I was walking toward Rorikstead and an elk just dropped out of the sky. Dead. No dragon there, no parachute. Just an average elk succumbing to gravity from an unknown point in space.

Re: Skyrim Moments You Just Have to Share!
Most deflating moment of my ES career:
I was wandering along outside, at night, in some eery snowy forest. Some innocent citizen of the region comes striding down the path, so I decide to hop out in front of him in werewolf form. I do, and complete the image of terror with a roar that shudders the screen. Impressive, right? At the very least, scary. Not really, apparently.
The stupid guy on the path pulls an ax out of no-freaking-where, shouts, "I'm not afraid of you!" and lops of my level 5 character's head in one swing.
The jerk wasn't even wearing armor, he was that arrogant.

It only counts as arrogance when the werewolf eats you. If you behead it with one swing, it gets reclassified as being a big damn hero.

My low-level mage and his pal went in Dragonsreach to collect a bounty. Right after, as my mage was at Farengar's table to enchant a few items.. he gets attacked from behind.
Out of nowhere came three hired thugs, and a huge fight ensues, Farengar's equipments on the table flying everywhere as the Jarl slays a thug. Lydia, the Jarl's attendants, a guard, the court wizard.. everyone helped in the fight.
Shocked, I check the thugs to find the hiring contract: it's signed by Farengar himself
I guess I took his Gauldur legend - related book and forgot! And here he tries a public execution

I was slidin' down a cliff, when a fox jumped next to me, fell down and died. And just 1 second later, an Orc bandit fell own too and died. I gave them both a proper burial once down, and named them Sindy the Suicidical Fox and Sogum the Suicidical Orc. May their souls rest in piece.

Ha ha, I love those oddities that make you laugh. Maybe the fox and the Orc were involved in a distance marathon race together and were too 'in the zone' to notice the sudden drop.

I hear roars, I pull out my axe.
Look around, the roars are moving around. I still don't see it.
Boom. A dragon crashes vertically right in front of me.
I say vertically because It flew straight into the ground in a line, and died.

Once I visited Solitude and one of the npcs (can't remember which one) somehow got on top of a glow bug and he floated gradually to the top of the town.
So yeah. Apparently bugs have hit boxes. I was able to ride one fairly high. Try it out yourselves. Just make sure it is night time so they spawn.

All insects do. Just try running at a butterfly or a bee - it will stop you just like running into a brick wall. I once got killed by a bandit because my brand new level 1 mage "stumbled over a bee" and didn't get out of a way in time to avoid a power attack with a greatsword. Splat.

Re: Skyrim Moments You Just Have to Share!
Skyrim fail for me:
I depend heavily on my sneak skill and I set it back to level 15......... For the next few hours I am slaughtered until I decided to load the game back to when I had my sneak skill.
I take out countless enemies with my trusty bow and arrows and sneak skills.
I decide to kill some of the emperors guard force. I kill a solitude guard with him and all the guards run after me. I then call in a dragon along with my spectral assassin and some others and sit back and watch the slaughter.
Needless to say Solitude was left defenseless for quite some time.

What goes around, comes around: the reason insects have a hit box is because you can shoot them out of the air using a bow and arrow. Which, upon experiencing that for the first time, is my small moment of share.dzio wrote:All insects do. Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.
Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.

Re: Skyrim Moments You Just Have to Share!
My breton battlemage, Arielle Milvan, was informed by Florentius that her good friend Fastred had been kidnapped by a twisted blood-sucker from Pinemoon Cave. She gathered her things and asked Durak for his help. He agreed, and they were off.
They tore through the cave with a righteous vengeance, borne only by the Blessed of Stendarr. When all of the nightspawn had felt the spiritual separation only cold steel can give, Fastred was nowhere to be found!
We carried the weight of our terrible news back to Riften. As they got out of the carriage, she sent Durak back to Fort Dawnguard and shouldered the burden alone.
Crossing the bridge into the city-center, she was shocked to see Fastred stuck between the tree and the wall behind Snilf!
Approaching Fastred in an attempt soothe the confusion threatening to overtake her mind; Fastred thanked Arielle furiously and rushed off to find Bassianus.
huh?

