Fable 1 remake?!

So lionhead studios has tweeted a teaser video. The video consists of many "people" tweeting things along the lines of "@LionheadStudios will there ever be a remake of the original Fable?" And in the background you hear a deep voice saying "I have returned. After an eternity away from you all, Jack of Blades is back." Along with him throwing his hood on and turning dramatically to the camera in HD awesomeness.

My first reaction was 'meh'. The crack on the mask is just a texture, not an actual crack, which just makes it look kind of cheap. Just my opinion. And I think I liked Fable 2's story better than Fable 1's.

Fable 1 was best Fable, but I don't think I care enough to have wanted an HD remake. Depending, I may grab it since I never played TLC, and if the price is right and its next gen like it seems, who knows.

But will it only be for Xbox? I've only played 3, and I liked it, people complain about it but it's fine for me. I've tried to play The Lost Chapters, but it didn't aged well.

The problem with Fable is that Peter Moloneaux(sp?) promised this huge expansive RPG where every decision you made changed the game world somehow. "Plant an acorn and you can watch a tree grow as you play" is one of the most famous of his promises for Fable.

So instead of people playing it for what it is (an action game with a couple RPG elements) they complain about how it's not what was originally promised. Then with each sequel the developers went further and further from that promise, which made a lot of people give up on the series.

In the bottom right corner of the video, there is a PS4 logo as well as the Xbox One logo. So it seems as if they plan to include Sony this time around.

And Musicman, true. But I still think the game was great, despite Molyneux's overstated goals. It was pretty ambitious for the time, and he was talking out of his ass to an extent, but I thoroughly enjoyed the end product, despite the differences from what we were told.

I liked fable 2, and the whole premise of the game series is very entertaining. But I wouldn't make this out to be something big. It'll be released for the fans who wanted the thing re made. I wouldn't expect much effort put into it. It's an endeavor purely for those fans that have been asking for it for ages.

I got ''The Lost Chapters'' version off my brother, and i had never heard of the game before, and thus never heard any of Peter Molyneux's promises. in the end, i enjoyed the game.

anyways, i thought this was a proper remake, but if its just one with better graphics, i won't bother with it.

Graphical overhaul of the original and added achievements. Same gameplay, it seems. Also a title, "Fable Anniversary".

Never played Fable. Looks pretty bland to me. But Molyneux isn't aboard anymore and that's a good thing.

@Br3ad: Why is that a reason to not play a game?

A remake means that they are out of ideas, see all remakes since the beginning of time *cough* Final Fantasy HDs*; branching that to more consoles means that they care about the cheddar more than making a quality product. Companies have to make money, but that should not be the sole purpose. Quality and all that.

Fable 1 was amazing. I didn't give a crap about what Molyneux said was going to be in the game, compared to what actually was there.

It was a great game, and even now I've spent more hours in Fable 1 than I have in Skyrim.

Dunno if I'll bother picking this up though, I've still got my old Lost Chapters somewhere, AND it works on 360.

There's also a leaked image of potential games that will be announced at E3 and Fable 4 is on the list. I've only played the demo of the original and that was on PC. I'll definitely get it.

That's what most of the news about this has been ab out. it's nto a reboot to make the game better.
It's a nostalgia thing. It's for the people who loved the first game and wanted to play it again with better graphics. like the FF VII remake a while ago.
