On Xbox, how far can I get before I can't play anymore?
I know the Xbox version has problems with the block size.
Right now I am about 89 blocks and I think I'm about halfway done with the fighters guild and I haven't done any other quest.
I would like to experience the main story, and both expansions on one file, however I doubt this is possible, as the savefiles become unstable around 250 blocks.

I completed every possible guild quest line, including the Main Quest, like 3 years ago, or something like that. That was on my Original xbox, and I didn't have too many problems with it, aside from it freezing up every now and again, but it still didn't happen to often. So from my experience, you shouldn't have too hard a time.

I had a save game that I played off and on for over 5 years on the original Xbox. I completed all three MQ's (this was GOTY version btw), Redoran, Fighter's Guild, Legion, Mage's Guild, Thieve's Guild, East Empire Company and so on. Not every possible guild, but a large amount of content. The only reason I lost the save was because I accidentally overwrote it (it was a horrifying day). So I don't really think you should have too many problems either.

I don't recall my GOTY xbox edition of Morrowind ever becoming "unplayable" the way Oblivion eventually does if you put enough time and activity into a save.

^ Good to know. Pretty sure I've deleted all that stuff, though ...

I had one with over 400.
Strangely, the original XBOX seemed to lag less than the 360 with this game. I prefer the PC version for load times alone.

Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.

I concur with the above statement.Pilaf The Defiler wrote:I had one with over 400.

Yeah my save game with the single most play time in morrowind was on the original Xbox, Never had any game breaking issues like the one your are anticipating. But this might just be because on PC i always have walking and running mods so i don`t spend as much time on my savesStrangely, the original XBOX seemed to lag less

like others, i've never had any problems with huge block saves on my xbox.

Turn off shadows. It's also reportedly helpful to turn off sound, but I never did.
Do not overwrite saves. Make a new save every time, and save often. This was the biggest help for me, and at the start of each play session I would delete more than a dozen past saves. I actually wrecked my first XB hard drive by over loading it with MW saves.
Other tips are to always close doors, dispose of corpses, and either loot everything in a cell or nothing. These didn't seem like impact factors on my saves, so I stopped heeding them.
On my fullest run I had done nearly everything possible, favoring Telvanni and later glitching into Hlaalu and pursuing that line up until he stronghold quests. I had even done quests that should only have been available to Redoran members. I had completed everything in both Bloodmoon (Skaal) and Tribunal, too. The journal exceeded 1,000 pages. My saves were routinely over 300 blocks, but as long as I saved frequently I never encountered anything game breaking and only a handful of times had to go back to an earlier save, and only then for having broken a quest.
Good luck.

Damn it......... I have the 360, and I sold my original Xbox for money.
What type of problems will I encounter?
I plan to eventually get the PC version so I can mod everything but untill then what problems can I expect?

I started a new file on 360 a few days ago. I've played morrowind for years so I've been breezing through and already am at about 150 blocks. I have done some major soul trap glitch exploits (which always made it more laggy on original Xbox to me) and the game has been running fine. I plan on playing this file to its fullest extent and will let you know of I encounter any problems.
