, and then I saw it was just that [&@%!] Martin wore during the Battle of Bruma... damn!
AND, it's not very durable (at least not in light armour), the enchantments are low level, with the right sigil stones and high level armour, you could get twice as good armour.

From what I gather the armour isn't intended to be proper armour, but symbolic of the Empire and of the status of its bearer. That's quite common in the real world; lots of Roman Emperors wore ceremonial armour and given the Legion is pretty much a replica it seems fitting. Besides, real champions don't need armour. Gogo underpant warriors! :P

Stats are today, style is forever.

It's more of a roleplaying armor, it looks good and you can walk around town or wear it when you defeat the grey prince in the arena.

Then put on your Daedric Prince armor when really going out to battle.

To get the Dragon Aromor, you have to complete the Main Quest. Counselor Octavo will have it made for you. You get to choose between the Light or Heavy Armor.

What the deuce? I never get to choose, he just gave me light (although I'm not complaing since I have light armour as a major skill), but I didn't knew you could choose.

That's why you got it. You chose Light as a Major.

Actually, I haven't found what determines which type you get.
