Plagues and travel

Post by Darius »

I'm almost certain I am missing the obvious here but I can't for the life of me figure it out. I figured joining would be worth while as in all likelihood I will be sticking around. Google was of no help, either.

I contracted the plague whilst in Labyrinthian, rendering me unable to travel back to Windhelm. Fast travel seems to be the only way to get out of there as touching the exit brings up the travel map and closing you takes you back inside. And no I don't have any means of a cure. What can I do?

If there is a shrine closer to you than Windhelm, go there. Otherwise, you're [&@%!].

I tried every place in the Skyrim area and I died every time. Are you saying that getting the plague in a dungeon and having no cure or saves means I'm stuck and have to start a new game. That's quite the oversight on the developer's part no matter how old.

How long have you had the disease? If you turned back right as you got it, you should have been able to get somewhere before it killed you.

In any case, it's always a good idea to keep multiple saves for a character.

Oh so it's time based? Well I'm certainly screwed in that case. This is my first time playing Arena and had no clue how plague actually worked other than some stat reductions, all I know is that I must have gotten it while doing Labyrinthian.

Yeah, Arena and Daggerall don't joke around. Getting a disease is a death sentence. I suggest having at least two different saves, so that you can go back and do things differently if you screw up too badly. The way I usually do it is Save 1 = [character name], Save 2 = [character name] - Dungeon. Inside the dungeon I also save on two different save slots, one after the other. This makes everything a lot easier. It's a very gamey thing to do, but it's way too punishing otherwise.

If you get a disease, turn back right away. You're not going to make it otherwise.

Once I get past the initial frustration I wouldn't have it any other way. I welcome the added immersion more than today's hand holding. New game time. And thanks for the tips

I am not sure if there is a potion that can cure the plauge or not maybe a cure disease potion? I keep a stock of each kind of cure potion with me since I have no magic as an assassin but so far havn't come accross any kind of plauge only poison, disease and being cursed. I am assuming it was a zombie that may have infected you. But you have the right attitude.. Never give up! Never surrender! Tamriel must be saved! 8)
