Re: TES:O coming to PS4 and XboxOne
An extremely smart move, seeing as they just opened the market up to a whole new group. I have to wonder though, will they use the same servers as the PC's or use their own?

Re: TES:O coming to PS4 and XboxOne
That's a good business move on ZeniMax's part, and great news for console gamers. It kind of messes up my plan, though, as I wasn't intending on getting the Xbox One until next December at the earliest, and I would've just played ES:O on PC. Now I've got to decide which platform I want to play on, and if I choose the Xbox, when exactly I'll buy it. I guess for now I'll just wait for more information to roll in. Still, aside from my selfish complaints, this is a move which has the potential to pay dividends.
Also, Spring 2014? Damn, thought it would be earlier. Although I suppose I'd rather wait longer if it means the game will be better.

Start the groove.

If you're on Xbox One, can you get other players that are on PS4, PC, and Mac?

Nope. PC and Mac will be on the same megaserver, XB1 and PS4 will each have their own megaservers.Alduin123 wrote:If you're on Xbox One, can you get other players that are on PS4, PC, and Mac?

I did! I'm still ticked that I couldn't join in on the beginning of the month's sales on Morrowind and Oblivion just because I have a Mac =\Musicman247 wrote:Pretty slick. Anybody else notice the Mac logo as well?

Re: TES:O coming to PS4 and XboxOne
I'm curious to see how they will handle servers. Will they be cross-platform or not?
Also, this could indicate they are going for a buy to play-formula, since subscription based games on console are pretty much unheard of.
EDIT: I looked it up, every platform will have its own 'megaserver'. Source.

I think Mac support was announced months ago.Musicman247 wrote:Pretty slick. Anybody else notice the Mac logo as well?

If I remember correctly it wasn't confirmed but they announced that their ambition was to bring it to Mac and Linux.Abel wrote:I think Mac support was announced months ago.

Re: TES:O coming to PS4 and XboxOne
OSX is just a customized build of Unix, which Linux is based on, so it shouldn't be too hard.

Re: TES:O coming to PS4 and XboxOne
This is pretty good, will probably go with this version over the PC version. But I wonder of this will still need a subscription, and how would they enforce it on PSN and Xbox live.

Re: TES:O coming to PS4 and XboxOne
I'm thinking its going to have to be buy-to-play now. At least for the consoles. I can't imagine them trying to get subscriptions through Live.

Re: TES:O coming to PS4 and XboxOne
They already will, though. Both consoles require you to use their paid service (Live Gold and PSN+) to run multiplayer games.

But doesn't that money go to Sony/ MS, not Zenimax.

Re: TES:O coming to PS4 and XboxOne
Yes, Mr.Argonian is right, the money goes through MS/Sony, which could lead to console players such as myself paying more as MS/Sony might urge Zenimax to charge more... could also lead to problems, as some console players are reluctant to put credit cards on their account... Playstation players have good reason to be...

Re: TES:O coming to PS4 and XboxOne
That all depends on their business agreement. Naturally Zenimax wouldn't just let Sony run servers of their game without cashing in more than the box sales.Mr.Argonian wrote:But doesn't that money go to Sony/ MS, not Zenimax.

I might have played it a bit just to see was all the fuss was about, and to check out where the TES franchise is heading. But knowing that it will be released on ps4 I know that I will play, and not just check it out

Re: TES:O coming to PS4 and XboxOne
Before now, I was thinking about buying a cpu instead of a next-gen console just to play ESO! Now I don't have to go that route!
