Tamrielic Adventures: Vol. 2

Gaenidil sighed and pointed a hand at one of the beasts. "Shhh... You're mine now.." He said as he cast a command animal spell that his people were notorious for.

[Per]

"Eh-heh," replied Per. He looked uncomfortably down on Arellius' hand on his shoulder.

"Yeah, of course, friend. 'Cept the manhoodhunt part," added with a small cough. "You know. 'Cause they're gals." A half-hearted laugh escaped his lips as he eyed Arellius up and down to look for something. The big Nord wasn't sure why Gudrun's main thug was being so friendly all of a sudden, but he assumed nothing good would come of it.

"So, this being a manhunt and all... ya figure I could use a weapon, right? Because of the hunting part. My axe mysteriously disappeared some time ago. Must've dropped in the sea or something, I dunno. It'd just be kinda hard to participate in the hunt without one, you know. Heh."

Desele's, Suran

The fight had been going on for hours. Everyone was exhausted. Llevana put her foot against the last of the kagouti's head and pushed. Her blade slid out of the creature's skull with the ear-wrenching sound of metal scraping over bone.

The Dunmer looked at her fellow fighters as they were doing whatever each of them would do after a battle this fierce; wiping blades, sitting down and panting, and whatever else. Some had had their hair and skin burned by stray fireballs, while others had wounds inflicted upon them by kagouti teeth. She couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment, looking at the aftermath of such a marvelous display of energy.

"Well," she began, her voice hoarse. "You all seem to handle yourselves pretty well." She sought out Llela to see if she had sustained any injuries.

"Are you alright, love?" she asked, in a lower voice so that no one would overhear.

Suran Desele's

Psyfalia was sat against a wall nursing her wounds. The beasts had managed to sink their fangs deeply into her arm and she was caught in a stray fireball during the fight. She closed her eyes and casted an advanced healing spell on herself whilst crying out in pain. "Does anyone require healing?" She asked the room during the healing spell. She was drained of energy and it was a sheer luck that she still had enough magicka left for her spell. "I'm thankful for my talent in destruction magic. Sorry about destroying a few tables during the fight and causing fire damage to the walls." She said to dunmer in an exhausted tone. Her right sleeve was damp with her blood and two puncture marks were visible over the two deep holes in her arm.

Suran, Desele's

The tall Dunmer was in the process of retrieving her arrows from one of the Kagouti corpses. She didn't look up immediately.

"I've been better" She said grimly, "But they're just scratches and bruises. I'll be fine."

Once she had filched any retrievable arrows from the creature's hide, she straightened and looked her partner in the eye. "Vana, this is weird as hell." She said, her scarlet eyes wide and serious. "Kagouti are wild animals. They don't do this kind of thing."

That wasn't supposed to appear as friendly, Per.

Arellius Afer III - Nerevar's Prowess.

Arellius' grin only widened as the Nord responded, making the transition from not just cruel but to diabolical. He seemed willing to hunt down his own friends - which was good thing, make it easier for him once they were out on the actual hunt. Less need to beat the other man around.

However the smile relaxed as he spoke, his voice loud and booming. His tone cordial though there was an edge to it, a sort of malevolent manner to his speech.

"Ya lost yer axe, eh?" He asked, taking his hand of the others shoulder. "Steel one? Think I might'a found it if it was." He paused a moment, reaching down to clutch the axe hilt in his right hand "I like it though. Strong. Sturdy. Looks like it could take'a man's head off in one swing. 'Nd I've never'ad an axe before, might be nice t'try it out"

Any hint of mirth suddenly disappeared from his countenance as he brought the axe up for the other man to see, replaced by a more threatening look. However his tone was still remained the same, friendly but at the same time containing an equal degree of hostility. "Ya don't mind if I keep it do ya? Ya can always get another one. It's just'an axe. Plenty more where it came from."

Desele's

Valentia slumped against a wall, panting as she tried to ignore the bleeding from her leg. What with all her evasive actions and invisibility spells, she still took more hits than she had cared to.

She fumbled around in her pack, gritting her teeth to distract herself from the pain in her calf as she searched for a health potion. It was times like that made her curse herself for being so unorganized.

Katien panted quietly. "Ah.. Ah.." She muttered softly, a few cuts and scraps all over, a cut on her cheek. "Ahh.."

Alindrel banished her last summon, wiping a bit of soot of her face from a fireball, which strafed her half an hour earlier. Otherwise, she was fine and completely unharmed. She looked around and the general scene of mayhem.

"Wow..." she said chipperly, "When was the party, and how did I miss that?"

Dresele's

Sinyail, having been knocked to the ground unconscious by the kagouti's charge at the start, finally came around. He proceeded to survey the damage, while casting a healing spell on himself, before speaking.

"Anyone want a healing spell cast on their wounds?"

Desele's Suran

Psyfalia said to Sinyail "No thanks, already used healing magic. But thanks for the offer. I'm just going to sit here for a bit. Shouldn't have used that spell against them." in the same exhausted voice. Her healing spell had cured all of her injuries but had left her unable to cast any more spells for a while. She withdrew a small blue bottle from her robes and downed the rest of the contents in one go. She rested her head against the wall and felt an influx of energy rushing through her but remained where she was. Surprised it survived the battle.Should prevent the shaking for a few more days. Must buy more of it soon as I'm sure i only have 2 bottles left.

Unsure if i've godmodded or not as i'm unsure about Mar's rules about spells being cast on the caster. Will edit if i have.

