Jes bought a new game
Dragons dogma... Overall grade is a C.... Terrible game... I traded in 3 games I never play and I'm regretting it... Graphics are a B controls are a B combat is a C inventory is a F interaction with npcs is a D travel is a D map is a D quest line is a C.... Only thing I like is the bosses they look pretty cool and you can climb the backs of them and attack them but you suffer speed in you slashes... I jes can't stand the inventory.... It's terrible.... I have no clue about the ingredients.... And the merchants suck.... I have a house but I can't sleep there I have to pay the inn but my bed is two houses down... I haven't figured out the storage yet.... The companions don't seem half bad tho... A lot of ppl are saying this game. Is better than skyrim... Are they high..? Not much freedom in this game and I see a lot of respawning boxes if I leave an area and come right back... Plus I have to strike the boxes to see what's inside them... That's terrible.... Hopefully this game gets better once I figure out what all this stuff I'm collecting is for... Skyrim is very noob friendly and anything you pick up can be easly accessed and used... No instructions needed... This game takes a lot of reading to figure out what I have to do to even make a simple potion... Terrible... Don't buy it...

Don't listen to this guy. Dogma is a good game in its own right. Its NOT Skyrim, so stop comparing it to it. The combat is where it really really shines. The combat and magic is a thousand times better than skyrim.DannyChi wrote:Dragons dogma... Overall grade is a C.... Terrible game... I traded in 3 games I never play and I'm regretting it... 3 days in and I'm actually enjoying the quest line and exploring..... Jumpin the gun cuz I'm spoiled... Everybody likes the combat... It's ok to me... I like the freedom of skyrim but dogma is def growing on me... Lots of things to do and I'm getting the hang of crafting and the whole inventory situation... It jes takes some time to figure it out while skyrim is more simplified... So I give it a solid b

Re: Dragon's Dogma.
I've picked up Dark Arisen recently. Basically, it's a complete edition and is very cheap. Only £20! :O And i'm enjoying it. Okay, the plot seems to be generic but the world and atmosphere makes up for it. As well as the combat system and many sidequests. Currently playing as a female elven strider and my main pawn is one as well. Both have maxed out the strider vocation and am toying with turning my main pawn into either a ranger, or magic archer as she is a better shot then i am. Turns out that Burning Razors(flame daggers) is one of the most useful weapons in the game but i do wish that my bloody mage pawn would stop casting the darkness enchantment as it overrides the flames. Not useful when you are up against a lot of sulfur Saurians.
I am level 27 and many enemies are becoming easier to kill. Goblins are a joke, Ogres can be a challenging but fun fight. I find that climbing onto their head and using Hundred Kisses works best against them. Hate wolves but i generally hate them in gaming due to how annoying they can be. Yes, i'm looking at you TES! Cyclops are very easy. Hundred Kisses and climbing=dead Cyclops in a few minutes. In fact, i think it works against almost anything. Have completed 2 of the Wyrm hunt quests and bought the Hero's cloak as i think it looks excellent. Am going to use that for the rest of the game. I'm starting to hate Harpies as they are more of an annoyance and caused me to fail Selene's escort quest(which i reload from a checkpoint and not going to do it untill i'm a higher level). Quina seems to be in love with my Arisen and i'm glad she is as that is who i'm aiming for.
Going to do the rest of the hunt quests and finish up any sidequests i have active before seeing the Duke then do more sidequests. Tried Dark Arisen last week, realised it was not aimed at low level characters, retreated back to Gransys and focused on the original's main plot. Discovered a portcrystal and used that for Adaro's escort quest.

Re: Dragon's Dogma.
I could have sworn that was an option for my main pawn? If not, then i'll try to decide whether i should use the Assassain class or the Ranger one. The ranger one does sounds better as my main pawn seems to hang back and use ranged attacks a lot. Which is useful as i'm a crap shot with the bow. Due to controller issues. How useful is the magic archer as i may turn my arisen into one.

Re: Dragon's Dogma.
Magick Archer is fairly okay, slower bolts, but it has auto targeting. The skills have set enchantments however which may make it more difficult as enchantments won't override the skill enchantments.
(I'm basing the pawn/MA off original DD.)

Re: Dragon's Dogma.
That will probably be more of an annoyance then helpful. May turn Arisen into assassain and Main Pawn into a ranger. I tend to use melee a lot whilst she uses ranged attacks a lot.

May turn MP into it. I can make up for the poor defence with my arisen as i can dodge most attacks and use better armour.

Also, Mystic Knight is the best vocation, 25 levels Fighter, 12 Levels Warrior, 13 Levels Assassin, 26 Levels Sorcerer. That's usually how I do it.
