Re: The Sins of Our Fathers
Imhotep yelled again at all of the pain being given. "Your face!" he said after a moment. He ran to Riva, tore off a wet piece of his robe and began to try and clean the wound.

Invictus, Alida and Cato
The little demon was, from Cato and Alida's perspective, still shaking with mirth opposite Invictus, who was staring into a wall. Invictus, meanwhile, still saw things as him standing in front of the giggling demon kid, gun pointed at her.

"Shall we net the kid then?" asked Alida timidly despite feeling confident that the fat demon kid wouldn't be an awful lot of trouble.
I used to be an adventurer like you... then I got a real job... then I got made redundant... then I became an adventurer again... but now I just kill cats.

Invictus
"You... You... You... You turd from the far reaches of the underground! Stop with this madness! Stop with these childish games! What evil is this!?!" he exclaimed, hitting what he thought to be the demon-girl, even though it was just an illusion he was hitting.

Invictus, Alida and Cato
Invictus strike made a loud, wooden thump, the reason for this being obvious to Cato and Alida, though not for himself.
The demon, meanwhile, noticed Alida and Cato, and giggled a bit more.
"Oh... Must've lost concentration about my illusion. Come to kick me back in the 'Bowels of Oblivion', or whatever you call them?" she asked with a smile.
Riva, Imhotep and Timon
The demoness' clothes had gone soggy, and her nose was bleeding from the impact with the stone pavement. She was sobbing lightly, hiding most of her face in her hands.
"W-why do you d-do this to m-me?" she stammered shrilly, sounding dangerously close to hysteria.

Re: The Sins of Our Fathers
Riva took a hold of the demoness's hands, and held them to the pavement on either side of her head. She was straddling her, now, and their mutually faces were inches apart. "Help us help you." She whispered, her violet eyes filled with unidentifiable emotion. "Last chance. Right now."
Re: The Sins of Our Fathers
Invictus
"What illusion?" yelled Invictus, still trying to beat the demoness, though he did not know that he was actually hitting a post and that the demoness was remaining unharmed.

Re: The Sins of Our Fathers
Riva, Imhotep and Timon
The demoness neglected to answer, wallowing in self-pity and sobbing.
The street around them was now completely empty.
Alida, Cato, Invictus
"This one," the demon girl said, snapping her fingers.
To invictus, it was as if he was wearing binoculars on his eyes, and everything suddenly got run through a caleidoscope as the world inverted itself and he regained clear vision staring straight into a wooden beam, the handle of his weapon starting to look a little frazzled from his blows.
The demon girl giggled and made a jump, then started to slowly gain altitude with a pair of large, wide wings clad in a thick, bristly, brown fur as she flew away heading for the exit through just clearing Alida's head, a long, thin, black tail with a rattle on the end of it dangling lazily in front of the demon hunter's face. The demon might be good at illusions, but fast she was not.

Timon felt awkward. What now? "Maybe we could try being a little nicer," He whispered.

Ring-a-ding, baby.

"Bollocks!" bellowed Invictus, aiming his gun at the demoness.
He pulled the trigger and fired, not knowing what effect it would have.

Cato watched as Invictus shot at the demon, wondering what would happen. He got his net ready to throw, in case the demon came within reach.

Re: The Sins of Our Fathers
Timon, Imhotep and Riva
The demoness moved her hands down, allowing her eyes to peek at Riva.
"Is it working?" she deadpanned, voice sad and shaky, but not sounding right alongside the question.
Cato, Alida and Invictus
The gun, though small, recoiled massively, and Invictus' shot barreled over the demon. It did, however, startle the child, who dropped altitude with about the same grace as a sack of bricks, landing heavily on the ground, beginning to run clumsily back out, having a short lead on Alida and a slightly longer one for Cato and Invictus.

Alida ran after the tubby little demon, which required seemingly little effort on her behalf.

Cato also ran toward the demon, net still ready to be thrown at a moments notice.

"I don't know how we can be nicer either, Imhotep." Riva agreed, though less somber than resentful. As the adrenaline of the situation receded, she began dabbing at her cheek, which screamed in pain. "She's about as annoying and malignant a person I have ever met, but that's still no cause for condemnation in my books." She murmured.
"Yeah, you called my bluff." She said more loudly, sarcastically, to the demoness, plopping down beside her, sitting on the pavement.

Re: The Sins of Our Fathers
Riva, Imhotep, Timon
The demoness dropped the crying facade, her face turning hard and cold.
"Not working... Hmph. You think you're so good, don't you?"
Alida, Cato and Invictus
Alida caught up to the kid very quickly, the demon giving up running quickly, decked out as it still was in a frilly, red dress. The chubbiness and the short legs likely weren't helping, either.
"What was that?" she asked Alida, looking around, marginally worried. "That noise?"
Cato caught up a second later, hearing the end of the question.

"Good angels rarely leave their lot in life to join a motley crew of demon-catchers." Riva deadpanned.

Alida didn't reply, instead she tried to circle round the demon whilst readying her net so that she and Cato could catch her from both sides.

Re: The Sins of Our Fathers
"You're not evil, ergo, I'm not dumping you down a volcanic chute." Riva said plainly. "We can't let you go, either. So if you want to get rid of us, bloody well give us a hand."
Re: The Sins of Our Fathers
Invictus cursed as the recoil made him stumble. Much like the demon had done, he found himself in ungraceful descent, landing painfully on his arse. Aching, he rubbed his buttocks, sure as sure as eggs are eggs that he had broken something, although, he hadn't the foggiest as to what he had broken. Was there such a thing as an arsebone? Whatever it was, he was still in pain when it came to stand. He hobbled over to the demoness, trying to regain some dignity.