@CBR: no worries.

@Dovah: Healing yourself completely after a battle is fine, since you're not giving yourself an unfair advantage. All I'm against is giving yourself over the top buffs all the time, avoiding obstacles I specifically places in your way through cheap and uncreative means, and taking control of other players' actions without their consent.

I have no intention of giving her over the top buffs. She is a powerful destruction mage and healer but only possess basic spells of the other schools of magic. I did give her a custom spell that consisted of a ball of fire,ice and lighting and had it burn her hands due to it being a work in progress earlier. Unsure if that will be allowed again or not though. If not, will not use it again.

Don't worry about it. This goes to anyone: If you're unsure about using an ability or a spell of your character's, you can ask me first. However, I generally won't be against it, unless it's completely overpowered. Remember: we're not playing a game to win, we're writing a story. We want to make things interesting, not make our characters stand out as the most powerful.

Even if you do use an ability that I consider inappropriate, I'm not going to raise hell and kick you from the RP, so don't worry. I'll either sort it out via PM with you, or conjure up a Deus Ex Machina to fix what you broke. The only time I'll outright kick you is if you have nothing to add and only cause trouble; which shouldn't happen. It's only been the case once, and I'm pretty sure that the guy in question had sustained severe brain damage at some point in his life.

I will ask you before using the custom spells in the future. All of them should reflect how talented Psyfalia is at destruction and healing magic and will try to balance it out by having negative sides to it.

TLD - just so you know, part of learning how to use spells that affect others in TES is separating the effect from the caster - being unable to keep them separate is the mark of a novice, doesn't matter what school of magic, whether it's launching a fireball, or casting an illusion, or binding a daedra...

Fundamentally, she shouldn't be getting burnt from her own spells. It's the first thing that's learnt is not having that happen. Well, first practical thing.

I know but the spell is a work in progress and she did put too much focus on the fire part of it. Should have actually mentioned that. And there may another factor that caused it as well.

Exausted, Aenar slumped down into a chair, examining himself for wounds. Surprisingly, he had only suffered a somewhat-minor cut down his left leg. After searching through his pack for a healing potion and not finding one, he thought Oh well. Guess I'll have to let it heal like a true Nord.

being a work in progress wouldn't cause it to affect her, the handling magic aspect is something that goes for all spells - she might not necessarily be able to control how powerful it is or how much magicka it costs her or how much of each element there is, but she will be able to not get burnt by it. Well, assuming it doesn't explode and burn the building down... But prepping it to cast shouldn't hurt her unless she missed out something rather basic - it's exactly the same in that regard whether your trying to cast flames or firestorm in Skyrim for example.

Hi everyone! I haven't had much roleplaying experience and I'm not that familiar with this period in Tamriel's history, so I apologize in advance for any mistakes I may make. But anyway, Mars said I could join in right away. Here's my character, since it's not on the post on the front page yet:

Name: Niralie
Race: Altmer
Sex: Female
Age: 24
Appearance: Like all Altmer, Niralie is tall and golden-skinned. She has dark brown to black hair, which is somewhat longer than shoulder length, which she tends to wear loose with some small braids to hold it in place.
Personality: Niralie has a thoughtful nature and doesn't like to jump into things without thinking about them first. She's also a bit of a bookworm.
A short bio: Niralie was born in the Imperial City. Her parents encouraged her to train in magic since she was fairly young. While she did attend the Arcane University for several years, she grew restless and eager to see new places. She bought a sword and took some lessons for a time, and then ventured out to see the world.
Skills: She's passable with a sword thanks to her lessons, but hasn't had much experience using it in a real fight yet. As far as magic, she's most skilled in Destruction and Restoration. She also knows how to enchant items, and paid for her supplies by selling the things she had enchanted.

Niralie walked wearily down the streets of Suran, eager to spend the remainder of the day resting after traveling all day on foot. She spotted what she believed to be a tavern, judging by the banner hanging outside, and headed toward it. When she opened the door, however, she was stunned at the state of disarray. Tables were knocked over, there were burn marks everywhere, and everyone looked a bit disheveled, some nursing injuries. "What... what happened here?" she gasped, her hand still on the door handle.

"These creatures barged in and attacked us." Psyfalia said whilst sitting against the wall.

"No, I think we're all good," Llevana said to the Altmer. She realized that she sounded very tired. Apart from the obvious physical exhaustion, there was too much going on. Too many people, and too many questions. She decided to let someone else deal with the young High Elf who had just entered the tavern, and turned to approach the mysterious Dunmer...who had gone to greet the young High Elf who had just entered the tavern.

"Some crazed kagouti ransacked the city," the tall Dark Elf explained to Niralie. "The last of them have been dealt with, but everyone's tired. I'm afraid you've chosen a bad time to come to Su-"

"You there!" Llevana pulled at the Dunmer's shoulder, in order to force him to pay attention. She turned to Niralie before continuing. "I'm sorry to interrupt your conversation, but our friend here has some questions to answer. You can go talk to the girl over there, she'll clue you in." Llevana was pointing at Llela, a few meters across the room.

Psyfalia observed the three elves before getting up. The contents of her small blue bottle had given her an influx of energy. Over the course of a few seconds, she went from being exhausted to normal. She asked the room "Anyone in need of healing? I am talented in the restoration school of magic and can heal most wounds." Her tone was full of pride and kind. She knew she would only be able to cast the basic spells due to her magicka reserves still returning to her but she knew she had enough to cast the simple ones.
