Re: Aurora: Rising Sun
Rashmi saw Doreston flying a red flag printed with a crown and a fist - a Wolfman's fist - flying on the capitol building. Novar were living in the city, happy and laughing.

Ring-a-ding, baby.

Re: Aurora: Rising Sun
"I see the capitol building here in Doreston flying a Novar flag, and Novar living in the city. Any other ideas? Don't have much more time with him, here." Rashmi thought back to the female Novar, practicing the forbidden magic, wondering if anything useful could be learned from that, or if she could identify the kind of magic being practiced.

Re: Aurora: Rising Sun
Rashmi only knew that they were what the Novar had called Ae'karonnis, probably the basic equivalent of 'witch'.

Ring-a-ding, baby.

Re: Aurora: Rising Sun
"Hmph, that's not much help. Well...About the only other thing I can think of, here..." Rashmi read the Novar to see if the area above them was clear of Novar soldiers, and if there was anywhere nearby they had not yet searched for the counsellors.

Re: Aurora: Rising Sun
Rashmi saw a small pocket of resistance where the Novar weren't going inside their controlled territory. The Councilors may be hiding there, among friends.

Ring-a-ding, baby.

Re: Aurora: Rising Sun
"Hold up, this may be something..." Rashmi tried to focus more on this bit of information--specifically, she tried to figure out how to get there. "The Novar don't seem to have complete control of the city, here...There's an area that is resisting...The Councillors may be there. I'll see if I can recognize where exactly this is..."

Re: Aurora: Rising Sun
It wasn't far away from their current location. The Novar's thoughts were quickly fading.

"That location isn't far. I think we've gotten enough from him, here." She pressed more telekinetic energy into his noggin, trying to make the Novar lose consciousness.

Kari, meanwhile, merely frowned and aimed her shortbow at the Novar, letting fly an arrow at one of his eyes.
"Divine that, chijin."

The arrow killed the Novar before anyone could react. It looked like it was time to head up.

Herbert put his hands to his head. "You [&@%!] [&@%!]. Why did you do that?" said Herbert in an angry tone.

Re: Aurora: Rising Sun
Rashmi looked down at the Novar, shocked for a moment. A second later, she delivered a blow of telekinetic energy to Kari's nose. A flurry of words escaped her. "You impudent, murderous little b*tch!" She no longer bothered to keep her voice down. "You're no better than the murderers we brought to justice, those who were killing the other units. An unarmed prisoner? You arrogant fool. You're no better than the Novar who bombed this city, and if you kill a defenceless prisoner again, or compromise us, I will see you arrested and imprisoned."
She turned on her heel, facing Griffith. "You compromised us. They hadn't seen us. They could have walked off, and there wouldn't have been any need for bloodshed. You're BETTER than that. Learn to stay your hand, because if you compromise us, if you get any of us killed, I will see you punished as well."
Rashmi ran a hand over her hairless scalp. "I just want to do what I can for the war effort, help as many people as I can, and get home safely. If any of you resent me for counselling patience and compassion and for condemning STUPIDITY and war crimes, then say so now, and damn you, because I have no more patience for cleaning your messes. We have a job to do, and peoples' lives are at stake, so HELP, or stay out of the way."

Re: Aurora: Rising Sun
Sakhr turned away from the dead Novar and swallowed, hoping the conviction he felt would disappear with the saliva. It's all part of the adventure, right? he asked himself, trying to find some assurance beyond the moral grey area that was Kari. He then turned back around and said anxiously, "We shouldn't linger here."

Re: Aurora: Rising Sun
"Don't you act all high and mighty with me, old tart!" Kari hissed back. "Last I heard, this was a war, and like it or not, we're in the [&@%!] army, ze!"
"Last I checked, I wasn't going around setting civilians on fire, so either you have one screwed up sense of perspective, or apparently shooting one enemy SOLDIER is the same as baking the entire population of small towns."
She went to look up the manhole, shooting a rude gesture at Rashmi.
"Go die in a well."

Herbert walked up to Kari and really wanted to punch her in the face. He didn't, for now. "Start acting sane or [&@%!] off. Pick, now." said Herbert. "You don't want to be here. None of us want you here. So how about you stop committing war crimes and go home."

"And give you the satisfaction?" Kari was beginning to try to exit through the manhole. "No. I'll win. I always end up with the trophy. One way or another. The Spyglass always wins."

"Kill another unarmed prisoner, or jeopardize our mission, and I'll see you join Claudette in The Abyss." Rashmi turned to Herbert. "You may as well release hold on your thrall, now." She looked up the manhole. "Our destination isn't far. I know where to go." Rashmi headed up the ladder.

Eager to escape the dank sewer, Sakhr wordlessly followed Rashmi up the ladder.

"One, two, three, go team," muttered Randall sarcastically as he put away his bow and began to go up the ladder.
Start the groove.
