What race would/will you choose?
Re: What race would/will you choose?
Nord for me.
Re: What race would/will you choose?
I feel that the Ebonheart Pact is perhaps the most well rounded. You have the Nords who are great melee warriors and excel as medium and heavy infantry, Dunmer who consist of mainly magic users to support the Nords and Argonians from a distance as line infantry, and the Argonians who are proficient in guerrilla warfare and scouting which makes them best suited as light infantry.Spelling Police wrote:Yeah, I originally said Dunmer/Nord but now I'm thinking either Altmer or Breton. Of course this poll isn't necessarily representative of the actual breakdown once the game starts, but looking around at a number of different sites, the Pact does seem to be pretty far ahead. I tend to prefer not going for the most populated side.Avron the S'wit wrote:The Dunmer have always been fan favorites; it's why I avoided them. I figured they would attract the most people and didn't want to be stuck in a sea of mostly everyone and their mother.
The Daggerfall Covenant have magic users in the form of Bretons, Redguards are very similar to Nords, and Orcs are hulking berserkers.
The Aldmeri Dominion have Altmer which are mainly magic users, Bosmer who are skilled at tracking and sniping, and Khajiit who are well suited as spies and thieves, both of the latter being physically weaker warriors than the other primarily warrior-types such as Nords, Redguards, or Orcs.
It also helps them that Dunmer are fan favorites, they are of mine, although I'm going to choose a Nord for various reasons and I'm happy that Dunmer are going to be on my side. Nords are popular in Elder Scrolls as well, they almost seem to have the most focus in the series if you pay attention and that's going to appeal to people too, not to mention that there are going to be a lot of people that want human characters and Imperials aren't accessible, leaving Redguard and, to a lesser extent, Bretons.

I'm going with Altmer or Breton. If I could have an Altmer in the Daggerfall Covenant however...

Well it may be possible to freelance with friends, just don't expect to feel safe. I wanna be an argonian but at the same time not be restricted to only one alliance. I'm not being a traitor, just striving towards a common goal.. and destruction of the Dominion

I'm pretty sure races are locked into certain alliances, unfortunately. I really wish that they would change that. Make me a lot happier, it would.

Re: What race would/will you choose?
I'm not referring to siding with alliances but with guilds and individuals. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. It's risky, but it's a fine balance. Unless your forced to fight(which would be unpopular) you can still freelance.
That can happen, even if enemy players are open to attack all the time, There's probably a way of getting messages across sides.
then, all you have to do if run to avoid auto attacking and do whatever you want.
it'll be people manipulating the system, but it is possible.

My main file is ALWAYS a Nord.
Always.
Always.
Re: What race would/will you choose?
I'm not sure what faction I want to be on yet, but if I'm DC I'll be an orc, if I'm EP I'll be dark elf, and if I'm AD I'll be a khajiit.

Re: What race would/will you choose?
I know im on the Minority here, but Faction ideals come before races for me. Fourtunatly, both my two favorite reaces, Orc and Redguard, are in the Daggerfall Covenant. If i can still be a decent tank i`ll go Redguard ( I usually Play first as a human, taking something familiar into the unknown), if not, Orc for me. On my second playthrough however, im so taking an argonian, as they are my favorite amongst the Ebonheart and thier homeland seems very interesting to me. If the empire was playable, well then it would be a different story...

Has there been said anything on whether one will be allowed to have multiple characters at the same time, or is it only on character per account?

Re: What race would/will you choose?
Of course you can have multiple characters per account. Why on Earth wouldn't you be able to? That's something literally every MMO in existence allows, and the devs of this game come from the MMO industry. They've also specifically designed this game in such a way that you have to play it at least three times to get the full story - much like Morrowind. I think that's wonderful.
Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.

Re: What race would/will you choose?
Indeed. Many MMO players have a few alts. I tend to have at least one myself, although I like to throw most of my time into my main character.

Argonian and Dunmer are my personal favorites I would role just about anything as them, and i'm sure later on down the line i'll make a Breton mage character if they retain the same-ish abilities from the other games.

Re: What race would/will you choose?
If say Breton or Nord. I'm a Mage type if guy, but also a warrior type of guy, so either race died fine for me.
Re: What race would/will you choose?
Many games do allow for multiple character creation for a single account. However not all, granted it's a rare exception that I've seen in games the past 6 years. Games that had such restrictions on character creation usually had very few restrictions on what the character could do. Darkfall and Runescape come to mind, and Eve as well though it technically allows for 3 characters (only one can gain skills at a time though).Pilaf The Defiler wrote:Of course you can have multiple characters per account. Wait a sec. I feel Like I've written this same block of text to the same statement like 6~ months ago

Altmer, naturally.

You answered this yourself but you twisted the words a bit. Haughtiness, inborn weakness to magic, cultural and genetic inbreeding. We agree on the separation though. Three cheers for being in agreement! Yay!Will Zurmacht wrote:Altmer, naturally.

TBF, Skyrim altmer have no weakness to elemental magic now, so they may not necessarily have it in TES:O.

Re: What race would/will you choose?
They may just as well though become more balanced out>_> seeing as it's now an mmo. I can easily see each side having their own clear cut advantage and heavies<_< but by no means would that make them more powerful to the rest. In a single player game>_> the unfair balance could easily pass though I do dislike certain races receiving special treatment and favored over the whole>_< it sets a bad example and promotes certain stereotypes
I still recall how High Elves in skyrim were the only to recieve an initial bonus on magicka and out of the 3(Red/Arg) their regen ability is far stronger. If they are passing this over to online, shouldn't orcs receive a bonus to health?
Anyways no single race has ever truly proven to be the most superior, namely because many grow drunk from power and fall. If anything the orcs have proven to surpass the harshest trials yet are more humble than you'll expect>_> and this is coming from an Argonian fan

Re: What race would/will you choose?
Bosmer and Dunmer have always been my races of choice, they just suit my playstyle i guess, i like the bow/blade/and the huge fireball every now and then. I never made a pure caster character tho... always more spellsword/ranger. Bow/Blade Conjuration and destruction are just my favourite things... they go pretty well together too, use bow to weaken, pull out my sword and hit them with c some lightning while they close the gap, then slice off their head with a standing power attack while my dremora lord slices through their friends.... epic

Re: What race would/will you choose?
Stricly race wise Bosmer or Dumner maybe even breton. But since the Bosmer, my favorite race, is part of the Aldmeri Dominion i might have to go with Breton for the covenent or dumner for the pact.