Re: Skyrim Moments You Just Have to Share!
Today I finally reached level 10 on my Nord Warrior and was looking forward to starting the Dawnguard DLC. I get the quest marker and quick traveled to Riften to start the walk to the actual fort. Well after fighting off some vampires in front of Riften (an epic battle by the way, at least eight vampires versus me, three Riften Gurards, and four random npcs) I started down the dirt path and eventually arrived at the bridge before the cave entrance to the Dawnguard Fortress.
Now, this wasn't my first time taking this path, and I knew there was a wolf spawn point on the other side of the bridge. So, with sword and shield ready, I charged forward and sure enough I could see the three wolves coming toward me on the other side of the bridge.
Well at least two of them were wolves. . .
You see, after killing the two in the front of the pack I readied myself to kill the third, but as I turned the camera to face it I realized it wasn't a wolf. It was a dark brotherhood assassin. I literally jumped in my chair before frantically swinging my sword and bashing with my shield to kill the sneaky little guy. It wasn't that this was my first encounter that startled me (I've been attacked by several dark brotherhood assassins), it was how convinced I was that he was a wolf that took me by so much surprise.
I mean he was literally crouched down, low to the ground, and was moving in unison right with the other wolves. In hindsight I have to applaud his skills as an assassin: never before in my time playing Skyrim have I ever felt I had a legitimate, carefully thought-out and creative assassination attempt made on me lol

Re: Skyrim Moments You Just Have to Share!
So this is the best moment i've ever had in Skyrim. I was sneaking up the tower in the ruins of Helgen. My Redguard snuck up on the lone bandit bowman at the top of the tower, and let fly from just down the stairs a bit. Then the kill cam activated. The bandit must of detected me just before i fired and i watched as he turned around in slow motion... to see an arrow strike up at his chest, propelling him in a ridiculously massive backflip up and cleanly over the battlements. I had just downloaded the patch that introduced ranged kill-cams and i must say i was impressed.
Every time i return to Helgen i try to replicate this, with no success

Re: Skyrim Moments You Just Have to Share!
In a week and a half I have managed to get my current fave character to level 36 with a sneak skill of 100. I decided that I would join the theives guild and see if I could actually complete the questline this time. (Instead of getting stuck in those creepy, falmer-infersted ruins.) Well, I get to speaking w/silence and a stupid dragon priest spawns in front of the word wall. First thought - "Oh hell no." I decide to see if I can hide up on the platform while Mercer battles away. It worked. I would get in a head shot every time Mercer went down then go hide again till he went down again. I worked beautifully. I make it through the ruin and talk to Karliha (think I spelled that wrong). I head over to my horse and mount up. "No worries" I was thinking. All of a sudden here come FIVE, I repeat FIVE, frost trolls. I take off towords Winterhold and go all the way to the front doors of the college on my horse. I escaped tghe frost trolls, but decided to never go back to Snow Veil to grab that darned ship for Delvin.

I was playing Solstheim. I have max sneak- all perks and I had two ebony daggers (superior)
I snuk up behind a dragon priest who had almost full health and took him down with one hit.

I have no idea why, but my player character's followers from TES V: Skyrim seem hell-bent on eradicating the province's fox population. While my hero trots off in search of dragons to slay, they go berserk and give chase to furry woodland creatures with savage war cries.

After playing 250+ hours there are many moments, but the best are these:
Beheading a guy with a fork and a knife (you can find usable ones outside your house in Riften)
Dragon crash-landing like this:
Neloth having a basket stuck in his leg and walking around with it...
And of course (civil war spoilers):

Re: Skyrim Moments You Just Have to Share!
I just discovered how to get stoned as much as you want on skyrim for roleplaying or leisure purposes using a rare potion and a simple glitch.
You just get some sleeping tree sap (or redwater skooma if you have dawnguard) and the use the simple item dupe glitch
drop something by a loading screen door, tell your follower to pick it up, go through the door, come back through the door and your item will be on the floor, pick it up and then take the original back from your follower. Repeat this process with sleeping tree sap or redwater skooma and you can get stoned as much as you like

During my first playthrough when I was still a noob, I was supposed to, for unrelated reasons, get a Briar Heart and kill the leader of Drudach Redoubt for the Jarl. I didn't know that removing a Briar Heart from a Briarheart killed them.

Re: Skyrim Moments You Just Have to Share!
I killed a dragon and saved the people of Riverwood. I saved all their lives. However, in the fire fight, I mistakenly killed a chicken and after I saved everyone in Riverwood, a guard came up to me stated that I'd pay for breaking the law.
