I'll be sticking to the box, if only because my 360 profile has grown on me.

In an ideal world I'll be remaining firmly grounded in the glorious golden palaces of the master race but if devs start using these new consoles as an excuse to screw their PC players over even more then I'll get the PS4. No way am I touching the Xbox One while it has a name like that.

If the PS4 uses no form of online DRM and is user friendly. Basically, a PS3 on steroids with added features, then i will choose the PS4. If it does make the user jump through hoops and has online DRM, neither and will just invest in a gaming PC once i have a full time job and the cash to spare.

isn't the new one supposed to be easier to code for? i would like to think those issues are a thing of the past.Mattbott wrote: also TES doesn't seem to get the support on PS
i'll be going for whichever system first has a game i want to play.
although one factor to consider - importing my dragon age game save, which is on my xbox, and which i'm assuming will be possible.

I'll probably get the One some time later this year.

Check the Xbox One thread. It's not backwards compatible. Neither is the PS4. Both are switching processor architectures.umber hulk wrote: although one factor to consider - importing my dragon age game save, which is on my xbox, and which i'm assuming will be possible.

right but dragon age 3 will have an import save feature right? like for the warden/hawke back story. will it be possible to do that cross generation using gamertag/cloud?Musicman247 wrote:Check the Xbox One thread. Re: Xbox One or PS4?
That doesn't have anything to do with backwards compatibility. The data the game requires will be extracted from your saves in some way. I'm sure BioWare will think of something.

Re: Xbox One or PS4?
DA3 will be coming out for the current generation of consoles. At least, that is what's implied. The Warden will never feature or be mentioned in another DA game because of David Gaider. Apparently, he hates the Warden and Darkspawn as well as Grey Wardens thus will not have them feature in DA3.umber hulk wrote:right but dragon age 3 will have an import save feature right? like for the warden/hawke back story. will it be possible to do that cross generation using gamertag/cloud?Musicman247 wrote:Check the Xbox One thread. The PS4 is said to be set up like a PC inside and i assume the Xbox has the same set up so it should be easy for Bethesda to code for. They have 8GB of RAM to work with on the consoles and the specs are powerful(i think) so with any lucky, Bethesda will end up losing their "Bugthesda" reputation and produce bug free to little amounts of minor bugs games.

Re: Xbox One or PS4?
What does the RAM have to do with bugs? Bethesda games aren't full of bugs because of platform limitations, Bethesda just isn't very good at making bug-free games.

Re: Xbox One or PS4?
Apparently, the main cause of lag on the PS3 was caused by it's small amount of RAM. Think it only has 512mbs of it. Think Bethesda themselves confirmed it. But that said, the Cell layout is confusing and very hard to code for.

Mars is right. The bugs depend on the game.

Re: Xbox One or PS4?
True but that was the cause of the Creation engine and hopefully, the increased RAM gives Bethesda more to work with to eliminate any and all RAM related bugs. If they do use the Creation engine for TES6 that is.

Re: Xbox One or PS4?
The bugs featured on PCs with 16GB's of Ram too. You do know what RAM actually does right? Bethesda's huge amount of bugs are brought on by shoddy coding not the specs on our current generation of consoles.
Neither the Xbox One or the PS4 look very appealing to me so I'll be going with neither - at least for the time being.

Re: Xbox One or PS4?
I know what RAM is and thought we were still on about Bethesda's coding? Anyway, hopefully, the PCesque layout of both consoles will make it easier to code for and hopefully, reduce the chance of buggy games if the developer's engine is decent and they are given enough time to code it properly.

Well neither are available for purchase for the time beingVelvet LeChance wrote: at least for the time being.
As far as RAM, the Xbox One has 5GB of RAM dedicated to games and 3GB set aside for the rest of the functions (app switching, internet browser, Skype, etc.). I haven't heard the technical breakdown of the PS4's architecture.

Re: Xbox One or PS4?
I have a Xbox360 atm (although in the past had a PS1 and PS2), but with the infomation out atm (which by no means is enough for me to make an informed decision) I am leaning towards a PS4.

Not really a console person. Last console I owned was a Nintendo 64. I'll stick to my PC.

Re: Xbox One or PS4?
What I do at the moment is PS3 and then to a lesser extent PC. It'll probably be the same with PS4 and then to a lesser extent PC. I might get a 360 after the Xbox One comes out seeing as it should be cheap.
Anyway I won't be getting the PS4 at launch.
