Killing Umbra

Post by rainhotstuff »

Okay, I'm level 1 atm and want to kill Umbra to get the sword. I've read wiki and I've tried the methods they give but none work for me. So can anybody give me some tips on how to kill her?

get a bow and a ton of arrows or a good staff with soul gems .

Now read carefully
There is a table in the room with umbra and there should be a basket nearby. Pick up the basket and put it on the table so its laying next to the pillar on the table. then you jump on the basket then on the pillar. if you did it right you should be at an area where umbra can't reach you then you can just fire away

Killing her at level 1 is going to be hard, because she's level 50 and has high level armor. If you can get paralyze potions or a paralyze spell, that would probably help a lot.

Here's Umbra's UESP page, it has her stats, as well as some ways to kill her. I know you said you tried all the methods, but you might still find something helpful.

Use the difficulty slide and put it to the lowest. If you don't want to do that, use the Goblin Shaman Staff you get at the beginning and if that won't kill her after it's out of charges, just use all those arrows you get at the beginning and fire away. But sometimes her shield will disappear if when she dies.. :x

Might be done but I'm pretty sure if you drop a weapon and use disintegrate weapon she should drop umbra for the other weapon..then you can just run. Or charm, do that, and yield..

Sure, but the easiest way is to simply dial down the difficulty to 0 and smack the hell out of her with a powerful attack. You're going to have to exploit "something" in order to kill a level 50 with a level 1 character...so why go the hard route?

I doubt most lvl 1 characters will have a calm spell powerful enough to affect a lvl 50 NPC.

I think it would go like this:
calm, hack, die

I'm a pretty low level right now and I'm going to get the jemane brothers, martin, and jauffre to follow me and then I'll just go on the pillar where you can't be hurt and hit her once. Let the essential followers do the rest.
Hi, I'm a Canadian :]

there is also a strategy about leading her into the dungeons traps and just play keep away until the traps do her in.
